Agreed, I know he can't include everything, but those are some significant omissions. The entire Prodigy approach line is great, I bag A2, A3, and two A4s because they're all terrific
Maybe I missed it but add Tactic to that list. Hard to find in premium plastic though (my favorite version is Razor Claw 2). Also agree with Prodigy A* and, even though I don't like it, the Harp is a highly surprising disc to skip... Oh, and don't sleep on the Plasma Entropy or the Glow Envy which is waaaay more stable than the Electron Envy he tried in the other video.
The entire A series was designed for this shot specifically. Very surprising. I really love Oakley’s building the bag series - there are no videos that compile an array of makes and molds like this; what a great resource to compare them all to one another.
Absolutely. Love the bobcat. The royal plastic and royal soft does beat into a straight slight stable. Which is nice if you like the whole seasoning process. Go to mid for me in different times of beat in. The premium plastics are more os but still beat in nicely.
Right? I bag the A2, A3, and A4 because they're all really good. I'm not the brand loyal type either, to they just all do something different and they do it really well.
Love seeing your bag build videos. Can’t wait to see what you choose for the season. The Bobcat is a versatile discs, especially in its different plastics. Sublime and Royal are my jams.
That was excellent. Not only does Eric throw a mixed bag which is more relatable to us mixed bagged amateurs, but he does a great job providing detailed feedback and reasoning about the discs.
If you can get your hands on an Eternal Bobcat, that's the good stuff. I've got one if you want it. I've admittedly never thrown any other plastic for the Bobcat, but the Eternal is awesome for forehands. Also the Bobcat just feels so good in the hand!
LOL i bag a Justice and a Berg (glow) but i switched out my zone for a soft harp (its just better in every way, but it has to be the soft one) great series,)
Looking forward to you trying more Kastaplast as well as other smaller manufacturers. Hope to see you try the Kaxe and Lots, and the Disctroyer FD-8 Stork which is very straight for an amateur like me, probably a nice slightly understable disc for you. And more RPM!
Berg on annie is the best. Doesn't flip over and burn into a roller, and doesn't really fight out of it much. More just settles out of it. Best approach disc I use for anything inside of 200'. For me personally, it's the only disc and can comfortably throw fan grip. Only other time I feel comfortable with fan grip is just regular putting.
Aw heck, looking forward to the steggo haha! I love both the zone and the pig, but for whatever reason I feel even more confident with a pig in my hand.
For putting i have the EV-7 PHI, for approach i use GetFreaky Zone and C-line P3, and for throwing i use the JB Banger GT, JB luna, PP Fierce and K1 Berg
It's awesome getting your opinions on all these discs, keep up the good work. But I'm kinda surprised to not see the Entropy in this lineup. For me, kinda like how the Reactor is to the Buzz, the Entropy is what the Zone wanted to be when it was created. As is with any discs that fly very similar, it does come down to feel, maybe it just didn't fit right? Or maybe you would feel bad having half your bag be MVP haha. Looking forward to seeing what you pull out for the fairways. Cough, Discmania, cough cough... Evolution me, I mean excuse me. Also, weirdly, the Eclipse 2.0 Halloween edition of the Insanity is well...insane. Nothing like a regular one (WAY more stable) but very nice to throw.
Lovin this series! Was hoping Eric would try out a tactic. Been a go to approach disc fore me recently and you can beat them in to fly fairly straight.
Eric, when you are lining up your overstable approaches are you looking at the target or setting your eyes 10' or more to the left for RHFH? That Alpas is hilarious, I have a baobab and its like that stego.
Anvil in a couple different plastics cover all these things you want. My Nikko chameleon glow is the beef, the special edition burst x are flat and perfect, the hybrid are good throwers and the bt hybrid are perfect upshot discs
Great series, but it feels like Eric already has his mind made up on what is going into his bag. I could absolutely be wrong though. I look forward to more of these videos, nonetheless.
@@tyler_glasgow pretty much I threw pretty much just dd for a long time and have to say that they will rarely be better than other companies overall but each disc in there lineup excels at one thing compared to other discs that fly similarly even compared to other trilogy discs
What are the distance of those throws? I find it hard to see it on camera often. I do want to believe the bag on the forehand approach is about 65-75 meters away but what is the actual distance? It's extra interesting to know on approach-shots since its a combo of everything, feel for aim, power for distance, angle for groundplay and so on.
I love your honest and fair reviews of the discs as you consider them. Also, the focus on how every disc has some value and feel it HUGE for each player. Looking forward to the next one!
So why'd you leave out the tactic? I assume you've tried them and ruled them out prior to the video, but I know how much you've been throwing the discmania molds so I had to ask
Long story. Basically me and the Harp had some issues when I first switched to DD a long time ago and I haven't been able to get past it. It cost me too many strokes and I had to let that dream die.
You know which one you should try tough? A viking discs Loki! It's a tad slower than a justice, but BEEFY. A ton of skips too and I think you can get it in base plastic too. Very justice-esc feel.
If you managed to hog a couple of fluid slammers (2017 Nissan Stadium Event run) for yourself during your time with DD you have the perfect approach putter there, almost harplike overstability and the thumbtrack+fluid plastic ensures the glide is shit so it sits down hard in the air. Overall that disc makes me think the Harp and the Berg had a lovechild, sadly it's only the fluid plastic I like that much, the lucid is too slippery in the rain and the base plastics beat in too much. I keep saying it whenever it comes up: That disc never got the marketing it needed. It's way better than the harp for most players, Ricky and other great putters who don't mind circles edge putts all the time can crank on harps to get those extra 60-80' of distance with their approachdisc but most of us who are mediocre putters are far better served by a disc that sits down closer to the pin instead.
Have you thrown a Deflector? It's a beefier Justice, imo. I have not seen a wind that defeats it backhand. Even on a poorly-thrown forehand it wobbles flat and fights out of it. If DDO gets out-of-control windy, you'll be able to lean on it to gain strokes on the field. If Drew had one in Maricopa, he probably wouldn't have dropped
Forehand berg on anhizer for short touchy shots in the woods is amazing
Harp, AviarX3 and Prodigy A series seem like significant omissions. DX AviarX3 is my fav.
Agreed, I know he can't include everything, but those are some significant omissions. The entire Prodigy approach line is great, I bag A2, A3, and two A4s because they're all terrific

