I think most of us think the World Grand Prix is one of the best elements of this film. It’s a perfect way to show McQueen at the peak of his career, the second chapter of his 3 part arc.
The biggest problem I have with Cars 2 is how it fundamentally destroys its universe by adding so much things to the universe that they might as well have turned them into humans. If this film didn’t exist maybe people will look back at the cars movies as decent additions to Pixar’s catalog and not known as the franchise that sent Pixar on a downward trend.
The amount of quality writing and editing in this video is shockingly good that I was surprised when I saw your amount of subs, you definitly deserve more man. Looking foward for your next videos
It's a terrible film but I do occasionally rewatch clips of it every 2-3 years. Cars 2 feels like it's supposed to be a Mater spinoff film that was meant to reveal Mater having a very complex past (former spy, repressed memories) but walked away from that life for something else. It also felt like the original writer wanted to send a message through the "spy" aspect of the show that Mater simply enjoy the little things in life and learning to accept who he once was
You know what’s the biggest problem with Cars 2 is that literally everything the stuff they put in the movie is not even anything near to Cars it felt more like a human movie than a Cars movie like beer food iPhones and other random stuff this why this movie is a huge flop
The shy shaman is Sophia, from Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. She joins Roy’s army midway through the game, at level 1, unpromoted with abysmal stats. If you want the best ending, she must survive the chapter she joins in, which is a desert map with fog of war and a turn limit. The Asian mechanic looking lady behind Sophia is Rose Tico, from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. You’re better off watching the film yourself to see why she sucks.
I love how this movies poster has Lightning McQueen front and center, trying to trick people into thinking he’s the main character again, even though he’s not. So if they needed to put Lightning in front because he was more marketable, and needed to adjust the rest of the cast to be stupid so Mater could seem like a more competent main character, then, bold idea Pixar: don’t make Mater the main character! If this is like Minions where you gave them their own movie BECAUSE they were marketable, then I understand. But if Mater isn’t marketable, nor is he able to properly lead a story, then why did they even think it was a good idea? I’m not enabling the mindset of doing things and making decisions for the sole purpose of money, but they could at least be bothered to make smart decisions for a cash grab. I really loved Mater in the first movie, but he just doesn’t work as the protagonist.
And to be honest, at least there was story that could be told with the minions (the time before they met Gru and the time they worked under Gru in his early villain days).
16:17 I actually like that Pixar chose to do these things for maters dream, because that’s what dreams are like. You quite often see people that you haven’t met before or the dream is augmented instead of replaying exactly what happened!
I really enjoyed cars 2. Honestly, I think Cars is a good trilogy . Cars 1 was a masterpiece. It has a great opening. Good events and character development, how radiator springs changed McQueen and how McQueen changed them. How at the beginning McQueen was so selfish and piston cup obsessed. But at the end, he just left it and helped strip weathers. ------------------ Cars 3 was decent and had amazing race scenes. But it didn't give any new ideas and ignored some information. McQueen’s problem was struggling to beat storm. But actually it’s the same issue as Cars 2 when McQueen had a challenge to beat francesco. It is not a whole new idea. How could McQueen beat a 224m/h car but can’t beat a 210m/h one? Did he get new parts from Ramone that made him faster? If yes, why didn't he do the same in Cars 3?! They didn't even explain it nor mentioned it. ------------------ My issue with Cars 2 that it had so much potential to be the greatest in the franchise. They had the best race tracks and the best race cars. All of the 11 racers including new look McQueen were nice-looking cars. I mean look at shu todoroki. I am pretty sure every Japanese will be so proud to see him and might want to have him as a toy cause he looks gorgeous. Nigel Gearsley, Max Schnell, Lewis Hamilton, Jeff gorvette all of them were pretty. But the movie did nothing with them and prefered spy stuff. When you look at any of them you can say “he might be a side character or a friend to McQueen” since they all look well-designed. I wanted to see more Jeff & Lewis scenes; they had good chemistry and friendship. Overall. Cars 2 is an enjoyable movie in my humble opinion. He might be the weakest in the franchise but still good.

