Hmmm. What about "Dirty Work"?
I’m from MA wish you could come up this way
Hello sir gud am may I know the fb acct.of the pretty awesome girl?i
I'm a year late and on the wrong side of the country... lol... but I'd have been there if I could. I'm sure it was awesome! Cheers!
Ah, youth. I have hope for our future if the youngins' are covering the Dan.
I cant believe what I am watching!!!! fuck yeah.....
Bollocks! If th at were true Fagan and Co would've settled for playing covers of Chuck Berry. These youngsters are creatively dead.
Amen!
Right?!
Couldn't have said it any better.
I am 70 years old, I have seen Steely Dan 4 times live and these gentlemen and lady brought tears to my eyes. They are amazingly tremendous. So proud to see this generation attack the songs of my number one band. I am just blown away. I couldn't hit the subscribe button fast enough. Rock on guys.... ❤
I'm 60 and a lifelong Steely Dan fan; could not agree more with this comment, great work!
Just when I spent the last piaster I could borrow…….
Ditto. 66yr old inspired in your choice of music and very impressed with your cover. Sent chills down my spine!
Just the fact that these kids are into Steely Dan says so much about their understanding of music that I am speechless. Ask a younger person if they like SD and they look at you like your going to tell a Dad Joke. What’s a Steely Dan? These kids hit every nuance of this song. The horns are perfectly arranged. It sounds like Steely Dan with some fresh vocalists. Fantastic!
They can really pull it off nicely can't they. Very Impressive. All so far are really good, Roseanna, they nailed it. Still listening😊
I'm almost 64, and that was as great of a rendition as I've ever heard
Like wise brother I am 70.
Spot on. 63
61 ... Steely Dan incredible stuido band
so covers are not easy
@@a.barker7792 Class of '79
60 and Bravo!
Man, I gotta give you guys credit. Steely Dan couldn't even get a bunch of musicians to sound like Steely Dan half the time. Not only is it technically great, it's just a really good version of the song.
I'm 66 now. All I can say is wow. And excellent.
Something very calming about imagining this generation just cruising around listening to Steely Dan.
They obviously grew up with cool parents. 😀😀
There is hope for the world when young generation celebrates Steely Dan like here. This is outstanding and beautiful beyond words. Thank you.
Agreed
@@jb-ik8sj Ditto that
Yes, Steely Dan, the band of hope.
Too right!
I'm so grateful to have stumbled across across these Lads and Lass just an hour ago..
Instantly smitten is not an overstatement.
Such talent. 😊
Truth
Another cover that is the best on RUclips. Just wow. And it's so hard to copy Donald Fagan's vocals. BRAVO to you all.
Yeah I closed my eyes and DFs vocals came right to mind…
You nailed it👍🏼
The backing vocal takes you right to the studio version...outstanding!
I am a micro-organism ( 350,000,000 years old) and listening to this brings a tear to my nucleus
Shout out to the Brass. And the whole band. BRAVO. 👍👍👌
Thank you!
Yes!
Old fart here...I don't know how these kids found each other and decided to create this project but I'm dang happy they did!! Thanks for the smiles I get from every single video you do!!!
That song was recorded before you guys were born!!! This 62 yo man is impressed! And I'm glad the music that I loved in the late 70s lives. Well done!
As a 65 years old SD fan for over 45 years, I’m more than impressed about the level of musicianship and their choice of artist to cover
Good grief! It’s been a pretty long time since an actual band of young people blew my mind! I’m also stunned because no one has the balls to even attempt to cover Steely Dan! Great work you guys! 🤯
Thanks, Danny!
Here here!
On point. Loved the smooth backing vocals, and the lead vocalist even had that Fagan NY twist on the lingo. When the dude on the keyboard gave his solo away to the horn section, I about fell out of the recliner. It was clear that each member put their heart and soul into it, so I gave it a save to the old playlist.
Really nice job here you guys. Drummers got good time. FYI Leonid and Friends does an AMAZING cover of My Old School. On RUclips..
They do! As soon as I heard it, I went damn - they’ve got us beat!
Tight, crisp, and even a horn section. I have to say this has resurrected my faith in this generation recognizing good music and executing with panache and swagger.
Fagan and Becker demanded perfection in all their recordings. Y'all nailed it! Backup vocals, horns, solid rhythm section. Hope you're still playing together!
You are correct. They were perfectionists, and it showed in their Music.
Besides Fagen and Becker there were 32 different session musicians on Aja 7 songs 6 different drummers, They absolutely nailed every aspect of this song!
They would be proud if these youn ones for sure
Lead singer has nailed Donald's vibe
Especially on the "get out of heeeaah" on the chorus. This was great stuff.
Haha thanks! Yesterday, I met Bill Schnee, one of the three engineers on Aja! - Colman
Jealous @@LowDarts 😢
@@LowDarts Dang you lucky! I'm jealous, too. You earned it, tho, for sure. OK so on an engineering note, did you really track the vocals with SM58s or are they just props?