This, plus the MVP Entropy. Entropy feels the best of the lot in my hand.
The entire A series was designed for this shot specifically. Very surprising.
I really love Oakley’s building the bag series - there are no videos that compile an array of makes and molds like this; what a great resource to compare them all to one another.
750 A2 and Terminal velocity Ursus are my 2 utility discs. Gotta give them a try
You should try the 500 A2. Slightly more grip and surprisingly a little more OS too
@@BenRowland wasn't a fan of the 500. My 750 is an older one and it's really gummy. I bag 750 and 300 plastic
A2 is the forehand way
I agree, the a2 and a3 should be here tbh
Absolutely. Love the bobcat. The royal plastic and royal soft does beat into a straight slight stable. Which is nice if you like the whole seasoning process. Go to mid for me in different times of beat in. The premium plastics are more os but still beat in nicely.
So, grab a bundle of disc's, throw them, and see which ones work for your game, your bag.. Genius... Pure genius...
Best series out there, can't wait for the next episode
You are theeeeeeee man Eric! The energy is beyond motivating. Keep shredding!
Eric Oakley Tour Series Berg would go straight into my bag... :)
You said you shanked the pig but the one glow ricky ive thrown is suprisingly straight on forehands.
Definitely need to throw a Prodigy A2 and A3
Grab a K1 Soft Berg! Flies basically the same but skips even less!
The K1 soft is my favorite Berg-plastic!
Stabilizer and Entropy need a try!
Aaaaye glad too see the bobcat getting much deserved love. When they do a run in eternal make sure you grab some.
That was excellent. Not only does Eric throw a mixed bag which is more relatable to us mixed bagged amateurs, but he does a great job providing detailed feedback and reasoning about the discs.
Loved seeing you throw all these different discs. Makes me wanna throw some!
The mint disc was clearly the fastest, cool series to watch.
No prodigy? A2, A3
Just didn’t grab any. Zone and Justice earned the spots really early on.
@@WhalePants youre missing out. A2 is amazing.
So is that Kin Tiki like a Sol?
Very similar in flight, just much slower than the Sol.
@@WhalePants sweet, thanks. Would you use that type of shot on tour ever?
Gotta throw a Zone. It just does what you want it to do, every time.
Try both plastic types of the A2!
Great video series. Would love to see your take on the Harp and the Toro!
If you can get your hands on an Eternal Bobcat, that's the good stuff. I've got one if you want it. I've admittedly never thrown any other plastic for the Bobcat, but the Eternal is awesome for forehands. Also the Bobcat just feels so good in the hand!

