Thanks for the review! I purchased the Kumio and used it to make incredible ice cream with almond and two scoops of protein powde, it turned out fantastic!
Oh, awesome! I'm glad to know that it worked well for protein ice cream. I haven't tried that yet, but a lot of folks have asked about it. Glad I can tell them it works. Thanks for watching!
I think the reason most people purchase the Ninja creami is that you can make ice cream like desserts with lower calorie ingredients. Can you just dump a whole can of peaches in the kumio and get sorbet?
The Ninja is definitely good for that. It’s the actual ice cream I didn’t like. Honestly, I’m not much of a sorbet fan. But I should definitely test it out and report back! Thanks for watching!
I have a regular Cuisinart ice cream maker, and also a huge Cuisinart ice cream maker with a compressor; I also have the Ninja Creami, but I enjoy my Ninja Creami a lot better out of all of them! I've had some slip ups here and there, but you just have to know what you're doing because I certainly make perfect ice cream that isn't at all greasy! In my opinion, they all have vantages, and disadvantages, but I rarely use the ice cream makers anymore, because I enjoy my Creami so much! I actually loved my first Ninja Creami so much that I purchased a second one just in case anything happened to the first one...haha! Thanks for the recipe though, I'm going to try it in each machine!
It’s great you’re trying to promote a product for others who aren’t interested in the creami BUT Your selling point is only your personal preference. The selling point to the ninja creami was to make ice cream from ingredients that you can’t normally make ice cream with. Which is dairy, sugar and fat. Most recipes on the Internet for the ninja creami include almond milk. Almond milk is not a traditional ingredient for ice cream as it doesn’t freeze correctly because of its lower fat. Also People who truly wanted the ninja creamy were people who wanted to make ice cream that was less in calories. I bought the ninja creami so I didn’t have to keep buying halo top ice cream which is like 5 dollars a pint, I can make higher protein ice cream and because I can make my ice cream lower calorie I can eat the entire pint.
What use almond milk? If you’re buying it at the store, read how commercial almond milk is made. In the US, almonds are sprayed with PPO - not something you want to be consuming regularly. It’s also basically water with 8-12 almonds per quart, plus chemicals. You can make your own (which I have done, w/org. Non-spayed almonds from Spain), add more almonds and skip the chemicals.👍 Coconut milk is a healthier choice overall.
@@rbb2292As someone who used to work in one of the plants that makes Silk milk alternatives, I would recommend against most factory-made alternative milk options if you have the choice. The titanium dioxide used to whiten it to look more like cow milk requires insane amounts of scrubbing and chemicals to remove from the milk tanks. I hate to think what it does to our insides! And the coconut milk has added flavoring to make it taste more like cow milk, but in its concentrated form it smells sooo bad that there's no way it's good for you. And so many people are sensitive to the gums and stabilizers they add to give the drinks a better mouth feel. They're really inflammatory, so if you have any sort of GI issues, allergies, or sensitivities then I recommend avoiding them.
Hey there! I haven't made protein ice cream in the Kumio. But I imagine you probably could. If you can make it in a regular ice cream maker, you can make it in the Kumio. The NInja might be a little easier to clean because (if I remember correctly), the parts are dishwasher safe. But the Kumio parts need to be hand washed. However, it just takes a second to wash them. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the review. I’ve been saving for a Ninja Creami. After watching your video, I might try the Kumio. Currently I use a Cuisinart ice cream maker but I am not satisfied with it, especially in the summer time, the ice cream is super runny.
If you get the Kumio, let me know how you like it! The ice cream from the Kumio is a little softer than store-bought. But we love the texture, and after you freeze it a little longer, it’s closer to regular ice cream. Thanks for watching!
I've been considering getting a Ninja Cremi. Now I'm kind of rethinking things. I like that you don't have to freeze the container or the ingredients ahead of time with the Kumio. Nice review.
