Mr. Byington on the drums.... well done!
That drummer killed it. Somewhere Jeff Porcaro is smiling.
Definitely bud👍
Bernard is smiling...
Its nice - but if you think this is like Jeff played it - its so far off - am sorry.
@@steffenfriedle3254
This kid’s version is fantastic and you are being silly. I’d love to hear your version. Steve gadd and dennis chambers would play it slightly different than porcaro did too. It’s just different. One of the all time great grooves/songs/players, and these guys did it justice.
@@steffenfriedle3254
Absolutely correct, his beat is way off
It’s a shuffle, perhaps he needs to learn exactly how to play shuffle
I think I’m most impressed at the young cat crushing that shuffle beat that has slain many a drummer. 😅
The Low Darts are so talented and cover songs on a level that other bands cannot. They are just fantastic
That drummer NAILS the Pocaro Rosanna Shuffle. Probably one of the best performances of the groove I’ve seen to date. As for the rest - these kids are pros. Tipping my hat to them all.
Now THAT is a true cover. Not simply singing the same tune and calling it a cover. Very, very nice!!
Shout out to the drummer for doing a great job on that "Jeff Shuffle".
I was thinking the same thing, only Purdie not Jeff. Either way, he nailed it.
@zounds13 it’s been dubbed the Porcaro Shuffle - Jeff explained it as the Purdie Shuffle + Fool in the Rain + the Bo Diddley beat on the kick
Absolutely! Might be the most famous groove in pop music history - and the most difficult to play while staying in the pocket at tempo. The drummer nailed it!
I was a pretty good drummer back in the 80's (high school & college) and I couldn't match Porcaro. Looking back I think he's probably one of the most underrated drummers there ever was.
@@SeanOHanlonin no way is Pocaro underrated…wikipedia…"arguably the most highly regarded studio drummer in rock from the mid-'70s to the early '90s" and said that "it is no exaggeration to say that the sound of mainstream pop/rock drumming in the 1980s was, to a large extent, the sound of Jeff Porcaro
The Drummer's face when he started out that shuffle. Hell yeah mate, that is one difficult rhythm.
The whole band! But the DRUMMER! The Jeff Porcaro shuffle is so hard but this drummer makes it look effortless. Bravo!
I came to also compliment how the drummer absolutely nails Porcaro’s Rosanna Shuffle! Well done!
👏👏👏 I'm 57 and a former drummer. I can't begin to tell you how happy it makes me to see Gen Z appreciating the music of the 70's and 80's.
former?
I agree with you. I'm 56 and I'm still a drummer ;-) ! Fantastic Work !
Kid's got that Porcaro shuffle down! His playing is really smooth.
@@joegordon2915
I used to play all the time but I haven't picked up the sticks in years...
BTW: I didn't notice it the first time I watched the video but the lead guitarist is playing a Fender Jazzmaster and not a Gibson Les Paul like Steve Lukather did on the original song. You almost can't hear the difference which says a lot for him. 👏👏👏
❤❤❤ I'm 13 yrs old again!! Nice job guys, love it ❤❤❤
60 year olds approve. 👍
I was in several successful regional bands beginning in 1966-2000s. In the 80s and 90s I was living in LA and listening to this stuff too. So glad I found the Low Darts! Why are my eyes wet? Talented young people always do that to me now. My God this is real performance. 💪😅👌
I, too, am very teary. I'm sure these young people fully appreciate the power in music - how can they not!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful work!!
I’m another 1970s old fart former music major. You all are great!!!
I’m 71 and it is so cool to see the music of my era represented so well by talented young musicians! Bravo folks!
💯☮
I was a music major in college at the time Toto released their version of this song, so I was prepared to hate this video. I absolutely did not. I was captivated start to finish. Nice job!
Geez, you guys…I’m 58…I grew up with this music. It really pulls at my heart strings to hear you cover this music with such passion and nail on perfection. Please…keep the torch held high, stick together and keep making the world a better place with your incredible gifts and talents.
I am 59 and I m grinning ear to ear. You guys are off the charts good!
62 here and a drummer for many of those years, also grew up with this music and it's great to see younger people like yourselves carry the torch for us old folks! Keep rockin', kids!!
I agree with you you got to see the young fans that Billy Joel has gotten right now take a look at Billy Joel and what he's doing right now it's amazing with the young kids are doing with him
I'm 60 and these guys are unbelievable good!!!
Right in! I’m 62 and loving you guys!
Young ppl giving justice to a classic. Wow
Finally some good F**king music
Music Supreme
Holy cow! They have a Leslie cabinet speaker hooked up to the organ... RESPECT!!!!
And they drag that Leslie and Hammond to their live gigs!
@richarddalkranian3261 gosh I wish! We were so lucky that Park City Music Hall let us use theirs in house
Yes I know I haven't seen that since 1969!!
