    Related to Bedard: I saw so many people who were hacking on him for ONLY doing 14 pull ups. Most people don't even know anyone who can do 14 pull ups, in fact, most people can't do 5. Right now, Google says that if one can do 12-15 they are in the highest percentile.

    • @JunkBondTrader
      @JunkBondTrader 9 месяцев назад

      thats just for the average person.. 15 pull ups for an NHL player is probably below the tenth percentile.

    • @smorgdonkey
      @smorgdonkey 9 месяцев назад

      @@JunkBondTrader I don't think so. Younger players may be doing more of that kind of training but it would be surprising to me if guys over a certain age coukd do many. The young prospects can do quite a few...like Bedard was maybe 10th in that regard but many people who are trained to an elite level can't do many pull ups, it's often very specific training.
      I would love to know what the players in general can do and I wouldn't even care if I was wrong but as a long time trainer, pull up 'masters' are incredibly rare.

  • @Nicholas-ho8xj
    @Nicholas-ho8xj Год назад

    Watching this video was the first time I agreed with any of the hype surrounding Conner Bedard as a standout hockey player. And the only reason I felt like that was because he's the only player on the ice wearing a full face mask. To me it showed that he's got intelligence that surpasses most other players. Why would you not wear a full face mask when you are playing the fastest sport in the world, where the puck is constantly traveling at speeds up to 100 miles an hour? Players wear protective equipment over just about every inch of there bodies these days but not there face. This makes no sense what so ever. Jacques Plante was the first goalie to wear a face mask in hockey, and he revolutionized the position of goalie and the game of hockey itself. I've actually looked up the NHL rules regarding the wearing of a full facemask by a player other than a goalie. And from what I read it appears that it is illegal for a player to wear more than a half face shield except in cases of a player who is recovering from a previous facial injury. Anyway, I think this is a rule that should and shortly will be changed and we will soon see full face masks become the norm if not mandatory for all NHL players. It just makes sense with skilled players being multi million dollars investments for teams. Why would you not want to protect them? Also it might not seem like a big deal for players to have an extra few inches of clear plastic covering there entire face, but anyone who has ever played with both a full visor and also with no face protection can tell you that the psychological difference between going into a corner at full speed and battling for a loose puck is a night and day difference between having your face protected and not.

    • @GasPassingRuss
      @GasPassingRuss Год назад

      The fact that he is the only player wearing a full face mask has nothing to do with his intelligence. Because he was under 18 at the time of the WC, he is required to wear a full face guard. Players 18 and older can resort to the visor.

    • @Nicholas-ho8xj
      @Nicholas-ho8xj Год назад

      @@GasPassingRuss The point of my comment really had little if anything to do with Conner Bedard and was more about how stupid it is that the NHL doesn't allow it's skilled players to protect the most fragile part of the body, the face, with protective equipment, when every other part of the body is covered. It's just plain stupid.

Doesn't every single player that comes into the NHL have to contend with the speed, size, strength, experience, intelligence and physicality of NHL players?

    Funny you Toronto haters must not know Auston Matthews and Sydney Crosby are his two favorite players. That curl and drag Bedard loves to do was from watching hundreds of hours on RUclips watching Matthews take that shot that "HE" made famous and Bedard gives all the props to Matthews . He is a Crosby / Matthews hybrid . End of story

    He had to wear a full helmet because he is 17 that’s the junior rules. If he was 18 he can wear a half one.
