I worked as an extra on Far and Away with Tom Cruise at one point I asked him a question about top gun .it struck a cord with him and he told me the story Ron Howard didn't interrupt him it took him about 10 or 15 minutes to tell me the answer while everybody didn't say a word.. the next day the AD. told every extra where to go and what to do then she said FRANK can I see you for a minute ? She said " yesterday when you talked to Tom Ron asked me to tell you not anymore cause you cost the production 18,000 dollars. " True story Jordan.. THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA...
Yeah the rules those idiots in production put on others working around the films always say no eyes context don’t talk to them etc. that’s not always from the actors but the sheeple that are really not needed there in the first place. The one that told you that could probably be replaced and ever would still get done and they would save $250,000.
Wow!!! Hahaha ooopsss
Omg I ❤ Far and Away, such an epic and beautifully done movie! How amazing!
That’s a cool story!
Wow I'd love to hear all about that
I'm from Australia and still have this movie on dvd, I watched it so many times on VHS tape when I was a kid I actually wore the tape out lol
I loved the Days of Thunder movie. I saw it in the theater and the seats would shake with what was going on on the screen. That's why JD Motorsports saved that car. The know it was in the movie and people would want to see it. Too bad people can't acted better than just go around filming things without asking. Makes your job more difficult. Thank you, JD Motorsports, for letting Jordan film the one car you have. Thanks for the great video, Jordan. You and Jah be safe and take care.
Love this barn. This is the first filming location I ever visited on purpose… good times… lots of memories… Awesome Video!
Don't forget about a young John C. Reilly was part of that ensemble cast! I love Days of Thunder and watched it actually last night! Great video Jordan!!!
That was a cool time , I bought a bunch of Matchbox Days of Thunder toy cars & carrier trucks from Toys R Us & got a large poster from the theater , still have them .
The best cinematic photography of motor racing there is!
Those nails are Clecos! Very handy for mounting body panels! Fun vlog as usual Jordan! Thank you!
This is in my backyard, the barn is very special. Movie magic for sure when you watch that scene but then go visit it. Right behind a parts store. Very cool Jordan thanks for the content.
Ace
Stop lying.
I’d love to see this place in person, man that’s so cool. They need more movies like this b4 everything goes electric and sounds like the jetsons racing around.
This was a great video Jordan. Really enjoyable. So glad you got to film it before any development started. Many thanks Jordan and Jah.
Just great ! Safe travels ❤️ take care !
So cool love seeing saved pices from 90s epics
When I saw Jah's beautiful form I had to watch!!
This was awesome! One of our all time favorite movies. So nice of him to let you see the car. Love the barn. Sad to see it in such a sad state. Glad you opted on the side of caution when it came to climbing up inside. Really interesting vlog. Thanks Jordan. 💙
Great filming location thanks Jordan and Jah
Cool that the car is still around.
That car should be restored and in a museum. Still cool that it exists though.
That might be his plan. I'm just happy he rescued it and gave it a new home.. actually all the cars seem to have gone to proud owners
There is a restored one in the Hendrick Museum. The actual one used in the race they custom made for it.
Thanks for the great video and sharing. Love seeing old filing locations as well as movie cars.
I hope y'all have a good visit to NC
That barn reminds me of the movie Funny Farm, when the moving guys try to cross the bridge. The guy says it looks like termites hold hands. I Flippin love this movie! Thanks Jordan
Thanks Jah and Jordan
I lived in Daytona when they filmed this it was awesome ate at the restaurant they filmed their dinner at crossed the Main Street bridge they raced across.
You get lots of respect for asking the person for permission to see the car and record it vs others that don’t ask
You're in my town! I wished I could've seen you! I remember seeing them film and the ramps were there for years. The pond Tim drives up is still behind the development. I thought a crime happened when I first went by because of the cops and all the lights. Harry's house is in the mountains. Saw Tom when I worked security for Janet Jackson last season opener at pnc Charlotte. You can go in but be careful. My wife's foot went through the floor and almost everyone takes some wood when they visit. Worked with John C. Reilly on Talladega Nights.
Stop all that lying. You ain't never worked with no Tom cruise. You ain't got enough thetons boy.
@COWBAYOUBADASS You're double negatives are just confirming it again so thanks for the unintended support.
I enjoy your videos! Tom Cruise movies are a favorite!
I live about 45 minutes south of here and in the summer of 2015, I rode my motorcycle up to the barn. I must say it was in a lot better shape than it is now!! Most of the boards on the front and to the left of the big opening were still there. Good job on the video!!
I hope you get to meet Johnny Davis someday. You enthusiasm for pop culture is great 👍
I think you can still see some of the days race cars at Hendrick City Chevrolet down on independence blvd in Charlotte. They are attached to the wall in the service center area. Very cool.
Very cool!!!!! 👍🏁
This was a fascinating video Jordan loved it.
