This one surprised me quite a bit. How do you feel it compares to the original Orient Kamasu? Pick up this Orient "Kamasu II" on Amazon: amzn.to/3LbES5U
It's worth mentioning that the new Kamasu has brushed sides of the case and nice polished lines between brushing. The old Kamasu, on the other hand, has just all polished sides. Orient will soon release a new color variant - dark red (such as in a limited version but with a steel case) and blue / gold (another limited edition).
Ordered this very same Kamasu, can't wait for its arrival. I think that the design is perfect; it has Orient's originality (hands, bezel), origins (gradient dial that reminds of older, 80s Orients) and respect for the historical diver aesthetics (circles and batons). Specifications are great and price is excellent.
@@ChronometerCheck finally received it about a week ago. It's absolutely wonderful and versatile; not too large at all for my skinny 6,25" wrist. The sole problems are the small crown and bad-fitting end links, but these are usable nevertheless. Definitely planning another Kamasu this year!
I much prefer the new markers. And I love the grey gradient dial. I think the new version is a definite step up in design. I'm still carrying a Mako II so it might be time to treat myself...
Why can't they put antireflective coating on the sapphire crystal? As you can see from your video, there is constantly glare. I assume it is a corner to cut that increases their profit margin, but no manufacturer should use sapphire without antireflective coating.
I do agree, and frankly, AR coating is one of the things that can take a watch from "good" to "great". In retrospect, some of my favorite watches either had some sort of AR treatment, or were generally a bit less prone to glare being an issue (think lighter dial watches as opposed to black). I couldn't imagine it would hike manufacturing costs too much, but then again, I'm no manufacturer.
Are the metals the same color tone? I like the after market bracelet on the red, but like the brownish black dial more. Ideally would like to get the after market bracelet you have, and put it on the brownish black dial! Also, is the Kamasu after market bracelet even compatible with the Kamasu 2?
is the lume on the v2 the same as the v1? as it seems like it has some sort of a patina-ed lume which usually dont fare as well compared to the normal colored counterparts
Orient just announced a third generation of Kamasus that feature a dial with arabic numbers. It comes in 4 different colours. My favourite is the one with a charcoal grey dial.
The bezels when new are nothing like the bezels after a few months of use. My Kamasu bezel is now soft and mushy, barely any sound and I can turn it with one finger like a fidget spinner. I am very bummed by this. Does anyone think this is fixable?
I had triton and now i order this one .please can you help me tell me if this is much smaller? Because i dont want to be very small.i have almost 7inch wrist
It's somewhere between grey with a slight brown tint. it surprised me how much of a warm brown/goldish-grey hue it has, especially toward the center of the dial.
So im turning 18 y.o this summer and im thinking about getting the original kamasu in black or this in black.I prefer the design of this one but the brown is a bit much for me. Do you think that i should go with the og kamasu or this one having in mind my age bc i cant really decide .I already have a casio mts 100d that has sapphire and im in love with it cause i ve had it for 2 years and it doesn't even have a single scratch on the glass so im not having in mind the mako ii or ray ii
@@dimper4562 Imo this watch is a little overdramatic for a main watch.
