    I am continuously amazed at the amount of mushrooms we have in the PNW. One of my favorite subjects to photograph.
    Fairy Rings are simply magical

    I was camping along a stream in Silverton Colorado. Tons of mushrooms and small flies. I harvested a few fly agaric and did a test. I put out 2 small bowls of milk. One with the fly agaric and one without. By midday the fly agaric one was filled with flies. The other only had a few. I used it for the entire week and caught quite literally a thousand flies. I don't know why it attracted them but it definitely did.

    Looking good man, my 2 cents i would make another christmas video on the amanita. Honestly people watch your videos like a tv channel looking everyday for somthing to watch. Usually not going back thru old videos. The more videos the stronger your channel will be. Then when somone does discover you they can bindge watch all your videos and become obsessed and buy merch. Its weird i feel like i know you man. Even came up to seattle a few weeks ago to buy some fresh candy xaps for cloning and the guys that collected them knew you and you and you were a big topic and way to talk with others about episodes watched its a good conversation piece and brings us together. Were all working in the backround and you dont know who we are but your making the wheels turn my friend. Thanks for all you do youll probably meet me one day. If the pope was in front of you i would ask him to move so i could ahake your hand. Your the real star here bro.

    Hey Aaron, great reminder that the mushroom season can vary greatly from one region to the next. I aaked Santa for a dehydrator so that 1, I can start saving some specimens for sequencing and 2, perhaps I can enjoy some nice mushrooms during the cold winter in NY! 🍄♥️🍄‍🟫♥️

    I just tried Clavulina coralloides for the first time this weekend since nothing else was really fruiting where I was at. I really liked it! Had a buttery taste despite frying it in a neutral tasting oil with nothing but salt. Texture's nice, the thin bits get crispy. But they're a pain to clean and you do need to be mindful of both ID and infection with parasitic fungi so honestly if I already had a basket full of yellowfoot I'd have left them behind too.

    Hey Aaron;
    Great videos. I have learned a lot from you. Went out yesterday and found some turkey tail mushrooms. When you make tea, do you dry them and crush them into powder or just put a couple of sprigs of them into boiling water to make the tea. Thanks for your feedback. With your help , I have become a mushroom fanatic😅.

    My grandparents and my dad are coming from generations of mushroom hunters and they cringe seeing people pulling out the mushrooms like that with the “root”. I understand your thinking behind it: that mycelium is omnipresent underground and the spores are dropped all over the place. However, pulling by hand like this is like leaving plastic bags and beer cans after you camped. No no no! please, always use the knife and cu close to the ground, but cut the stem and never !ever! pull it out of the ground. It’s just a way to show respect to nature.

    Hey Aren
    I probably butchered the spelling of your name, sorry.
    I wanted to tell you about the turkey tails that grow here in North Carolina, there are tons of them but they are white with different shades of tan and cream colors.
    When I first found them I thought they were old and washed out but they were fresh, so different from the ones in Washington.

  • @TheChronicOutdoorsSyndrome

    Ayy. So if Russula Brevipies damages red. Does the parasitic fungus find the damage? Maybe the spore is damaged and that’s when it becomes a lobster. Because in my short “career.” I seem to find lobster in soil that was disturbed? Has a reddish russula ever been tested for the parasitic fungus? I am sure it has. Just thought.