Give the 350g A2 a shot
Wow, no A series.
Aw heck, looking forward to the steggo haha! I love both the zone and the pig, but for whatever reason I feel even more confident with a pig in my hand.
Ever tried a Lone Star Discs Harpoon? I love mine!
Ive never tried a harder plastic zone but the z swirl ledgestone soft zone is amazing in my opinion. Its amazing for the approach.
Not sure if you have much experience with them but would love to see you add some RPM molds to the mix.
Totally missing out on the Prodigy A2
This series is so entertaining
wow, no A3?? interesting.
Love the bobcat
Bro, get your hands on a full turn shortcut.
For putting i have the EV-7 PHI, for approach i use GetFreaky Zone and C-line P3, and for throwing i use the JB Banger GT, JB luna, PP Fierce and K1 Berg
Eric's runup is a little dance

He is also sleeping on the PYRO. Took my zone and pig out for the pyro. I use pyro meteor and relay
No deflector :(
awesome great disc info here
The Stego is a disc you don’t need, until you need it! I don’t throw it often but it’s got me out of a jam a few times
This is fun to watch. I'm very much looking forward to seeing whether you keep felons or raiders over firebirds and destroyers
no recluse?

Definitely throwing to account for the fade and skip.
Eric Oakley tour series Berg and kastaplast jarn are my go to approach discs
No harp?
The Stego cracked me up!
Anvil in a couple different plastics cover all these things you want. My Nikko chameleon glow is the beef, the special edition burst x are flat and perfect, the hybrid are good throwers and the bt hybrid are perfect upshot discs
Prodigy A series is the best in the game hope you can try them out
Great series, but it feels like Eric already has his mind made up on what is going into his bag. I could absolutely be wrong though. I look forward to more of these videos, nonetheless.
It seems he's mostly made up his mind but there are a few things he's figured out he likes. Mainly the hunter and the bobcat.
100%
Also so far, with his history throwing DD, showing the Justice is the only DD disc worth even trying.
@@tyler_glasgow pretty much I threw pretty much just dd for a long time and have to say that they will rarely be better than other companies overall but each disc in there lineup excels at one thing compared to other discs that fly similarly even compared to other trilogy discs
@@man-just-die4401 that’s a pretty hot take imo. I think Ricky will definitely be proving you wrong this year.
Wow, no A2 huh
Random but what shoes are you wearing?
Nike Terra Kiger
The Tui from RPM probably flies like the kon tiki, but in the cosmic plastic it tries to fight out a little at the end
RPM Kea is pretty sweet.

150-200ft
Thats why the Stego almost made it over there then! :P It's not useless but it is hard to find its use ;)
My approach discs are Lux and Soft Tactic, K1 Soft and K1 Hard Berg, and lastly a Pig. They are all sooo gooood:))
You need to try all the a series from prodigy. So good
I’m surprised there wasn’t an A2 or A3 in this.

Have you have a chance to try the The Legacy Recluse would like to hear your thoughts about it :)
I have something very similar in the Terminal Velocity Ursus that I’m absolutely loving!
@@WhalePants Love the series BTW :D
z flx zones are the truth. love em.
Best forehand zone
Can’t wait!!!
I pretty much only throw the berg with a forehand. For a 1 speed, it handles a surprising amount of torque too. Also, Koi is a better alpas :)
Love the berg man. And zone. And Maurice… not Maurice…. A justice.
When it comes time for drivers, you should definitely give a shot to the Viking Discs Valhalla. They're a slightly overstable 12 speed. Awesome discs.
RHYNO BRO RHYNO!
Just a question, but how come no Prodigy? Seems like they are know for approach discs to some respect.
Just didn’t grab any. Zone and Justice earned the spots really early on.
No A3 or A2 sad.
Where’s the Harp daddy
Didn’t like the Harp when I was with Trilogy. The Zone fits the slot better for me.
Why didn't you try the Harp?
Didn’t like Harps when I was with Trilogy, Zone fits my hand significantly better. Harps are really good, just not for me.
So zones are better for larger hands and Harp's for smaller hands? I'm needing one or the other for my bag
@@warrenburns4998 zone is shallower than harp
Crazy the a3 or a2 aren’t here
