    Nice Job!!!, I am a member of the ROTC class of 1986, and proud to say I was a San Francisco Don Cadet.

      Care to share? Always good to hear what not to do as a young officer from your perspective.

    Dumbest Army policy ever--shaving BEFORE PT. Good god, it's early, let them work out with stubble and THEN get a close shave before they're about to wear a real uniform like camo or service dress. Shaving before PT and then showering after actually ruins the appearance of your shave.

    If I do ROTC, is military service (after college) mandatory? If not, is there a way to do ROTC without being obligated to the military?

    • @PopcornSheep
      @PopcornSheep 5 лет назад

      It's only obliged when you sign the contract, which would be half way through the program, assuming that you pass all the requirements. But if you just want to try to see if the military is really for you, you can join ROTC and then quit later. They won't hold anything against you, unless you receive a scholarship from them, then you will have to pay it back.
      My advice is to go talk to your school's ROTC department and decide for yourself.

      Ben Ebrighy did you use those question marks because you think it's early or late?

    • @adamwsaxe
      @adamwsaxe 6 лет назад +1

      Ha! From my memory in my college days we had PT at 0600 two (then three) times a week. AFROTC back in the early 2000s. We did not have to shave prior. So, I think we all (I lived for a time in an all ROTC house) woke around 0540 and then carpooled over to derelict field house our university gave us in lieu of tearing it down!

    • @THRWOW
      @THRWOW 6 лет назад +1

      I'm in ROTC and we usually wake up at 0445 to 0500 it's not abnormal.

      if somebody is harassing you report it to your commanding officer. however you must make sure you know the difference between kidding around and actual harassment first.

    5:20am... that’s cute. How about 3:00am to be at 5:15 at the PT. It’s hard sacrifice while having a job and studying at the same time but hey, i love it.

    • @zainahmed6502

      Balancing this with a full time University education and working a part-time civilian job is not a joke. At least as an enlisted, military is your only priority.

    • @SuperCancer6

      So you have, what, 8 weeks of boot camp that you have to go through then you get to work your job? For ROTC, it's 4 years, and also having to balance this with getting a degree. ROTC still also has an actual boot camp that is 6-8 weeks in the summer of your sophomore years depending on how long you've been in the program. So it's not a joke.
