I never realized how much Ernest P. Worrell was such a huge part of my childhood. This and Ernest scared stupid are ingrained in my memory to this day, I could no lie quote at least half the movies correctly. Thanks Mr. Varney, you were one of the greats
Check out. "Your life as I see it"? Chester p Arthur. It's his first comedy. I am not sure I am right. It has been a long time but google will help you. Enjoy.
0:47 is one of the best sounds in the world. My dad loved all the Ernest stuff. He laughed so hard in the theater I thought they were good to ask us to leave. "Hey, Vern! Im on tv!"
this move is incredible. I laughed. I cried. I stood and applauded. my hats off to you Mr. Varney, you crafty, skilled SOB. I sure am glad it's raining.
I love the innocence of putting zero thought into how the apparatus actually works. As a kid you just accept that machine works exactly as it shows. How does moving the strap a little bit turn it on and off? How does the strap going off the wheel and onto the axle prevent the machine from stopping? Why is the motor so powerful? Why does the scoop elevator ladle up sauce for no reason? It isn't basting anything, it just picks up the sauce and drops it on the other side. But none of that mattered, because as a kid in the 80's, that was some funny shit.
Actually Mark, February 10, 2020 will mark the 20th anniversary of Jim Varney's passing. Sad to say, Varney was a fairly heavy smoker in his lifetime and he was only 50 when he died from the same disease that took the life of my dad in November 1977 (he was only 54) : LUNG CANCER. ;-(
I have a Panasonic dvd player from Amazon( cannot remember the model no ) but it plays American films as well as UK . I bought specifically to watch Ernest films
I think this is hilarious At the same time, I feel kind of sorry for Ernest. He was trying to impress the boys by making food on that barbecue thing and he ends up getting caught on fire and falling into the muddy lake.
Loved Ernest (especially this film and Ernest Scared Stupid) as a child and still do! He left us too soon 😔 1:29 always makes me laugh, since he waddles into the water, lol.
lmao @ the way he sits down on the chair at the beginning with that facial expression i swear im the same way when i hang out on the front yard with friends...
Last month would have been his 70th birthday. Which TV network is going to issue an apology for not running a marathon? Then of course, run the marathon.
+Rabid Rabbit Rabbi I asked my brother about this once...I said, "Doesn't she just tie his ankle to the barbecue spit and let it reel him in like a fishing rod?"
Hear me out. If Hollywood wants to resurrect the Ernest P Worrell character, I think Daniel Craig would be perfect. He was very similar to this style of acting on Logan Lucky. RIP Jim Varney. Loved your movies when I was a kid.
That was very funny😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What happened to comedy now days it's just a bunch of cussing. You can let your children watch this and not worry about the language. This was as funny and cleaner than anything nowadays. Remember watching this as a kid and laughing my butt off.
This movie IS my childhood. RIP Jim Varney.
Hehehe (Ernest laugh)
Me too
Same bro
Did he die drowning in that lake ? Looks like he could have
I never realized how much Ernest P.

Enjoy.
Jim Varney felt like an uncle to me because when I was a kid I would just watch his movies over and over again.
Jim Varney (Died) February 10 2000
Burning On His Legs
Get On The Trash Truck
ThroughingUp Egg
Get On The River
Ants Bugs On The Ernest Picnic
Jim Varney was a national treasure. Can I get a amen?
I know that's right brother Amen 👍
Real men are not intimidated by physical threats against their personal selves, and, ironically, neither am I. Jim Varney is a natural treasure.
@@williamshaw9047 I was just joking
amen
Definitely. Loved this stuff as a kid. Scared Stupid was constantly on when I was 9/10. Great stuff. Just fun, lighthearted, stuff.
0:47 is one of the best sounds in the world.
My dad loved all the Ernest stuff. He laughed so hard in the theater I thought they were good to ask us to leave.
"Hey, Vern! Im on tv!"
U must be 47
this move is incredible. I laughed. I cried. I stood and applauded. my hats off to you Mr. Varney, you crafty, skilled SOB. I sure am glad it's raining.

