Not really WJC but my hometown player (Dylan Cozens) scoring the game tying goal at the buzzer to send Canada to overtime against the US in the Hlinki-Gretzky Cup 2018 Semi-Finals.
Obviously missing one important fact. Slovak line was on the ice over 2 minutes. They were exhausted and barely moving. 100% agree Bedard got huge potency. Will see how his first season goes.
I've had privilege to watch the best players of all time growing up number 99 he's very close to his talent also watched Lindros Badard has potential to be somewhere between both!!
He probably won't, but the amount of pressure on him going into the NHL is insane. Obviously he has the skills. I think his biggest challenge is dealing with that pressure, mentally.
Man I wish the habs got him Blackhawks you better do bedard good. I remember watching this game when bedard scored that goal me and my family went nuts
Connor is incredible, however, when you watch him in Jr. A environment he has a lot of room to manoeuvre. Let’s see how he plays in the NHL where the players are faster and more physical.
So good, his team finished 5th in the Conference, 11th overall, and only won 2 playoff games. Before anyone says a thing, look at what Crosby did his last year before pro. They win a Memorial Cup if the event is held in any other of the 59 CHL cities
Related to Bedard: I saw so many people who were hacking on him for ONLY doing 14 pull ups. Most people don't even know anyone who can do 14 pull ups, in fact, most people can't do 5. Right now, Google says that if one can do 12-15 they are in the highest percentile.
@@JunkBondTrader I don't think so. Younger players may be doing more of that kind of training but it would be surprising to me if guys over a certain age coukd do many. The young prospects can do quite a few...like Bedard was maybe 10th in that regard but many people who are trained to an elite level can't do many pull ups, it's often very specific training. I would love to know what the players in general can do and I wouldn't even care if I was wrong but as a long time trainer, pull up 'masters' are incredibly rare.
All the haters are jealous of Connor Bedard. I think people should just enjoy watching him play and wish him the best in NHL. There are plenty of great smaller players in NHL. Martin St. Louis Cliff Ronning and Gretzky were smaller players and they were incredible players.
As a Hawks fan I think he needs a year or two to bulk up, and get used to playing with the big boys. Bedards Future is bright but he’s really young so we got time😤
Gotta love the, "Yeah, he's good against other junior players but let's see how he does against the pros" comments as if nobody has thought of that before them. Isn't that how it works for literally every player that comes through juniors? Doesn't every single player that comes into the NHL have to contend with the speed, size, strength, experience, intelligence and physicality of NHL players?
Iv seen him score THREE goals while flying mid air. At a Pats game he was cutting across the crease and got tripped and while supermaning he swatted the puck top corner. Nastiest goal I have ever seen in person.
Watching this video was the first time I agreed with any of the hype surrounding Conner Bedard as a standout hockey player. And the only reason I felt like that was because he's the only player on the ice wearing a full face mask. To me it showed that he's got intelligence that surpasses most other players. Why would you not wear a full face mask when you are playing the fastest sport in the world, where the puck is constantly traveling at speeds up to 100 miles an hour? Players wear protective equipment over just about every inch of there bodies these days but not there face. This makes no sense what so ever. Jacques Plante was the first goalie to wear a face mask in hockey, and he revolutionized the position of goalie and the game of hockey itself. I've actually looked up the NHL rules regarding the wearing of a full facemask by a player other than a goalie. And from what I read it appears that it is illegal for a player to wear more than a half face shield except in cases of a player who is recovering from a previous facial injury. Anyway, I think this is a rule that should and shortly will be changed and we will soon see full face masks become the norm if not mandatory for all NHL players. It just makes sense with skilled players being multi million dollars investments for teams. Why would you not want to protect them? Also it might not seem like a big deal for players to have an extra few inches of clear plastic covering there entire face, but anyone who has ever played with both a full visor and also with no face protection can tell you that the psychological difference between going into a corner at full speed and battling for a loose puck is a night and day difference between having your face protected and not.
The fact that he is the only player wearing a full face mask has nothing to do with his intelligence. Because he was under 18 at the time of the WC, he is required to wear a full face guard. Players 18 and older can resort to the visor.
@@GasPassingRuss The point of my comment really had little if anything to do with Conner Bedard and was more about how stupid it is that the NHL doesn't allow it's skilled players to protect the most fragile part of the body, the face, with protective equipment, when every other part of the body is covered. It's just plain stupid.
I mean lots of players that were stars in the juniors fizzled in the NHL to just great players but not generational… Bedard needs to at least get 48 points in 45 games to be as good as mcdavid was in his rookie year but I’d expect more cause Chicago is better now than Edmonton was in mcdavids rookie year
