Neat! I love dehydrated onions, herbs and challenging one, potatoes.
I have not tried potatoes yet!! Why are they challenging???
@@HanbleceyaRanch I am guessing the amount of moisture it would make them "rubbery" when dehydrated. Not like those crispy ones in those boxed au gratin potatoes. It would be GREAT storage and you would pull out the amount you want to eat for dinner and no leftovers.
That is so cool I might try it thanks Jen
It is easy and saves so much space!!😊
Amazing! This was really enjoyable to watch & thanks, I'm learning so much. Rock on❤
Thank you for watching. We really appreciate your support!! ♥️
Hi Jason n Jen,
Wow girl how talent you are! I love it.c
All your dehydrated goods looked
so pretty. That’s one thing I love to do.
The last things I done was Gala apples,
oh my word they were delicious!
Job well done Jen. Who knew you could
use the top of your wood cook stove. Yayayaya
Stay safe, dry and God Bless ❤
Hi Pam!
Getting some more good ideas from the comments here. Looking forward to dehydrating some new things and different ways! Figure as long as the stove is on….put it to good use!! Have a great weekend!! God bless!♥️🙏♥️
I dehydrate lots of stuff. I have a dehydrator. Don’t can, but I do freeze things. I mostly grow potatoes, turnip and butternut squash. I do the same with tomatoes. Put them in the freezer until I have a lot then I cook them down and freeze portions. Great common sense vd. I have an Aero garden John bought me. Haven’t set it up yet, but I want to grown salad greens with it. Thx, Jen.
Hi Donna!
That was me when we first came out here. I either froze it or I did some water bath canning. But not much. Once the outdoor kitchen was done I started canning like a mad woman!! Never have done it before and it still scares me to death to pressure can but it makes me double check what I am doing so I’m less likely to screw up…too bad. 🤣 I love dehydrating. Saves so much space in storage and so convenient when you cook!! Have a great night! Let me know about your Aero garden!!😊
Very cool, I really appreciate the informational videos
Thanks for watching!!😊
See if your chives keep their flavor. Mine didn’t seem to. Love that you’re dehydrating though!
Just had hubby close his eyes and try the chives. He knew exactly what it was but did say that it isn’t as strong. 👍
And wow!! No fancy machine!!?
We have a dehydrator but as long as the wood stove is on…let it do more than heat the cabin!!😊
I dehydrate a lot because my chickens and ducks love greens etc. so in the winter I hydrate them back and the girls get veggies. I also give them dehydrated herbs so they stay healthy!
We just got our chickens. I have given them some herbs with their feed. I also am trying something else (video coming soon). 😉 What greens do you dehydrate for them?? Would love to get some ideas! 😊
@@HanbleceyaRanch They love parsley!
I dehydrate all types of greens (collards, Swiss chard, turnip green, beet greens, cabbage. I have a chicken garden and they get fresh greens everyday plus they love cherry tomatoes. As far as herbs just type in google herbs that are beneficial for chickens. I give them fresh herbs in the spring and summer and dried herbs in the fall and winter. Just remember chickens are like potato chips you can’t just have one 😅😅😅. I live alone and have 8 chickens and ten ducks!!!!
@HensOnly I have mixed parsley in their feed!!
@evelyndole4618 I took a picture of your reply. Now I need to set up a chicken garden!! I love the idea!! We have already talked about getting more chickens. Several neighbors are wanting eggs!!😉
I dehydrate a lot here. Nice job. Have you done jerky yet? Have you tried the net racks that hang? They fit a LOT of whatever you want to dry. I've always got a few hanging outside when it's nice out during the summer and fall.
Yes, we have done jerky before. Net racks?? Not sure what those are. I use the wood stove, the propane stove, the dehydrator and our sun oven. Let me know about the racks!😊
@@HanbleceyaRanch YT won't allow me to post links so I sent the link to Jason's messenger as it was handy.
Ordered one today!! Looking forward to trying it out!! 😊
Cool. How long does it keep this way?
As long as it is completely dried…it’s just like buying herbs and spices from the store!! This year was my first time doing celery and tomato skins….they are great to add to just about anything!! 😊
@@HanbleceyaRanch I did not think of that. Great idea! ✌
Thanks!😊👍
Chives on baked taters..... ohhhhh yuht.
So good!!😊