That's what makes the wonderful sound. That little box.
Yeah that's a sound that just can't be duplicated electronically. You think your're close to getting it right, then you A/B the two and you realize just how far away your copy is.
Jeff is smiling. Dave's gone skiing. And a propper Leslie. Great job, guys
Yeah. Great! Like it. Real music played by real guys.
52 years young here. Y’all KILLED it! Tower of Power, the Porcaro brothers, Luke, David Hungate and David Paich would be so happy to hear that the legacy of Rosanna has continued.
Was 11 when one of the top the albums of the 80s came out. Toto IV is a full well written page of music history. I listen to Toto still… Toto XIV is a good piece of work… contemporary and good toto structure… Steve’s signature solos still there.
Bravo 👏…. Thank you for playing such great music from past generations….
But I can tell you know great music is great music no matter what year it’s from 🙏
In 1970 I was at a high school dance. I thought, "If I was in the band, I'd never have to dance." It worked. 54 years later, still not dancin'. It's good to see real musicians. Excellent job all around.
Ha ha, love it! That’s pretty much exactly why I became a musician 40 years go 😂
Same here 😂
Ha! ZACTLY!
Jeff Porcaro would be proud!
Dam kids, too much interweb. Honestly im blown away. Everybody killed it.
As per usual Low Darts matching if not surpassing the quality of the original in many ways
PERFECT COVER OF ROSANNA BY THE LOW DARTS!!!👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉🌞🌞🌞😀😀😀🥳🥳🥳
Thanks, Melton!
You just made this old musician cry.. really.
I get it man. It's a beautiful thing. Gives one hope that great music will continue!
Same
Me too! The harmonies everything immaculate!
I pray that this group of friends remain forever, incredible talent. 🕊️
I agree. Just stick together and you all will win! Cheers
Are you kidding me. Just stumbled across this. Wow. You guys are insanely talented. Brought a tear to my eye. So nice.
Outstanding. Great. Next Generation perfect. 😊
When I read College I expected an amateur thing. This is dope! Awesome, guys!
These young'uns are playing songs older than they are. And doing a great job. Respect.
I am one of the proud “Grammy’s”, etc - and for me - it feels like winning a true “Grammy Award” - listening to this incredible talent - seemingly “hatched” in the amazing Fairfield, CT music school system.
Thank you to all the parents❣️👏
Thank you to EACH Low Darts band member and to every adjunct band performer contributor!
Thank you, Sean, for being the glue on the incredibly intricate drum beats -
to Luke on his cool and amazing complicated electric bass runs;
to Sebastian on super
nimble piano playing fingers; to Jonas, who is off the charts on his innovative, and exciting “rocking” lead guitar;
to Sydney - whose voice has become even more golden - even in just a few years; to Kevin - and each and every one of the brass players who
make their deliveries SO
unique - adding volumes.
Thank you, Colman - for all that you have accomplished with the help of your parents and Fairfield music teachers - for the production- recording, piano, vocals, and arrangements over the past 4 years -especially during “lockdown” - and thank you especially for being my grandson.
God bless you all and may you keep cranking out these terrific classic rock songs - essential for both the old folks and new folks alike❣️ GKT
I'm 59 years old and it makes me happy knowing that some of our younger generation appreciates older music that I grew up with in the 80's. You all rock!!
Right???
Props to the pianist hitting the deep bass notes that I rarely took the opportunity to highlight!
Thank you!
What's Old is New Again! Thanks Darts . . . thought for a minute I was listening to Lukather and the Gang again! So much talent!
There is still hope..... greatly done 🙂 makes me smile...we need that in this crazy world of late...
Good to hear a classic being played by young college kids.
I played that song on drums in HS jazz band in 79.
Great job👍
Thank you RUclips Algorithm. You guys are fantastic and the depth of talent is amazing!
Okay, so I am 65 and a half going on 130 and this is a fantastic job! WOW!
Great job kids 👍
So beautiful rendition. Pro level. long life to these kids.
My teen years was in the 80s and I can tell you that this was one of my favs. I am a guitarist and one of my influences is Steve Lukather. I hope that he sees this video!
Well done, friends...
🎶🎶🎶
BRAVO!!!!
Awesome 👌🏻 👏 👍 😍 💖 🆒️. Keep it up! I'm a fanboy now
That drummer!!!👍
My god the drummer and the baritone 😮 really all of it. I love seeing people my age (29) or younger that appreciate the music our parents brought us up on. It really is the best of the best.
Great cover, as a drummer myself the drum part stays in the pocket. Great job
I’m 59 and so appreciative that you have chosen to stay faithful to the original version. Very well done. I may have to stop weeping for the future.
