Pay attention where you put the supports. It has to be closest to the part that is the most red. (((You want the support attached at the very first layer that will print on that part of the model))) ( That is the key) . If your support is a little off, you run the risk of nothing attaching there because the print started without a support there,
The section on supports would have been much more helpful if you had talked in specifics about the angles, scales and distances over which support is effective. I just did auto-support on the supplied rook model and it added support to the lettering protruding less than a millimetre at 90 degrees. Does that really need support? In your example, you said that some overhangs were too extreme, but what is the criteria?
I just got one for Christmas and I tried using auto for supports, but it seems to only print the raft and then as it continues nothing else prints. Could it be an issue with the auto generate with the supports as you discussed in this video?
In the rotation portion, you mis identified the +- 90 degree buttons. They ARE relative to the current position, but the ABSOLUTE degree is just to the right of those, and as the Mew was sitting, it shows -48.00 degrees absolute. You could put that to zero (0) and it would sit flat on the plate.
Here is where I'm having problems, it won't open the files I can't drag and drop I can't even click open then click the file I had to copy everything to the file on the you drive that said slicer software, once I did that it would at least let me access or rather the files would at least show up to be clicked on but then when I would open them it would just say wrong file I managed to get one of the files to actually open and show up but other than that it wouldn't open any of the files I don't get it if this helps at all I've downloaded them from 3d cults.
Great video thank you. I got my Creality Mage Halot this week, and I'm still struggling to get this slicing software supplied with it downloaded, registered and actually functional! Your clear explanation of the shortcomings and pitfalls is proving very helpful. Suggestion: stop swirling so much with the mouse cursor, it gives me vertigo, lol!
Since I don't see an answer, I'll give it a shot. After your done in chitubox save it to the thumb drive and once you plug the thumb drive into the printer you should b able to see the different print files choose the one you want to print and hit play

there's a part of my model as dark blue, like it's silhouetted. this is different than the other half of my model that looks perfectly normal and is the light blue color. in other slicing programs it takes on a dark gray color, I've been trying to figure out what it is and why when I go to print it it's not printing out correctly can you help me?
It’s possible it’s an error with the model, try downloading auto desk mesh mixer and running a mesh repair to see if that fixes it, I think you can also load the file into prusa slicer and they can fix it and you can save the fixed file, that might help
Good stuff! I just purchased the Kingroon KP6 Mono Resin printer. I will arrive tomorrow so I’m pretty excited to start making things (I am a WW2 scale modeler). Think of slicing as adding a ream of paper to an office printer. Slicing determines what sections of the part are printed on each layer. i.e....each layer of paper
The rest of the instruction is good, tho, especially where he warns us of the many frustrating pitfalls encountered with this otherwise featureless software. Zooming on the image is a pita to the extent that the frustration seems deliberately engineered into the software. Also, good explanations on the supports. It's rare to find an instruction whereby the author warns, without bias or favor of the product being presented, of the poor design implementations so encountered, and this instructor mercilessly offers them in spades! By unrelentingly critiquing the bad design of the software, He lets the viewer know, to the viewer's relief, that it's the software designers -- and not the viewer, who the real idiot is... One thing I find is very noteceably absent to this slicer, is the option to merge stls.

It is very possible however it is printer dependent, I’d recommend trying a different model and try manually adding support and see how it goes
I tried a different model and added the supports myself. I have it printing now so we will see how it goes.

That’s cool man you should post a video of a print🤟
I save it but my printer doesn't recognise it, its an elegoo saturn s, I saved it as .ctb and .cbddlp and the printer says there not recognised files
Check the characters in the filename. I noticed that mine will only recognize an underscore _ in the filename in order to "recognize" the file
Where do you get files for printing? Can you design your own?
Is it normal for chitubox to take forever on a slice?
Thank you. This was EXACTLY the basic information I needed.
Thanks for a great video, keep them coming. Hi from Durban, getting my Saturn this week.
Thank you very much and happy printing
So how do u zoom in??
why is it called slicing and what is slicing ?

Why didn't you show the auto support function???
he did
How do you upload a file from a different source?
You have to change the file type to .CTB in order to print the file
What number do you think I should have my bottom layer count on?
I usually use about 20
Thanks this video has helped me alot. Knowing how to add supports. Big help
I’m glad I could help
is this a guide or a review?
Hey Bicu, are you South African? I can hear the accent. Can I use methylated spirits to rinse my models or should I rather use ethanol?
Yes you can use methylated spirits, it is actually just treated alcohol anyway so it’s not very different to ethanol
