Stu Heiss is an unrecognized guitar god. And Wendy is an amazing singer. Glen is a classic rock blues legend. Great song writer... great band. I've been listening since 1986. Heaven and Hell tour was my first concert at aged 12.

I have attended several REZ concerts, and trust me, the are not only accomplished musicians and song writers, but also spreaders of the gospel message.
Glenn and Wendy Kaiser and the Rez band have operated a mission in inner city Chicago for over 30 years, and much of the proceeds earned from their albums goes to support the
mission, where they have fed, clothed and housed literally thousands over the years.
At their concerts, they play and sing their hearts out for an hour and a half, then Glen will teach and preach for another hour, then give an altar call to whosoever will.
I've seen young people give their lives to the Lord, as well as their parents that took them to the concert, on site. They have had a very effective ministry over the years.
THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL ! ! !
A lot of their music also is about social injustices, whether real or perceived, they do make one think.
BTW, I’m 73 years old, and STILL listen to REZ quite often. My children are all grown with families of their own, and they also still listen to them,
    and their children as well.

The Resurrection Band are superb, particularly ‘Colours’ and ‘Mommy Don’t Love Daddy…’
Unfortunately I’ve never seen them live but if I did I think I’d probably leave after the first hour and a half.
Glenn’s a great singer but it sounds like the second half of the show would be pretty dull. 🥱

Rez is a wonderful band and quite unique in the Christian scene. Far from the comfortable and goofy lyrics that dominate a certain evangelical sector, Rez's lyrics are always challenging and committed to social justice. That is something I will always respect and appreciate about this band.
Chair is a song that portrays the marginalized life of a person with mobility problems, who is dependent on a wheelchair. It questions to what extent disability is more social stigma and exclusion, rather than the person's own condition.
Now, if there's one album you should check out in its entirety, it's Lament. In my opinion one of the most beautiful works of art in the history of rock, without exaggeration. It is a concept album full of poetry and feeling. The search and the pain of a human being who seeks to find meaning in existence. The production of Ty Tabor is awesome and maturity of the group is evident. It is the last full studio álbum of the band. If I were to recommend a single song from that album, I'd say you must check out “Mirror”! Greetings from Costa Rica brother! 🇨🇷

    3. Greg X. Volz = PETRA Lead Singer
    4. The Chair is about being confined to a wheelchair - very POWERFUL song!
    5. Lyrics:
    Paralyzing facts, countless diseases
    Semi-mobile, semi-useless subhuman
So many startled eyes say it: "Only an occasional ray of light...but feel free to subtract any ray of hope."
    Disabled, confined, labeled and shelved
Minus limbs, minus movement, minus worth
"So sorry," they say, but they forget me
Once a year they buy themselves that right
    We want understanding, not pity
We need love, not occasional headlines
We've been used, abused, and aborted for years
And I've learned not to expect respect for my tears
    Regular check-ups, needles, and charts
The nodding of heads and the shedding of hearts
My legs are defenseless, this chair is my cell
My food is my medicine, reality hell
    Disabled, confined, labeled and shelved
"So sorry," they say, but they forget me
Once a year they buy themselves that right
    We want understanding, not pity
We need love, not occasional headlines
We've been used, abused, and aborted for years
And I've learned not to expect respect for my tears

Resurrection Band, Rez Band or Rez are the same band. They were formed in 1971 or 1972 and lasted until around 2000. They released 13 studio albums: Awaiting Your Reply (1978), Rainbow's End (1979), Colours (1980), Mommy Don't Love Daddy Anymore (1981), DMZ (1982), Hostage (1984), Between Heaven n Hell (1985), Silence Screams (1988), Innocent Blood (1989), Civil Rites (1991), Reach of Love (1993), Lamant (1995), Ampendomy (1997). They released 2 live albums: Bootleg (1984) and 20 Years (1992) and a Box Set in 2008. They are mostly blues based Hard Rock with the occasional Pop/New Wave song and some really intense Heavy Metal songs. They write about social issues of society like being disabled like the song you mentioned, the poor and needy, the effects of fighting in a war and the after effects many veterans struggle and go through (Military Man), etc. Lead guitar player Stu Heiss is one of the most underrated guitar players.