You know, this is what I feel like this should happen. So back in 2004, they released The Incredibles, a lot of people say it's one of the best films of all time while I find it overrated. The biggest issue I have with The Incredibles is animation, it's a two-hour movie, and the rendering sucks and that is the biggest flaw that is keeping me from calling it a masterpiece like everyone else. I think The Incredibles is a good movie, but it also feels like a chore because the animation is not good, it has torn my experience, but not in a horrible way. Finding Nemo has phenomenal animation, I have no idea how Pixar fucked it up with this one. So you might be asking, how does this relate to Cars 2? Well since Cars have better animation than The Incredibles, Cars should've been an experiment project because of the animation. So I was thinking about this: what if The Incredibles came out in 2011 and Cars 2 came out in 2017? Do you know what I'm saying? Personally, The Incredibles would have been my favorite Pixar movie if the animation was better and everyone agreed that Cars 3 is the real Cars 2. And as a Cars fan, I would love to see it as a trilogy if Cars 2 was right but for everyone else, it works as a duology.
I think The Incredibles is one of the best movies because it has mostly great animation, with some flawed backgrounds, but all that is made up for by its incredible (no pun intended) story, which is far deeper and more emotional than you give it credit for. This movie sucks on almost every level.

So in 2011 in high school my class went a trip to the movie theatres and do you know what movie we saw we saw kung fu panda 2 a movie with mature emotional moments proper comedy and an excellent voice performance from Gary oldman as lord Shen I got more from that film than this piece of sh🐬t. yes I know kung fu panda 2 came out before cars 2 but even if it didn’t I’m still glad my teachers picked kung fu panda 2 instead of this joke of a Pixar movie like When this movie received heavy criticism John Lassiter’s response was and I quote “I don’t make movies for film critics I make movies for the audience” to which I say WHAT AUDIENCE JOHN?! Because it’s not for everyone if you’re telling me you made it for infants and babies then yeah I’d believe you because it’s just a movie you’d put on to keep your kid quiet because this isn’t a film for the whole family and much like Batman and Robin this film is just one giant toy commercial it’s sad that toy story a movie about toys has more emotion in it than this steaming pile of garbage so yeah if you want to watch an actual great animated movie from 2011 I advise you watch kung fu panda 2 or rango
I figure it's crazy how when the lemon Kingpin said that they stopped making parts for them that's basically saying the equivalent of they stop making life saving medications
I would like to add that I would much rather watch the Star Wars Prequels 50 times than watch this turd of a film. At least with those movies, it was George Lucas trying to make his own vision like he did for the Originals, and there were plenty of good moments in those movies despite the dialogue problems, the bad romance and boring political scenes. I don’t know what vision John Lasseter had with this movie, because it felt like it was tacked on at the last minute.
I have trouble believing that Pixar as a studio thought this was a good idea. I found out that they hated it so much that they wished they could forget its existence.
A lot of your points, are practically the exact same as another underrated RUclipsr called Trev views, not saying you copied him, it’s probably just a “genius think alike” situation.
And trust me, he didn't even hit ALL the problems with this movie. Like: Why is McQueen friends with Mater to begin with? They have nothing in common and its clear McQueen was not enjoying his time with Mater in the beginning of the movie.
Ya Know Platy…….What If There Was An Alternate Timeline Where Cars 2 In 2011 Didn’t Exist? And That The Cars 3 That Followed Is The Real Cars 2. What Would You Think Of That?
I think the Cars franchise would be better received if 2 didn't exist. The duology would still likely be in the lower halves of most Pixar rankings, but still.

14:45 . I have you something hilarious about this one. On the greek dub of the film, the song that Mater was singing was replaced by an old greek song of the 80's and it litterally says "i will take you to a cruise"😂.
Edit: Actually, I found out that besides Brad Lewis who helped write Ratatouille, none of Pixar's primary writers like Andrew Stanton and Pete Docter were involved, and that some other storyteller and a group of writers were brought in. Looking at most of their filmography, they don't have anywhere near the resume of both Stanton and Docter.