That raining comment hit me right in the feels hard. Mr. Varney forever a legend.
Did the rest of the little classroom at the end of the building applaud as well?
Just kidding man lol 😆
An icon of the 80s forgotten. Needs more recognition

yeah I never quite understood that...
90’s kids found it funny too😊
I remember enjoying so much Ernest, as a child.
Love you, Jim. Thank you.
❤🙏
The things he invents often don't work but turn out remarkably well.
ernest character was genius because you actually forget this is a real guy playing a character. this movie brings back fond memories of the 80`s
Jim Varney (Died) February 10 2000
Toilet Throw Water On Ernest
Oh Jim if only more people were like you the world would be a very joyful fun place...
Memories of me watching this as a kid. Many moons ago. Almost 30 years ago if you want to know. Life was alot simpler back then for sure.
One of the funniest people ever, God I miss him.
yep ledt us to soon. there were alot of earnest movies to be made. like ernest goes to space, ernest goes to the superbowl, ernest saves easter.
Ernest as king of the north
30 years since rip jim varney
Actually Mark, February 10, 2020 will mark the 20th anniversary of Jim Varney's passing. Sad to say, Varney was a fairly heavy smoker in his lifetime and he was only 50 when he died from the same disease that took the life of my dad in November 1977 (he was only 54) : LUNG CANCER. ;-(
Tell me about it he was my Cousin and i never got to meet him I really wish i got the chance to meet him before he passed
R.I.P when i was Young i liked the Ernest movies so much
There ain't no trees in Botswana. Nope, I know; I am a Botswanan lumberjack and I ain't never had a job.

I really wish all the Ernest movies were released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK aswell I love these films
I have a Panasonic dvd player from Amazon( cannot remember the model no ) but it plays American films as well as UK . I bought specifically to watch Ernest films
I came up with some Ernest movie titles!
1. Ernest Goes To Las Vegas.
2. Ernest Goes To Canada.
3. Ernest Goes To Space.
😂😂😂
4. Earnest for President
Man that opening scene that lake is where I wanna be, now and forever. Never having heard of a smart phone
This is the finest art ever put to film, should be on Criterion
This one and Ernest Goes to Jail was my main favorites out of all the Ernest films! He was so funny and amazing!
There will never be another jim varney

He goes hehehe in other movies too and in his tv ads he has a wheezing laughing and he’s laughing when bobbing his head in the water
My grandma always loved the part with the parachuting turtles lol. Same as a lot of comments here...brings back my childhood !
There is a wholesome innocence to Ernest and his buffoonery.
He’s such a lovable character.
Jim Varney is sorely missed.
I like how you made Ernest Live Through Electrocutions in Ernest goes to Jail.
This was the first Ernest movie if I recall correctly...
"Ernest Goes to School" is my favorite though.
Dr. Otto and The Riddle of the Gloom Beam, was the first to feature Ernest.
Man if Red Green and Ernest were on the same screen it would be genious
_Hey, Vern! Keep yer stick on the ice; know whutamean?_
My cousin's husband played one of the camper extras in this movie.
To quote the genius himself "ehhhhhhhhh hehehehehehehehehehe"
Ernest was the funniest character ever. Jim Varney died far too soon.
Chiefs meeting
ernest = my childhood funny man hero, thank you Jim, you shall be remembered!
I think this is hilarious At the same time, I feel kind of sorry for Ernest. He was trying to impress the boys by making food on that barbecue thing and he ends up getting caught on fire and falling into the muddy lake.
Эрнест Хемингуэй писатель порно Арнольд
Didn't he used to play slinky in toy story?
Yes He Did. In Toy Story 1 & 2.
he also played Jed Clampett in the beverly hillbillies movie.
Yes
Yes
He also played Ernest from Ernest Scared Stupid
I used to watch this and I loved it, I still do!!
The music in this part sounds like something that would be in a Leisure Suit Larry or a Sierra adventure game. XD
The laugh 😂 RIP I loved this movie
I remember being like 7 years old and absolutely laughing my ass off at this scene.
0:48
That laugh
Before doing movies, he would do commercials with his ernest character.
Imagine what Jim Varney would've been like as a RUclipsr.
One could say that Jim Varney is the original 'viral video star'.
Why is it that I just watched a news clip of someone getting pulled into a wood chipper and now youtube recommends this? Weird.
Rest In Peace John cherry .
I miss this actor r.i.p jim varney ever since slinkey in toy story
I miss you Ernest P Worrel rip
I love this i remember it so well its one off the best movies for me so many years and i still love it.

