It’s so good because it was gifted to Bruce.
What I mean by that is it’s a song of being young (yet wise and introspective), in the right place, at the right time…and if you’re lucky enough and talented enough you can share it with the world as it’s bestowed upon you.
      Bruce did just that.
And as we get old and we appreciate it more each time we hear it we realize how amazing that time and space was in our our life when we too were young even though we’ll never be allowed back there because that’s how life works.
But when Bruce sings it we can remember it, feel it, appreciate it, and for that…thank God for him sharing it with us.

This song is an anthem. Is the manifestation of everybody's desires, no matter the social status, age or birthplace. As a songwriter, I always say that I 'tune in' to some unknown frequencies, grab some stories out of the ether and make an album. He was doing the same, impersonating the lead in this imaginary movie. Bruce expressed every man's wants and needs in a way so familiar but so cinematic that it's impossible not to have a reaction.

If there was only one song I had to listen to until the end of my days, it would be this one. Have my ticket booked for Hyde Park next July. Cannot wait.
