That part always makes me laugh a little, because I know there are about 3 or 4 times more Irish-Catholics in America than Ireland at this point (present company included), so I wonder how many Irish-Catholic Canadians there are. Gosh, I miss her sweet way of interviewing.
@@kateealer7 yeah but it's not about the amount it's about the proportion, much greater chance of an Irish person being Catholic than an American. That's what she was referring to I'm guessing.
She had a smooth voice, not gravel but perhaps a fine grain of sand? A tiny rasp? Her speech cadence was also very smooth. Articulate and well spoken she was indeed. Dearly missed :-(
Can you imagine being in a dank bar with 4 people there and The Cranberries come on stage and play “linger”. Don’t take life for granted. RIP you angel.
Here I am in 2022 and for the past few days I've been so sad thinking about her. She talks so freely about herself. And she talks about the toll it takes making this rock band thing work. She wanted to be happy but I can see pain when she talked. And though I never followed the Cranberries much in their time, I am just sad now that this wonderful woman left too soon.
Stunning, lovely young lady with beautiful gorgeous eyes. So honest about her life and her music. Will be sadly missed forever and a day. This world will miss you lovely.
In this interview, she is so insightful, honest, reflective, and real. She never apologizes for her past opinion, but she acknowledges her humanity and her youth and her political perspective and her former opinion. So based and so grounded. The interview is very assertive and she does so well with that; I am so happy for her, in hindsight.
She has the most comforting speaking voice, not to mention her amazing singing voice. I could listen to her all day. Singing or Speaking. So very, smooth and relaxing. The world truly lost an amazing soul on the 15th of January 2018. 💔
He's name is Pat Kenny & at the time he was the highest paid TV personality in Ireland. Poor interviewer when it comes to celeb stuff, much more comfortable interviewing politicians...
Much Respect and Love for Delores..She lived a lifetime in too short of a period, what a loss to all creative artists. She handled herself with truth and grace!
God, I miss her, hearing her voice. I was born one day before, in 1971. I know the burden, an share in it, alcoholism, R.I.P. you will live on forever in all of our hearts
Amazing how honest, genuine, good-natured, talented, and down-to-earth she is. So sad she is not here today. She left too soon. I only learned about her and her music from her NPR Tiny Desk performance after her death. How simple and beautiful her songs are. At least we still have those to enjoy. Bless you and your family Dolores.
What a down to earth 'chat'. Being that famous and 'getting it', at that age is really rare and impressive. Many little insights into her persona and humor. Canadian/Catholic is priceless. PS: Having a child is like being in love forever. RIP.
She is missed deeply. Even with all her fame and wealth she appears to have remained a great person that values family and life above everything else. I was fortunate to be in the USA and bought their 1st album before most of the rest of the world heard them.
Such a shame the interviewer kept talking over Dolores would have loved to hear her full answers. The Cranberries are an important part of the soundtrack to my life. I am blessed I was able to see them live once. Dolores was such a sprite with the voice of an angelic host. I still cry at times when I hear her unexpectedly. Thank you for sharing your gifts for all of time. I hope you found peace. RIP dear heart
What a beautiful spirit I remember the first time I heard Linger. Hairs standing on the back of my neck. Such a vivid memory. 2 things that really evoke memories for me are music and smell. 😊
I had no idea this was around, found it by accident. She was, amazingly enough, one of the first deaths that made me cry. And now again. Speaking as one of the oldschool rockn'rollers, believe me when I say; We lost something important here.
I love Dolores's speaking voice, as amazing as her singing voice. She is truly missed, The Cranberries music helped me through some really dark times. RIP Dolores, thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit and tremendous talent with the world.
I went to see the Cranberries twice & met Dorlores, very briefly outside the venue (Royal Albert Hall) I told her what a Wonderful voice she had. I'm so very glad I waited, for her. I hope she's resting in peace, with her Dad🌟❤🌟
RIP Dolores. May God bless you and keep you. You are in a far better place now. Maybe because God fell in love with your music He decided to take you to Him far too soon for us so He can listen to it endlessly. Amazing voice. Amazing person. Your voice and music will live on forever.
love her so much! no hesitation in answering questions that many others would have paused and crafted a self-serving response. beautiful, bright, and talented. gone way too soon. May her soul through the mercy of God rest in peace. ❤️
Wow. Looked fantastic! And that dress was gorgeous. Smart. Lovely. Talented. LOVED her family. Miss her very much. And ain't no "Tom Boy" sitting there, this night ...
Sad to watch. She had something to say and he kept interrupting her or cutting her off. Her words in speech and song were so well done. Crying out to be heard. If only they would listen.
Tears reading comments brought me to tears as well, because of just how much she was loved by her fans and I loved her as well, and I will always miss hearing her voice also and she really had an angelic voice one of the sweetest singing voices that I have ever heard in my lifetime. And I knew the first time I heard her singing that I was hooked and I couldn’t ever get enough of hearing her sing at all. DO you are truly missed lady keep on making the Angels in heaven happy now with your beautiful voice
She was a real celebrity. She couldn't walk on a street without being recognized constantly. So she wore dark glasses, wigs, hoods or hats all the time.
She was wonderful. Linger is such a beautiful and yet sad song in some ways. One of my all time fav songs. Great interview, but as someone else mentioned he would interrupt before she finished and to be honest...he seemed to be chasing after far too much of doom and gloom on her life rather than the rest. I cried when I heard she died. Such a talent. RIP Delores.

this is a person now in retrospect succumbed to this lifestyle and her own chemistry. She was talking about it all along. She needed a normal life at some point! Not alone in a damn hotel!
Her comments about turning to alcohol and being depressed and lonely in hotel rooms were so striking considering how she would pass away 19 years later. Her past predicted her future. It is all so tragic considering how talented she was and yet how alone she was in the end.
very true and very sad. It is like us normies think being famous and rich brings you happiness and you dont really need anything but seeing her here talk about her struggles and isolation and being depressed makes me think even success or anything else can not replace human to human connection.