Ive always wanted to see an Ernest goes to Auchwitz movie that takes place in 1943
0:47 This was the most convenient Ernest laugh in the entire movie, because his lips were already in position from before at 0:45!
I saw this in the theater and several people were dressed up like Ernest.
Loved Ernest (especially this film and Ernest Scared Stupid) as a child and still do! He left us too soon 😔 1:29 always makes me laugh, since he waddles into the water, lol.
God, I miss him.
RIP to this guy
lmao @ the way he sits down on the chair at the beginning with that facial expression i swear im the same way when i hang out on the front yard with friends...
Ernest was one of the funnies franchises of the 80s-90s. Knowhatimean?
They need to stop messing around and put this on Disney Plus
_Ernest Saves Christmas_ is on there.
Last month would have been his 70th birthday. Which TV network is going to issue an apology for not running a marathon? Then of course, run the marathon.
So sooooo chuckle worthy ! 😂😂😂
Legit the cool uncle of my nostalgia ❤
I've seen this on a Facebook video before with a guy who did not survive
0:45-1:26: Final Destination
Masse0706 final destination: goofy version
+@@truefirepinkguy4826 Yeah I could've just said 'Final Destination in a Nutshell', LOL
Best movie in the 80s
What a random recommendation lol i grew up watching these movies. Didnt remeber them being this cheesey but still a good movie.
this is a lot more corny than i recalled
what happened in childhood really should STAY in childhood. Besides Alf of course. And maybe Flight of the Navigator. Or Flight of Dragons.
yeah it is. i thought he was funny when i was a kid too but now i watch these and they are dumb lol
datura1983
ernest was made for kids though so its to be expected.
It's still great
+Kevin Luper lol
He never knew when to quit.
This movie gets better with time
Ernest really should do a crossover with Pee-wee.
I loved Jim Varney for what he was particularly in Ernest Worrell movies.
I love this movie
You know what really kills me about this scene? All that wasted bbq.
I love it when he runs into the river
Technically it's a lake, but yeah, that scene was funny.
Right, sry, it's been a while.
The Marvelous M yea dumbass. It's a lake
CLASSIC!!
Hard to believe i watched this in theater as a kid u dont notice how low budget it is u enjoy it for what it is..... comic gold
Like a boss 0:48
I don't even understand what he was trying to do in the first place.
+Rabid Rabbit Rabbi I asked my brother about this once...I said, "Doesn't she just tie his ankle to the barbecue spit and let it reel him in like a fishing rod?"
Fuck you
Mattsmithalicious Did I offend you?
He was making a prototype for Topf and sons
Rabid Rabbit Rabbi lol not sure he did either..its already rotating
Who's still watching this in 2019?
Best chicken and hot dogs ever.
Man, it makes you wanna barbecue and cook. Whenever I see that scene
Why do so many people love these movies?
thesem ovies were epic when I was a kid.
I remember when I was a little kid...thought this was funny. lol. LONG time ago.
Hear me out. If Hollywood wants to resurrect the Ernest P Worrell character, I think Daniel Craig would be perfect. He was very similar to this style of acting on Logan Lucky. RIP Jim Varney. Loved your movies when I was a kid.
What is so funny Ernest I love your laughing

That was very funny😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What happened to comedy now days it's just a bunch of cussing. You can let your children watch this and not worry about the language. This was as funny and cleaner than anything nowadays. Remember watching this as a kid and laughing my butt off.
before there was Steve Urkel there was Ernest
His laughs make the movie so much more funny
I think John Cena can be Ernest... The resemblance is uncanny!
OMG so 80's 😄
While Jim Varney is a VERY talented actor, this movie had violence. It showed Earnest getting hurt, which broke my heart ❤
Am I a genius or what 😂
If you gotta ask earnest buddy...then I dunno😂