Yes yes yes. I’m older than my AI pic 😅
It's so nice to see young musicians who actually have TALENT.
Hands up if you didn’t want that guitar solo to end!!!
Gang just casually drops the hardest steely Dan covers like it’s nothing. Buddy has the best Fagen on RUclips ❤
Thanks man!
Great work guys I’m 65 and have seen steely Dan several times over the years and you guys held my attention
Been listening to the Dan for over 40 years. Aja was one of the first five albums I bought in my teens and is still one I can listen to over and over again - but this is the first time "Black Cow" ever gave me chills. Outstanding!
One drawback about Dan cover bands is that nobody ever quite gets Fagen's voice right. Colman nails it!
Thank you man! I tried my best!
Gr8t. Jhob! 2 "ALL" Of You!👍🏿❤🙏💯👌😊😎
@@LowDarts Get out of heah! I 😂 That cracked me up.
Have you ever seen Yacht Rock HD?
The best part is they are so into it!
He f’n nails it.
Spot on Donald Fagen voice, amazing
I love the ending lilt at the end of his phrases. He's definitely channeling Fagan.
Trumpet player - standout talent!
So good to see young dudes performing SD 70's stuff
I’m 59 and these are KIDS doing this!! Bravo !! I used to drum to this whole album back in 77’.
Walter and Don would be proud. Another example of awesomeness.
Pretty darned good! Glad to see the youngsters keeping The Dan alive.
The keyboard player is the definition of cool.
You are so absolutely correct!!!
which one?
@@bx3054 Both are incredible.
Both excellent, darker-haired is Victor Feldman’s wonderful ghost. Whoa
Reintroducing the gospel to a new generation of listeners. Carry on.
Imagine if Steely Dan Band members walked into this room - these kids would lose it! ❤😂 MAKE IT HAPPEN RUclips?!!
Not sure what to say here. Kinda speechless.
66 here and was a huge SD fan. Aja favorite VINAL album.
No fancy studio. No dubbing or sampling.
Wow.
THANK YOU younger generation for taking on the complexity of Steely Dan's music. Im mighty proud of you
This is the best cover of ‘Black Cow’ I’ve heard on RUclips. Outstanding group of young musicians!
Discovering steely dan is the greatest realization a person has
Anyone who covers The Dan loves music.what a great cover, more please.
Goddamn so good. Steely Dan can't be dated. No matter the year, Steely Dan is just impeccable. Great job people.
47 years later this group of youngin's can take this master piece from Steely Dan and recreate it a way that would make Donald and Walter smile does my heart good!
Donald Fagen was well known for recruiting only the very BEST, and hand picked - studio musicians of the 70's and early 80's studio musicians to breathe life into his masterpieces.. this is NOT easy music to play.... not only do the LD's NAIL it - they breathe new life into it also.. kudos to you guys.. reach for the stars kids.
Hands down, my favorite Low Darts cover. They give it the smoothness so characteristic of Steely Dan. I just love it!❤
The kids are alright !
Watching those talented kids covering real music is very reassuring.
Steely Dan would have been very proud...
I've been a massive Steely Dan fan for almost 50 years and you guys hit this song magnificently. So good to see young musicians who appreciate the classics.
I can sleep a little better knowing that there are "kids" like this in the world still. These young men and women are a bright light and big, deep breath of fresh air. Thank you, Low Darts. You're awesome, one and all!
It’s so pleasing to hear young people reviving those “Ebenezer Gezzer” music from the 70th .
Pure class. I tip my hat to the younsters in this video.
Thanks Dennis! Share it with your friends!
A validation of how the music of Steely Dan will never be dated . . . a FANTASTIC rendition 🎶🤘❤️
It's so great to see young musicians who appreciate the classic sounds of Steely Dan. Great job!!
I wish I could give y'all a like every time I come back to listen.
I remember when this song came out. A lot of people did not know how to process it. The voices were rockish, but the tune is heading towards jazz. Love that you guys did this. Very good work!
Hey that was all right I know if Don Fagan saw this I'm sure he would feel that y'all done him proud and Walter is looking down smiling
Made me smile.
Everything was perfect
Thanks, Joe!
Fantastic, young musicians!
Great to see the younger generation plaing some real music
Oh yes!!! You did this so well. I have been a life long fan of SD since high school, and this takes me back to when I was 20 when this first came out. You nailed it! I'm 67, past bass, drum, piano, and trumpet novest, and I still get that "thrill" from Steely Dan everytime I hear them, in all their incredible combinations of the best musicians. Donald Fagen and Walter Becker were and are true geniuses. RIP Walter! I'm the son of a semi-professional jazz pianist mother.
Those backing vocals are akin to molten silk, tenderly gracing the inner chambers of my auditory senses.
Been Listening to Steely Dan since the '70's'' and this a great cover.
As the backing Vocal chimes in " So Outrageous". It describes your Troupe.....so Cool, and just so RIGHT. THANK YOU!