Thank you for watching! I also didn’t like that you have to pre-freeze the ingredients for the Creami. It isn’t the end of the world, but the Kumio is much faster and better overall.
The Ninja is just so darn loud. I returned from Amazon. I do enjoy the frozen drinks, but the noise is ghastly. I do notice the compressor does have a better texture compared to the Ninja. I have another brand, not the Kumio, but similar to your experience, except the sound.
And not be able to switch flavors in a drop kf a hat? I don't think so. It's not 100%, but it's pretty close. My icea cream was never greassy, ever! But thanks for the video
Thank you for this! I've been looking into Ninja vs compressor based ones for a while. I actually kind of like that the Ninja only takes 5 minutes to be ready, as long as you prepare everything in advance. The compressor ones will always take at least 45 minutes. That along with that the Ninja can make other things like slushi, etc. does make it an appealing option. But for me, I think the biggest con is that I've heard that it's VERY loud? I live in an apartment with fairly thin walls so I'm not sure it will be super popular to have that thing going off like a jet engine for 5 minutes straight, regardless of the hour of day ... XD And to contradict myself here, not having to plan with a compressor one does allow for more freedom. BAH! This is hard. But I'm leaning towards a compressor one! Have you tried other things than regular ice cream in it? Sorbet? Gelato? Slushi? Frozen yoghurt? Other?
Hey there! Thanks for watching! Yes, the Creami is loud, but it's pretty short-lived-it only takes a minute or so. I haven't tried sorbet or gelato yet. However, the booklet that came with the Kumio has sorbet and frozen yogurt recipes, so it's definitely possible. For me, having to pre-freeze the ingredients was a pain. It's not awful. It's just a little hard for me to prep in advance sometimes because I have a lot of moving parts in my day. So being able to make ice cream on the fly is really helpful. Let me know what you decide!
perfected ice cream, the term is “ french pot” the kumio is a modern french pot, a traditional method of ice cream making. the “old fashioned ice cream maker ( bucket, motor salt and ice) french pot, the Cowsar , Cuisinart, Whynter, and commercial soft serve, all french pot! the Creami is absolutely not a french pot, it’s some strange frozen food blending system, that mechanical cuts down ice crystals, a french pot freezes extremely tiny ice crystals creating smooth ( creaminess) ice cream.
Oh, interesting! I didn't know that's what it is called. In my experience, the Creami is good for things like sorbet. But it doesn't compare to a French pot! Thanks so much for watching!
this is just like that time you discover another burger joint that makes a bigger, better-tasting, higher quality, faster delivery, lower-price burger on a better bun with superior fixins'... hahahaha!!!!
Hahaha, yes, it never ends. 🤣 I’m sure someone will come out with a new ice cream maker down the road that I’ll like better. But for now this one is great. And also, I’m actually making burgers for dinner right now. 🤣🤣🤣
Oh man. Where did you get it? We got ours at Costco because they have a great return policy. We actually just returned our Creami to Costco yesterday because they have a two year window. We were still within the two years (by about a month), and they happily took it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you got it at Costco! 🤞
You had me at “ready in 45 minutes” vs “ready in 24 hours.”
Yes! It’s really fast. Waiting 24 hours isn’t the worst thing in the world. But 45 minutes is pretty awesome! Thanks for watching! ❤️
Thanks for the review! I purchased the Kumio and used it to make incredible ice cream with almond and two scoops of protein powde, it turned out fantastic!

Can you use the recipes from ninja in the kumio?
You would need a blender, but the creami is limited to what fruits you can use and it has to be in syrup.

I agree that they all have their advantages and disadvantages. And I'm glad you have had a great experience with the Creami. Thanks for watching! ❤️

What a good review! I was hesitant to purchase the ninja, and am glad you confirmed my suspicions.
Thank you for watching!
Ditto! We’ll be getting the Kumio after watching this. Wish I could find it for less than $139 though!
Can you make healthy or protein ice cream with this? Which one is easier to clean?

Im actually thinking about returning my ninja (just bought it 2 days ago) for the kumio
We actually just returned our Creami yesterday. We love the Kumio! If you get it, let me know how you like it. Thank you for watching!
