had a Tow Pro unit installed in our ute when we purchased it, the auto electrician (a supposed authorised installer) installed it did not give us any idea how it worked and installed the control knob in front of the right side of the dash parallel to the drivers knee. It was only talking to your rep at the 4x4 show in Sydney of its correct location, he was great in explaining how easy it was to relocate the knob - I have been told by various auto electricians that the unit often failed if any part of the unit was relocated - I ended up doing it and it works fine. Thanks for the info.
Thank you for watching, and your interest in REDARC gear. The Tow-Pro calibration process is for the brake controller to learn the position it has been placed in. The calibration only needs to be done again if the location/orientation of the Tow-Pro has been changed. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact our friendly Tech Support Team in our head office.
If you descend and your car is eg 2nd gear and you dial up controller eg to 6 how the controller will know to apply brake if you don't touch the brake pedal?
Thank you for watching and your interest in REDARC gear. The Tow-Pro won't operate unless you press the brake pedal or remote head override button. They need to receive a brake signal to apply trailer brakes.
Hi Noel, the LED illumination on TowPro’s remote head should be dimmed out completely with no trailer connected - it should only come on when you either press the button in to see ‘blue breathing’ OR when you have a trailer connected it will be then illuminated Blue or Green (depending on which mode is chosen). For further assistance don't hesitate to contact our friendly Tech Support Team who will be able to provide greater information over the phone.
This presentation could have been so much better with a visual set up as well to compliment the talk, being a tutor in industry for many years this approach is leaps and bounds ahead ,on the question of trailer sway if the dial is set to slightly more braking on the trailer while in auto mode would this pull the trailer back in line
I have a witi alarm system hooked into the wiring for the caravan, when connected to the truck the tow pro elite dial shows a blue light, when I apply the brakes the blue light turns red and then I see a 1 second flash of yellow then turn red again.Do I have a problem?
Hi Ian, thank you for your message. If the error code is 1 x red flash and 1 x yellow flash - this indicates a short on the blue output wire from the Tow Pro. Our Tech Support Team are readily available to discuss further on 08 8322 4848.
Guys, unfortunately you failed the most fundamental requirement in giving a presentation on the Tow Pro Elite by talking WAY TOO MUCH BUT NOT GIVING ANY PRACTICAL VISUAL SETTING OF YOUR BRAKE CONTROLLER FOR THE DIFFERENT MODES! While you did TALK ABOUT how to set the controller, actually visually showing this would have been far more beneficial for your audience! Had you used the same visual demonstration as used for your Toe Pro model it would have clearly and unambiguously demonstrated the most important SETTINGs of the Elite model! By the way I have had the Tow Pro Elite installed in my 4x4 since it first came on the market and think it is the Ant's Pants! The old adage "a picture is worth a thousands words" or, "SHOW ME" is extremely relevant forshowing how to correctly set such important safety functions for this brake controller!
Thanks for the feedback, Ian. We appreciate it. And thank you for your support of our products, glad you are getting great use out of your Tow-Pro Elite.

Hello do you need to recalibrate if you have 2 different trailers? We calibrated to a small camper and have a larger one. Thanks

Should the blue light be on when not towing anything ?