What a talented bunch of young folks. Got a old boomer tapping his toes.
Great musicians already…. Look in 10 years from now……..👍👍👍
64 as well and loving this❤
Being a "senior" with baggege,I can't help but feel this is the best therapy one could ever get. Young people loving the good stuff.
I honestly can't believe this kid is hitting it out of the park. The backup vocals lovely, and the instrumentals are solid... this is really a well recorded song; just freakin' smooth as butter and intensely deep.
From a bassist.... a very nice tight bass track... well played, well recorded, and placed perfectly in the mix. Chuck Rainey would be proud.
More steely Dan please . This is great
Great job KEEP THE REAL MUSIC ALIVE. I grew up 60 miles South of Memphis and got to see all the cool bands. Today’s music sucks ✌️
Good lord!!!!! These kids are BRILLIANT. Difficult song to execute and they nail it. My fave Steely song 🎵❤
Mine too.
Their legacy started in 1975. That's a lot of songs.
But did they do 97 takes? :)
@trimetrodon I think we did 3-4 rhythm takes if I remember correctly
As proud AF of you guys! That you recognize the genius of Becker & Fagan as well as all those great sessions players is awesome. I've always considered any band doing good covers of Steely Dan to be full of excellent members. Not just any instrument player can do it but artists can! 62 y/o DanFan here glad he came across this video. Props
Trumpet player was excellent and added to the track we all know. Kudos!!!
Again, I am nothing but impressed by this group of kids...to take on the sophisticated arrangements of SD and make it sound so smooth...kudos to all!!
Been listening to Steely Dan for 50 years. These kids are incredible. Great cover
I had a serious band. These folk have a great cover of the song. Steely Dan would be proud.
As a lifelong Steely Dan fan I can say with authority: you guys KILLED it!!!!
Wow, love the fact that these college kids even know who Steely Dan is let alone sound AMAZING covering this song.
I have never heard this song before, to my surprise, but I would’ve absolutely pegged this as not only a Steely Dan song, but the group is actually singing it. Good job, guys!
This is such a classy cool song, one of many Steely Dan’s songs.
You all can’t tell me you didn’t enjoy playing and singing this song!?!
Great job…spot on too.
I had to laugh. First thought "a bunch of kids in a basement with instruments...been there" Then, the whole production; super professional! Taking on tough music originally done by perfectionists and Low Darts really have the chops.
When I see your young age and the quality of your production, I am silent (with admiration).
Certainly one of the best covers of this cult title of Steely Dan.
I'm such a jaded curmudgeon in regards to today's bleak world. But this single post grew my heart ten fold-akin to the end of How the Grinch Stole Christmas-due to this magnificent and brilliant rendition of one of my favorite songs.
Fabulous cover, y'all from a 74 year old Virginian.
In another universe I want to be a young, talented musician who plays great music with other young, talented musicians. Thanks for making this video and for sharing your talents!
Yes, to every single word of that.
Steely Dan is not an easy band to emulate. these are some fine young musicians. Rock on!
This is my favorite song by the Low Darts. They nailed it from keyboards to saxophone to bass. I’ve watched this probably 20+ times. Donald Fagan would be proud. Let’s do Peg next.
These kids have the right stuff. I'm startled. These kids should go somewhere good. I'm amazed. Go kids go. 👍🏻
Sebastian just kills it on that solo! Great sense of rhythm and feel!
He says thanks!
I am 62. I owned AJA LP & cassette. I wore them both out. This made my day! Kudos!
Aunt Grandma (70 year old) SUBSCRIBED!!! Chillin’ It Killin’ It in Betty Whites voice.
At your age I’m impressed you even know who Steely Dan is. The fact that you did such an incredible job with a 45 year old song is just icing on the cake. Really nicely done. 🙂
I said the same but to a different track
I'm always impressed by these young musicians. Everything they do is just so spot on, and their videos are so well-made. Colman even sounds like Fagen.
It's nice to hear a trumpet solo on this iconic tune
Agree. Every band should have a horn section. It should be law.
Now you know why you don't see many SD covers, it takes an army of musicians to get close. Great job everyone!
Just EXCELLENT!!! Thank you for keeping music like this alive.
In my opinion: Steely Dan comes from inside, and it just FLOWS from you all. Brilliant!
Best Cover of Steely Dan I have ever heard !
I’ve been a Dan Fan since their first Album , and , yes like others who have commented, I have seen them live many times, and the Low Darts have absolutely nailed this Cover. I also agree with others that this is the first time anybody has been any to justice to the original vocals.
I am hoping there will be more public performances .
Superbly executed my friends. Good to know this music is in good hands with this younger generation. 63 yr. old from Puerto Rico😎✌🏼
You folks are sonically perfect. If you strive to recreate everything in a song to at least meet the original sound - you have done that. That's what my ears are telling me. I am sure it takes alot of time to practice this, and the sound is truly amazing.
I can't fault this one and that says a lot. IT'S STEELY DAN
Low Darts, High Dartboard... y'all rock!