In the Toronto (Canada) area, Resurrection Band would tour every year through the 80's and I was fortunate to see them 5 or 6 times. They were one of those bands that didn't leave any energy in the tank. The quality of the live sound was exceptional. During the mid-80's and early 90's, a Toronto Band called The Daniel Band would open for Rez (or Resurrection) Band. Incidentally, the lead singer of Resurrection Band, Glen Kaiser, was a key motivator for the Daniel Band and they went on to produce 5 or 6 albums of their own. The lead singer for the Daniel Band was always compared to another Toronto Band that you may have heard of, Rush. When you have a chance, listen to 'Run From the Darkness' by The Daniel Band when you have a chance. Back to Resurrection Band, their dedication to the quality of music and the production of their albums led Rez Band to build their own studio, Tone Zone Studio, in Chicago. This studio was of very high quality and still runs today. The Rez Band's contribution to the music industry has been amazing but little is known about this. These are very humble folks and a great example to our society.

Rez, along with Petra, are certainly well regarded as Christian rock pioneers. "Altar of Pain" and any live version "Where Roses Grow" are favorites. They definitely have videos / DVD.
Ive seen Glenn Kaiser in concert several times, but never Rez.
Regarding associated acts, Whiteheart is a favorite and "Invitation" or "Let the Kingdom Come" is a decent enough intro to the band. Whiteheart for a time ( _Freedom_ album) had players in the act who are now well regarded touring and A-list session musicians in the industry (especially if you follow Country music). I guarantee you have heard at least two of these first three multiple times.:
    Gordon Kennedy - guitar
    Chris McHugh - drums
    Tommy Simms - bass
    Also
    John Knox: drums
    Dann Huff - guitar
    David Huff - drums
    Brian Wooten - guitar

Hey Shane REZ band started in 1973-2006. They had 17 albums in total ranging from Rock to Metal. The line up stayed the same throughout the years. They were a Christian mission minded band and would play concerts anywhere and everywhere. They are several documentaries made about them. They also started on of the biggest Christian music Fests in the USA. Cornerstone Fest which started in 1984-2012. Glenn Kaiser the lead singer is still doing music. His style is blues, rock and metal. His current band is called GKB (Glenn Kaiser Band)

Resurrection Band was their original name. It later got shortened (by fans) to simply Rez Band. The Chair is a 1st person perspective of the anger and confusion of a disabled person confined full-time to a wheelchair and how so many able-bodied people look down at the disabled, feeling justified to do so simply because they've given a donation to some charity that helps the disabled. Another good Rez song you had mentioned is Military Man which addresses the PTSD that vets go thru after returning home from war. From the Rainbow's End album, a good song is Affricans. That is (as far as I know) the only anti-aparthied song recorded here in the west

Resurrection Band, Rez Band, and Rez are all the same group. They are originally from Minnesota but have lived in Chicago since the 70s. So they have a real rock-blues feel to most of their music. Glen and Wendy are pastors as Jesus People, a Christian commune in Chicago. Stu Heis now pastors a small church in the Chicago suburbs. They were a precursor to bands like Stryker. They paved the way for them. Really good people.

I suggest pulling the lyrics on that song. It’s about how the disabled are perceived and treated in our society. Rez are one of Christian musics anchor bands that started it all like Petra, Stryper, and others. Saw them in Carson city in 1986 and was blown away. Seen Glenn perform solo stuff since and he is still amazing. Gift to the church and world.

Resurrection Band, Rex Band or Rez....whatever name they go by they are awesome!!
So to answer you question they have albums with all three of the names I mentioned. The first albums from the '70s they went by Resurrection Band. In the early '80s they changed to Rex Band. And later went by Rez. Colours is not their last album that came out in '82.
My favorite albums would be Between Heaven n Hell and Silence Screams
Now to talk to the related artists a little...
White Heart is a pop/rock sometimes pop metal band. On a related note to this band, they recorded one of my all time favorite songs called Independence Day from the album Power House. I'll put in a request for it.
Larry Norman is a singer/song writer that started his career in the late '60s
DeGarmo & Key is a rock band that began in the late '70s. They don't play metal. Think Simon and Garfunkel but more rock.
Greg X Volz is the original singer from the band Petra. Petra went from folk rock to straight up metal by the end of their careers.
Daniel Amos is not the name of a person but the name of a band formed in the mid '70s. Christian Rock is what I would classify them as.
One Bad Pig is possibly one of the greatest Punk bands out there
Glenn Kaiser is one of the greatest blues guitarists/singer/song writers and is one of the lead singers from Resurrection Band but has several solo albums.
If and when you do Holy Soldier I really suggest the song When the Reign Comes Down from the first self titled album. Slammin Tune.

