Yet another bone player who wanted to play something else, at first. Myself, drums (frowned upon😂) then trumpet, but that small mouthpiece made me pick the trombone. Also I’m an alumni of SC State! And when I was Section Leader, Ron Westray was my Assistant Section Leader. It should have been the other way around.😂 I’m glad I caught this interview!
Ah man that's crazy! Westray is another one of the people that set me straight on the trombone! I'm gonna get him on an episode as well. HBCU'S representing the best of the best!
Wycliffe is the man!🔥
For sure!

Maannnn. Can I relate!! Wonderful interview. I had a chance to meet Wycliffe once. Truly genuine individual!
Wycliffe has helped me and so many others. His music is a reflection of him as a person. One of the most soulful cats I know!
Great insight.
Especially early childhood and how the 'Bone' choose you!
