I like the .63 5th on these gear boxes. Makes running 4:10s on the street and highway much more tolerable.
I also like the 2.95 1st gear with 4.10's

I bench pressed the transmission it on my 86 project. After that experience, I invested in a trans jack 😂

You know people say these transmissions are weak , but it all comes down to the way you drive it! I'm sure you could blow up a T56 behind a pretty standard 6.0 LS within a month if you drove around like a dickhead doing hi rpm clutch drops and slam shifts. The secret is to drop the clutch a little and let the weight of the car take up the slack in the driveline before feeding the power in, you can actually drive it pretty hard without hurting it if you use the right technique. Remember - smooth = fast
So just slip the clutch for a sec or so before letting it all the way out?

Idk what my trans actually is.. but it came out of an 89 Mustang and it had Auto trans fluid in it, shifted ok ... But when I switched to synchromesh it shifts a lot smoother and it's more of a pleasure to drive
Just pulled out my aod transmission out of my 91 gt last weekend , first rebuild after almost 30 years + new stall 2500 & 410s can't wait till it's finished..

I use Castrol merc / dex works awesome. Tmw I'm switching to the Purple Sync mesh for the drive to Ford takeover
i hate spills. after learning the hard way and taking a bath in dex/merc, I always refill the transmission through the top where the shifter sits.
its just easier.

Definitely is I’m in the middle of carb swapping and just finished up 5 speed swapping my 94 gt still has stock gears but they’ll be changed to 4.10s soon but I got gt40 cobra heads from a 93 cobra and a speed master single plane with a qft 650 double pumper it runs pretty decent but I know she’s got more in her
gear oil in tremec is what manual said for cobra R trans i had

Great video.. love the content.. but when u said old trans was out of 94/95.. then saw u leave in bellhousing.. is the new trans from a 94/95. I thought there was input shaft length difference between fox and sn95 trans..
I swapped the input shaft 👌 good eye
I use Royal purple synchromax. Was that a steeda tri-ax shifter?? I just installed one and I love it.

Love your content brew2l, I have an 89 gt 5.0 that is sitting in parents garage for 15yrs, years ago took wrong path in live and car just sat, now everything is good and want to bring car back for my son who loves it, tried to start other day but no fuel pressure at schrader valve, if I squirt gas in throttle body car runs, any help where to start will be greatly appreciated thanks

I use synchromesh in my tremec 3550 with no issues but thinking about switching to atf to see if it improves cold shifting

Have a 93 lx with t-5 with 3.35 1st and 2.73 rear gears. Looking to get this trans it has a 2.95 1st and will be putting in 3.73 car is basically stock. How much of a difference will it be
what was your clutch of choice for your setup in this video at this time of your build. this is kinda the set up i want for mine.
