Jim Varney was such a great comedic actor. His timing was perfect & his facial expressions the best. We loved Ernest and Jim's creativity in creating him. Thanks Jordan for taking us to the camp. Really fun to see.
I met Jim Varney when I was a kid. He used to do commercials for a car dealership in Northern VA (Tysons Corner for any VA people). One night the dealership had a meet & greet and my dad took me to meet him. He was super friendly, funny and great with the kids. A big chain smoker. So sorry that he passed away at such a young age from it.
I grew up in a dysfunctional family during the 90s and remember being a kid and wishing that Ernest was my dad. Jim really made a difference for folks, especially us young kiddos. RIP Jim 💙
this is amazing! thank you for making this video, this was my favorite Ernest movie growing up as a kid in the 90s. I recently started restoring a 1993 4runner and every time I work on it I have to listen to the song Brave Hearts by Gary Chapman to remember the construction worker seige.
You mentioned Bell Buckle Tn and they have a craft fair every October and the town shuts down and the fair lasts for two days. They have arts and crafts as well as food and hayrides. It’s so fun to go there!
I remember, it had to be early 80's, we was visiting my grandparents in Wv. They lived extremely rural & got maybe 2 fuzzy channels of tv. A commercial with Ernest in it came on, I want to say it was a furnace company, but he got electrocuted & said "my daddy used to make those things or my daddy used to work on those things". I remembered that commercial for a long time & we joked about it all the time, pretending to get shocked then saying his phrase, then when the first Ernest movie came out, I yelled that is that guy from the commercial. I tried to find the exact commercial I remember but have been unable to. I found many similar but not the one I remember. Ernest was such a funny character but I liked Jim doing other things too, like Beverly Hillbillies for one. He was such a talent & it is sad he is gone.
Oh wow now this is Good...All time Fav Ernest Movies ..ya Know what I mean Vern?" 🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢 And all the props too ..dang this is Rad Jordan Ewwwwwwwwwww.....😂 he was so dang Funny
I went to church camp there in the summer of '83. Looks the same . Are the bears still eating the food in the trashcans? We weren't allowed outside the cabins after dark. 🤔
"Great big babies in your shoes, Vern!" I remember Jim doing local commercials here in Los Angeles. Crazy how this brought back that line & memory. Thanks, Jordan!
I never watched any of his movies, but I used to see the guy in some of them named "Bobby" downtown all the time. He was just a regular worker downtown, I forget maybe a state government worker? Brings back memories of Montgomery Bell Park. We used to go there often when I was a kid. It was a great place to swim.
I'd forgotten all the scenes of this movie, save one. The opening scene where Ernest is bent over a toilet doing that "ewwww' thing in front of the camera!
I remember when Adam the Woo went up there,, was quite a video he made,,, the next day, him and I did another video together,, was fun times,,, regardless good content...