Jeff Porcaro , Steve Luke and David Paich would all be proud of you. Thankyou for keeping great music alive.
The drummer nailing the Purdie shuffle! Love it!
Porcaro*
@@moonlitegram Right. I know it was the amazing Jeff Porcaro on the recording but the beat was invented by Bernard Purdie. It's called The Purdie Shuffle. ruclips.net/video/sj6o4cxWgl8/видео.htmlsi=Lx-U8N-yNL-Vm1v-
You guys need to tour. Not kidding. I personally would do my share in a promotional blitz, aswell as dozens of my musician community who would do the same.
I absolutely LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!
SO, SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!
Never stop playing, as a group, or individually. As you all know, virtually nothing is as powerful as music, and you guys do it beautifully! ❤
These kids are awesome. More young kids need to get involved into music. They will appreciate it more the older they get. This group is really talented. 👏👏👏👏
Phantastic, Spot on. Jeff Porcaro would liked … RIP JP
No matter what generation, good music will always be good music and musicians will always appreciate it.
Oh man that drum and bass....!!!
If I close my eyes, I hear Toto. Great talent there.
Best cover of Rosanna ever...
That was the goal!
@@LowDarts Great job! However, I do believe you meant: "Why thank you...that was the goal!'' 😉
You’re right, I apologize
@@LowDarts Thanks, however, no apology is needed...you guys ROCK!
@@purdyboi8078 Jesus christ, get a life
Absolutely incredible performance, arrangement and production. BRAVO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was only going to go one of two ways. Horrifying or fabulous. Rosanna will see to that. Happy to report it was extra, super duper fantastic. LOVE the attention to detail. You guys are my people.
I am a 60 year old German guy in Munich and want to congratulate you to this brilliant performance. You guys really nailed it like absolute pros!
Wonderful to see so much talent in your generation - please continue surprising us 🙏
Yep, crushed it... Well. Done
Love this version very well done !
My neighbors like it as well they bang on the walls every time I play it.....
Nice job all. Love the organ rig with the Lesley! 💚🎸
Thanks! We were grateful to be able to play it!
Great Job, Berklee Alum here. Impressive.
It is so refreshing to see younger people appreciate the effort that actually goes into producing songs that are not computer generated. With AI on the rise it is important that great young musicians like this become the guardians of real music created by extremely talented musicians. Much love to you all.
high fives to everyone in this band! keep making real music.
Oooh that harmony again. Tight.
That drummer is amazing! I watched your guys yacht presentation and I was blown away ! All this songs all did amazing but thst drummer can do any beat ❤
Superb ❤️…. Special shout out to the drummer 💪💪💪
The Half Time Shuffle with the bodidaly shuffle, well played.
Love that this song from 1982 is still being covered. Awesome job, young people! I’m hooked. Gen X approved. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
WOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very well dpne, kids👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Respect from Germany
I am coming to Connecticut next week , I cant wait to see you all . Cheers Low Darts . sending energy to you all . 😀
It's so nice to see a younger generation get into the good music from the 60s and 70s you guys are all very talented
TOTO 60s and 70s!!! 🤣🤣🤣. Rosanna=1982!
Masterclass in layered vocals. Brilliant, thanks! 👍👍👍👍 (Dad thumbs)
DJ for 25 years, just came across your channel...incredible, extremely well done😎👍
WOW. I'm coming from being a big fan of Lexington Lab Band and how faithfully they recreate the originators' sounds; you guys are really producing at a similar level. This is terrific.
Kudos to all of the band.
wow good job
Playing good music keeps ya young...these people are actually in their 50s.
Fantastic cover - such a great song and I love seeing college-aged kids still enjoying it.
Toto had some of the BEST studio musicians ever they were basically Boz Scaggs back up
band for the album Silk Degrees. Your vocals have matured greatly as a group and those were some KILLER 3 part harmonies
Basically Michael Jackson’s band for Thriller, too
Keep enjoying the ride guys.
Extended jazz ending true to the album, wonderfully done.
It is crazy good to see these kids playing these songs .. loads of talent.. Love to have you at a festival in Kansas
All these young people are superb musicians and getting better as they mature. Most of these songs are difficult. Played beautifully. These are the people that will create the real music of tomorrow.
Thanks, Phil! We hope so!
I saw Toto live play this song and when I closed my eyes I was there again. Absolutely amazing you guys are really really good. I would pay to see you guys play.
Fan-flippin'-tastic!!!
Being 37 and seeing yall play what I grew up listening to. Means we had some kick ass parents. Keep the flow alive yall
Awesome job! Any Toto is welcome. I would love to see Hold The Line and Manuela Run. Thanks all.
51 year old musician here. You guys are phenomenal. You even have a Leslie speaker. Carry on…
Thank you! We'd appreciate if you shared with your friends!
Nice A-100 too
