It's totally admirable how much you juggle, Becky, and still manage to keep all those balls dancing in the air. As a mom and full-time teacher, it boggles my mind that you do all that and still manage to sell consistently on so many platforms plus manage you youtube channel. That's a LOT! I sold a little as a teacher and mom of young kids, but VERY part-time. Only now that they are grown am I getting more active, also I enjoy it much more.

I agree with you, I keep my old items up. These past few weeks I had some sales from 2018-2019 items. It feels so good to get rid of them and most of the time I make a few bucks. I figured I did the work listing the items and even moved with the items, I might as well leave them up and try to get something for them. I understand if people don't have a lot of storage space. Now I know a lot more and make better buys (hopefully) and if I find something I have is not worth selling, I won't bother to list it. I also list kids clothes in groups if they aren't worth selling as individual pieces.

I’m actually about a half hour north of Rockford, just south of the WI border.
I started reselling a little over a month ago, and believe it or not, in my first week of thrifting I found a pair of Dojos. They sold really quickly on Depop for like $72. So as of a month ago, they seemed to still be selling well! And that was just a totally lucky find for a newbie! Haven’t found any others since then.

I like your month recap videos. I am on all three but just started Posh and Mercari more recently. I went stale on posh for 2 weeks, sold one thing three days in a row, now stale again for more than a week. Kinda frustrating but just keep on plugging away. I also don’t have many listings so need get more inventory
So frustrating-I hear ya. Do you relist stale listings? That might buy you time while you’re looking for new inventory
Mercari is definitely a beast of a different color! A tip for you - it pre-fills the title line with a couple words it pulls from your pictures, so you have to make sure you delete that before you put in your own title. It's very annoying. I don't personally make a lot of sales on that platform, but I keep trying.... lol

I canceled a sale on Mercari when the shipping snafu happened. The item was Farm Rio for Anthro and I already gave a great deal. Your champion story is impressive! You are one patient woman. 🎉 I don’t have the space to wait years so I resell at places like a Plato’s type place. If the item was under $5 I can make a small profit or break even if I take store credit. I only donate damaged items. Thank you for sharing your sales!
Yes-I know not everyone can hold on to bad buys. Everyone has to do what works for their business.
Chaps does make many boho type items. Larger sizes sell better. Personally, I love Chaps for myself.

Becky come to Canada and go to PEI live your Anne Dreams. We have a government park where you can see the house walk the haunted woods. My kids loved it.

PEI is my favourite province. The Anne of Green Cables stuff is very reasonably priced. You can drive across the island in a few hours. Watch whales and sea lions. Go on a lobster boat and catch your dinner.

I have sold Lilly Dresses with flaws for the fabric prints before, and they sell REALLY FAST. I know of people who seek out prints to upcycle into other clothing or even decor.

I gave poshmark a try and in a week got thrown into poshmark share jail because of suspicious overuse of sharing. I shared like crazy trying to get momentum going. I guess I worked so hard at it that i looked like a Bot 🤦🏻♂️. So I quit didn’t like that very much. So now I’m giving Mercari a go. eBay is still my go to site.
Congrats on sharing THAT hard! Haha. So did they just shut down your account or it’s just in detention for awhile? I’d suggest using the site’s sharing tool 2X a day. That should be enough sharing to get started 😀
Can I please ask how you keep track of what you spend and what you made? Also like your profit/loss.

I think mercari has a thing that puts in automatic titles for you once it sees the photos. I wonder if it overrides when using some sort of cross listing software
YES I think you’re right. Usually it’ll get overrided with list perfectly, but every once in awhile, mercari’s title wins out and it sucks lol

What is hard goods?
Things that aren’t clothes-it could be anything! Toys, collectibles, silverware, etc.
Every month those garbage listings EBay ends and relist with at least a .10 cent fee per depending on your store level. If you have 1k items that take 6 years do the math. Thats $100 a month for 1k items for 72 months- bad items also take eyes off your good items. just trying to explain that those items cost to stay in your store at least on EBay. I don’t know other platforms
For sure-that’s why I have a store with more than enough listings. Even if they relist, I’m still not paying more than the store subscription for them. Also, end listings and sell similar instead of automatically letting them relist to freshen them up a bit.
It's interesting that you're not really into hard goods, because it seems like you are able to make pretty good profit off of the few that you decide to list. lol
I know it's not your bread and butter, but you'd be surprised how quickly you can sell hard goods VS clothing, especially for higher gains.
If it doesn't completely destroy your soul, maybe give hard goods a small teeny tiny trial run and see how well it does.
But I understand that if you hate it then you hate it. However, if you're able to sell fast and sell high regularly, maybe it will change your perspective about it. 😆
One thing is for certain when it comes to hard goods... toys and card games are a goldmine these days. 😉

Haha I hear ya. I just came into some video games, and I do have some experience selling video games, so I’m sure it’ll be fine, but I just find the listing process so annoying for some reason!
I tried the sale. I sent the message to 5k shoppers. I’ve had four responses I am soooo discouraged
It definitely doesn’t have a stellar response every time. It’s most effective on Thursdays or Fridays and with a pretty large discount.
I did yesterday Friday for 40% off everything. 😞