"Rainbow's End" and "Colours" and "DMZ" were also favorite albums of mine back in the day. As I recall, I saw them i nconcert 3 times in the'80's, and I got to hear them reunite at the Cornerstone festival about 10 or 11 years ago out in the boonies up in Illinois. The kid on the front is Rick Vaughn (Williams) as he was known by when the picture was done for the album cover. He was killed in LA when he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle late at night.

I think you got most of your questions answered. If The Chair is not your style you can try their later albums. Music for Glenn was purely the gift they used to reach out and share the love of Jesus. "Live for him, love from us" he would sign on one of the first three albums the band members signed for me. Glenn made a great effort to move with the popular music of the day. They started as Resurrection Band, a heavy metal sound that later evolved into a more progressive new age sound. The goal was always to preach the word for God through music and if that meant they had to change their sound and name to Rez to better appeal to the young people, then so be it. I can't say enough about this band and seen them every time they came to Ontario Canada or New York State, often following them to the next location.. Their music helped me get through some tough times in my life and I will be so ever grateful to them as a band and to God in leading them to create Resurrection Band in the first place. Your viewers may not be aware of this song of theirs that they never recorded - a truly original that you will not find on any of their albums ruclips.net/video/jjAIuaaIDIk/видео.html
The Chair would be played by Stu using his two neck guitar and the solo was done by Glenn. Glenn's solos are very distinctive from Stu's by having that fantastic rock blues style. Another song they trade off solo's is in their Bootleg album "Quite Enough" They would play that song only in concerts before it was recorded. "The Man I Used to Be" was never that lucky to get recorded - Enjoy

I’ve never heard this song before but I thought it was a very solid song. I saw them live in the 80”s and was quite impressed with them. Awesome, friendly group and very talented musically. Thx for playing this!! I’d like to see ur review of Guardian The power of Love. FYI… Barren Cross lead singer (the lead singer changed his name)now has another band called Gale Force. Maybe a review of Subhuman??

Hey Shane…great review of a classic Rez Song. The song is about a disabled person in a wheelchair, talking about despair, discrimination, needing understanding. That gives you a better perspective of the lyrics.

Resurrection band is my all-time favorite band, followed by Wovenhand and 16 Horsepower. On Facebook friends with the lead singer Glenn Kaiser. The song is about somebody who is confined to a wheelchair and the despair that they have in their life until they meet Jesus.
The earpiece might mess up the vocals a little bit. Listening on my phone I could understand every word. Of course I've heard the song many times. My favorite crunchy song is Military Man.

Colors came out in 1980. I think the 2010 was a remastered version. Great album though. Rez is the same band. They shortened the name on Hostage-1984. This is my all time favorite band and that will never change. I can listen to their music all the time.

BTW - Here are my Rez Band favorites in no particular order (Not all are heavy. You can tell the era each came from by their sound.): Zuid Afrikan, Walk On, 2000, Tears in the Rain, Broken Promises, Gameroom (from Live Bootleg), Shadows, Love Comes Down, Rain Dance, and the Glenn Kaiser voiced songs from the album Colours. I love the first half of Autograph from Colours. I've just never liked Wendy's voice.

Yes, Rez band and Resurrection band are the same band. However the band has had different member Glenn and Wendy Kaiser were the core of the Band in which they traded the role of lead vocals.Glenn is also the lead guitarist since the end of Rez he has put out several Electric/ Acoustic Blues albums under his personal name or GKB. Glenn has recently been involved in the cigar box blues revival making and selling cigar box guitars as well as releasing a Cigar Box album. In the blues world Glenn is fairly well known and held in regards with the likes of Joe Bonamassa and other modern blues artist. I would recommend checking out "Blacktop" album and the title track. Although not metal this album has a Z.Z. Tops/Cinderella/Ratt feel to the album maybe a little AC/DC mixed in there. Any how thank for the review love the appreciation of good music!
