      I haven't actually tried HTV on wood with an iron so I am not positive. I generally don't add HTV to anything food will touch but Santa cookie trays really don't get the foot on the HTV so maybe that works? You could add it then go over the entire thing with a food grade sealer like Shellac.

    Hi Angie.. I made a wood sign today using HTV . I used a pine board. I prepared it by first putting polyurethane on the knots, then I primed, then painted it.. I used my large heat press ( the only one I have) at 300 degrees for 40 seconds. The vinyl did adhere well but the pine gum (sap) leaked through. Is there any way to prevent this from happening in the future and is there a way I can salvage the sign I did make. p.s. hand sanitizer removed the paint.Thank you for your help..Alma

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  3 года назад +2

      You can paint the wood. The main thing I would say is that people do not let the paint cure long enough. For spray paint, I would wait 72 hours before applying anything on top. Then use the minimum temperature and time that you can get away with.