I've enjoyed Cars since I was 10 years old, but even I kept asking myself, "Where do the cars come from, though? How are cars created? What would I see inside a living school bus? Would there be seats?". Making a movie where everyone is an automobile is like making a movie where everyone is a computer, a toaster, or a house. They're all consumer products built by humans, for humans. You can't take humans out of this context. Sure, a car has way more personality and charisma than a toaster. People will get way more obsessed with a Ford Mustang, a Chevy Corvette, a Lincoln Navigator, or a Mercedes Benz S-Class than, say, a boring computer mouse. A car is bigger and more noticeable than a computer mouse is, so it's more impressive to look at. No one has a dream computer mouse, but a lot of folks have a dream car. At the end of the day, though, those are all consumer products like the computer mouse. They LITERALLY can't exist without humans. I can't say for sure whether Cars would ever have been as critically-acclaimed as Toy Story, The Incredibles, or Finding Nemo. But, I can say with 99% confidence that Cars' reception would've been way closer to the receptions of those movies had humans been there. No questions over how the world works. Instead of a typical (but fun, entertaining, and quirky) "jerk wad learns the value of friendship and community" story, we could've gotten a story that went deeper into mankind's relationship to the automobile. Believe it or not, Cars' storytelling potential could've been greatly expanded with the presence of humans. Maybe we could've gotten a storyline about how someone's relationship with their beloved living car slowly deteriorates from the person owning the racecar to the racecar owning the person. Such a story could've been an analogy to a toxic romantic relationship, including the financial havoc and the unhealthy dependence that can result from such a situation. Heck, they could've had a story where humans are gone, but the vehicles remember them. Some of the vehicles try to figure out their purpose in life without kids to carry to school or families to take on long road trips. Either one of these storylines could've connected to a larger commentary on how overly car-centric human society is. Cars still could've been a billion-dollar merchandising juggernaut because, you know, kiddies and their talking cars. It just could've had a story that was potentially more standout and unique, had humans existed in the series.
I think it is the absolute worst. I found almost nothing good about this movie besides the animation and a few characters. The story on the other hand is so bad.
I remember being so excited 4 a cars 2 at the time and boy was I disappointed when I watched it when it came out in 2011. I watched it again just now and I still hate it. I've never seen the 3rd one but I will and I hope it's better than the 2nd one. I always consider the 2nd one to be filler.
Do you think there was much more going on for the production of Cars 2 maybe John Lasseter actually misunderstood what made the Cars 1 a good movie or maybe Jon Lester did have any control over the movie and some other guy just said it's just a kids movie about talking cars

I think this movie was primarily John Lasseter’s idea and not all of Pixar.

I love this video. A video that summarizes my EXACT thoughts of cars 2
It's a terrible film but I do occasionally rewatch clips of it every 2-3 years. Cars 2 feels like it's supposed to be a Mater spinoff film that was meant to reveal Mater having a very complex past (former spy, repressed memories) but walked away from that life for something else. It also felt like the original writer wanted to send a message through the "spy" aspect of the show that Mater simply enjoy the little things in life and learning to accept who he once was
stay mad
Did You Use Influence From Schaffrilas?
Yep
You know what’s the biggest problem with Cars 2 is that literally everything the stuff they put in the movie is not even anything near to Cars it felt more like a human movie than a Cars movie like beer food iPhones and other random stuff this why this movie is a huge flop
11:57 Aside from Kairi, Peach and that character from Xenoblade, who were the others you showed?
------------------
Cars 3 was decent and had amazing race scenes.
------------------
My issue with Cars 2 that it had so much potential to be the greatest in the franchise.

How Shark Tale got nominated is a giant mystery. That movie was so awful in every way. Cars 2 is bad, but I would rather watch that instead.
2:59 It’s litteraly canon that there used to be humans in this world but then the cars and other vehicles took over.
I don’t think the animation is why everyone loves The Incredibles. It’s all about the writing when it comes to that movie.
I think The Incredibles is one of the best movies because it has mostly great animation, with some flawed backgrounds, but all that is made up for by its incredible (no pun intended) story, which is far deeper and more emotional than you give it credit for. This movie sucks on almost every level.
As of June 17, 2022, this movie is no longer the only time Pixar was only in it for the money.

I was a huge fan of tge first cars film. I went to see cars 2 in the cinema when I was 7. I remember liking it simply because it was a cars film. But I didn't rematch it despite having watched the first film hundreds of times. I lost interest in cars and only watched the third film recently
The first you said in this video was pretty much me.
That's not a bad idea, but I still am fine with the Cars series not having humans anywhere.
I’d still prefer cars 2 over Lightyear any day ngl
I actually love cars 2 and I’m gonna admit something I think cars 2 is the best Pixar
How did you like cars 3?
