Love that sweatshirt. He's all American rocker with a red, white, and blue electric guitar on the front.
Leather repair is a priceless art. Had many of my expensive horse tack fixed by our local cobbler who passed away. Great old shop he had too, filled with antiques. 👢🥾

The building looks like it is covered with the old sheet metal stone. I have wondered during what years that was produced.
It is great to see a craftsman still working. Hard to even find shoes today that will last long enough to be repaired.

I’m 82 and remember getting my shoes resolved. Loved watching them stretch the shoes on forms and tacking little nail where needed. The owner told me to takes a biscuit, open it and rub on my patent leather shoes to shine them. ( that word should be re-soled). This lovely man has made a fine living. So many wonderful crafts being lost.🎉

I live close to the town of madison where there used to be a shoe repair shop downtown. Our dad use to have our shoes repaired there when i was in school in the 70's. It has been closed for a number of years now, but the equipment is still there i think. I can see it each year when i go in to the DMV to get my sticker renewed.❤🙂

Sadly in these days most shoes don't have any thread in them. they are glued together. I grew up in the 60's and 70's into a young adult in 1976. I shined shoes in my home town of 14000 back then. Only 4800 now. rust belt of course on the upper Ohio river. Appalachian foothills. I could make 20 bucks easily in 4 or 5 hrs just going into the clubs on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and that was a lot of money back then. I grew up poor like most but my parents rarely had to give me any money. I had 2 paper routes and my shoe shine kit. I bought myself a brand new blue suede jacket in 1972, I was rockin it,
