  • Hello everyone!
Long time no seeヾ(^∇^) and thank you for 400 subscribers!!
I'm glad to be back after just a bit over a month with a "new" recording. I say it's "new" since I learned Everyday World in the past and recorded it on the old Steinway D 3 years ago but the recording was kinda crap and also in mono so I decided to relearn and re-record it =D
I first recorded this arrangement when I was 16 and had no concept or rhythm or voicing haha. I've linked the original recording in the comments and at the bottom of the description if you're interested seeing how bad it was. I guess we all have to start somewhere, though.
    About the piece:
This arrangement is so unbalanced with the difficulty which is basically 100% concentrated at the fast arpeggios and scales at 3:07. However, voicing is also another challenge in this piece as there's so many melodies going on at the same time
It wasn't so bad to learn the second time around since I basically had everything memorised but old habits die hard so it took some time to correct the unevenness in my tempo from the last time round. I used to have so much trouble reaching the B with my left hand at 3:27 since it was really close to the right hand but this time, it wasn't so hard - maybe that shows I'm slowly improving?
My biggest tip for this piece would be voicing, especially at 3:07. Those main melody notes need to be heard above the sea of arpeggios so make sure to accentuate them as much as possible.
Other than that, this arrangement was very fun to play and I especially love the ballade at the beginning.
Anyways, the next recording will be Animenz's 2022 version of Blue Bird! See you next time =)
Btw, I somehow managed to record this on the first attempt! But you can see my dehumidifier in the reflection ._.

One of my favorites from Animenz for sure! And you played it so breathtakingly I seriously have a hard time grasping it!
Which makes me all the more appreciative that you decided to also share you old crappy recording of it lol It's hard to deny that it was overall really rough and was quite lacking in many musical aspects. Yet, it seems like some magic happens when you pick up a piece again because - holy crap - does it all sound so flawless and gorgeous now!
I am not going to bother dissecting the entire thing but needless to say this was an outstanding performance and you've clearly improved a lot ever since your first take on this! Both in terms of technique, but also in terms of musical interpretation. You manage to bring out the music in such a heart felt way, it makes me proud to have witnessed this~

Thanks for taking the time to write such a thoughtful comment! I want to re-learn many more pieces in the future - am currently considering Snow Halation but I gotta figure out if I have enough time...

@@CharlesMaPiano Courage my friend, time really is a tricky one to deal with and I find myself fighting it a lot as well. You're definitely not alone with that, but I can sadly not give any advice as I'm still figuring it out for myself

Yesssss!!! I've been waiting to hear your performance of this piece for a while since I feel it matches your playstyle and piano's sound very well. The wait was worth it, too. You did a great job keeping the arpeggios even and clean, and the voicing is so clear. Also kinda hype you got it in on the first recording, ik that's gotta feel good.
Hyped for Blue Bird. Are you planning on doing Animenz's original or newer version? Or another version entirely?

The only editing I do to the video is add a spotlight effect in Final Cut Pro X haha
The video itself is recorded on an iPhone 14 Pro
