Back here again. Whenever I'm in the most painful internal struggles with anger and grief, particularly when trauma is triggered and dissociation is heightened, I listen to Amenra and the pain just melts away and I'm grounded back into my body. Bob Marley's quote "One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain" never really landed with me until Amenra. At the right moment, Amenra is like one big euphoric hug.
Yep, it's the crazy strong beamer that's put at the front of house that projects in black and white, the bass has a sunburst paint job and even that looked like black 'n white. It's like all colour has left the planet and taken happiness with it. That's how I felt during the last time I saw them. It's been too long :'(
For real. I cringe when I see bands like this and there's drunk douchebags who are just there to be there and fuck around loudly during the performance.
Greenman2112 Indeed. I wish the crowd in Boston the other night was half as gracious and respectful. Mathieu(guitar) actually told somebody to shut up at one point. The show was still amazing, it just reaffirmed my belief that some people in this "scene" should fucking check out...
This was the only gig I was ever at where people were giving shit to anyone talking the whole time. It was a beautiful show just because the quiet parts were indeed quiet, with no douche talking and laughing.
back in like 2014 I saw this band actually jump of the stage (after they ended) to confront some people about their behavior (this behavior was a bit more than being loud). this isn't just a concert to them. they put a lot of time and power and try their best on every performance.
Wow I wasn’t expecting that to have such a big effect on me. The ritual... I cried. I suffer with chronic back pain and have metal rods down my spine but music, dancing and movement is a massive part of me. A lot of the time the restriction to my sense of self expression is more emotionally painful than the physical pain itself. Those moments where you can see Colin wants to let his body express how the music feels inside him by throwing himself forward and gyrating but feels restricted in movement by the weight and pain of the rocks, yeah that. That awful physiological bodily tension between “I need to move and express” and “I can’t”. That’s my life. Thwarted desire.
@@GodlyMullet It definitely moved/released/healed something. Since watching that I’ve grounded back in my body and started dancing and appreciating it again, appreciating what it CAN do instead of being so angry with what it can’t do. Now I’m learning Flamenco 💃🏽 a dance that has roots in many cultures and the minorities of Spain used it as a safe way to express their aggression against their oppressors. @@pavma7 Same, also a Amen RA / Igorrr lineup is not a very good fit in my opinion. A Grind/drum'n'bass/balalaïka metal band doesn't really work after a concert that emotionaly intense.
The pain ritual of this performance really made me ponder human nature and the power of ritual, even when recontextualized in the modern day, to evoke power and emotion, and bring us closer to a deeper empathy with the feelings of the “projector”. Pure perfection! It is so beautiful. So perfect
this is heavy and i love how the singer moves.
What a monster !!!!!!!! Great performance !! Love it. Great to see the life stream. A pleasure !!!!!!!
When I first heard these guys I thought they were reinventing the wheel.
Now after I’ve gotten into them more with this past year; it’s more like they set not only the wheel; but the entire fucking carriage on fire and started from ashes. Screaming at the sky
C’est magnifique
Most people in this comment section would be well served to attend a Traditional Latin Mass and start studying the Holy Scriptures. I don't mean that tongue in cheek, but it is thee ritual that helped nurture entire continents for thousands of years and when done right has amazing effects.
Simply one of the best bands ever! Children of the Eye is one of the most powerful openings ever!
Grand moment, de et en suspension 🖤
Amenra has a deep impact on people, hell, on me too. There was no need for such a statement. No need!
If it's a need for him, the story ends there. We're just observers. We can comment on whether we find it aesthetically pleasing or disturbing but that's about it
What do you mean by such a statement?
Incredible band. Love them!
by the sake of god, what I just see, I discovered AMENRA in pandemic, this band awake shadows and monsters in my life, and I need to tell you that is unreal and facinating. remember is good when you confront and huge your monsters instead of feeling fear about them.
AMENRA ...Junkyard Dortmund : 18.02.2019...cannot wait for it!

The sound of pure pain, I love it
J'ai juste envie de "like" beaucoup de commentaires.
Cela dit, ce pourquoi tous, nous sommes réunis est la musique intérieure qui nous fait pousser des cris de vie ou quelque survivance qui ne nous appartienne pasplus#