I’ve got photos of that car sitting in front of the ride at carowinds. I’ve got 3 screen used DOT cars sitting in my shop
That was so awesome! I loved that movie and remember I had the plastic cup from the movie theater and I still have the Mello Yellow car and the pink one from Hardees
Thanks Johnny Davis
Give credit to the guy who actually figured this out. I saw his video a bit back. But yes enjoy this I went to nascar technical institute here in 04 and drove by this just when target was only store there across. Worked for the Richard petty driving experience in concord on the weekends. Great job buddy you document and keep us intrigued soo much. ❤❤
No way! Same for NTI in 04.
Amazing video Jordan, as always
Yup, grew up riding days of thunder at ki as well. I was just arguing with my wife about what was in there after days of thunder was taken out. Still one of my go to movies when i wanna revisit my childhood. Awesome find man.
Wow! Super find! Congrats! Love seeing this stuff! Great content as always! Thanks!!!!
We filmed the barn last month on our channel. Awesome that it was so close. Chance was small enough to go up to the second level and film some up there. Really good video
Such a rad car!! I want it so bad for my channel lol. Thank you for the tour of both!
Thanks for the great video.
Great movie! Thanks Jordan and Jah. ~Love&Light♥️C.
Very cool that JD let you go inside after driving all the way there !
He rubbed you.......and rubbing's racing. Best line ever.
I like when Harry says , " I'm gonna shave half of an inch off you and shape you like a bullet" as he speaks to the car. 👍
i love this movie 🎬 Thank you for sharing this amazing video
Great video. I’m from east of Cincinnati and I remember the days of thunder ride at kings island.
very kool! thank you jordan....
Oh, Dang! You got to it before they doz it! Awesome!
High school field trip 1992/93 from Hollidaysburg pa, we went to king's dominion, I waited in line twice to ride the days or thunder ride / movie. ❤❤❤ I'm droppin the hammer Harry!
My stepdaughter lives in Mooresville, they own a business of motorcycle clothes, bohn body armor I think
Grew up with what we called stock car racing, my neighbor had two, 33 and 73 we went every week, my cousin still follows all of them. Great times, happy times
Love this video Jordan and I also love the Days Of Thunder Movie keep up the great work
cool stuff . Love old school stuff
Awesome places thanks I enjoyed watching
That’s my favorite movie too
Hi, Jah and Jordan!! Love the video!!
Hendricks was the main contributior of chassises for the movie
He has the only fully restored Cole Trickle movie car in his museum.
The Spencer Davis Group - Gimme Some Lovin' That song with trigger the movie memory. My family and I were at center track, Daytona speedway, during the filming of Cole Trickle's first test drive in the movie. I was only 5 or so but we have home videos of our huge Blue Bird camper in middle of track and then some videos of Fort Wilderness Disney, too.🤐
Great video Jorden loved that movie myself
My Grandfather loved NASCAR and was at Daytona the years they were filming the movie and I remember as a little kid that it was the only time I ever went to see a movie with him.
One of my fav movies of all time.
If you were looking for the Mello Yello car and Hardee’s car, you were at the wrong place. JD has the one 51 car, I have the cars you were mentioning from the previous video and we’re located in Honea Path, SC
Can I come see them sometime?

I use to work at a car museum in Scottsdale AZ as a volunteer detailer and they had this race car there at the time I was only 17 or 18 years old and had no idea it was a movie car let alone rare to find we had an auction and I believe it sold with a 1929 Ford pickup I don't remember the selling price of the cars but we went out of business in 2017 the place was called Scottsdale international auto museum.
Enjoyed again Jordan and Jah, also Thank you JOHNNY DAVIS
Gaffney SC! Born and raised there. I know this place! Live in TN now but miss Gaffney.
When I used to work at the auto auction in oregon we had a movie used mellow yellow car come through the auction
One of my very favorites. 🦁
That City car is iconic! 👌
Dude, those aren't nails holding the sheet metal in place ! They're "Cleco Temporary Fasteners" or body pins. 😖 Other then that, good job on the vid. 👊😎👍
Thanks for the video. I heard that Tom Cruise along with the director of Top Gun 2 are currently working on the sequel.
luv Days of Thunder this is so cool to see the barn and Cole Frickle’s car, someone save this car from the junkyard, it would be so neat to have it restored
I'd love to know where his City car is.. or if they painted over it
@@DazewithJordantheLion that would be a gem to find, Greg Sacks drove #46 City car in three races, City Chevrolet was a dealership in Charlotte NC owned by Rick Hendrick who also owned #46 and #51
@@DazewithJordantheLion Hendrick museum.
OMG JAH!!!!!!🐾
No way this is so ironic. I'm a MASSIVE Days of Thunder fan. I was born in 1990 and this was the first movie I remember watching back to back to back as a kid…and I also live in Cincinnati and would go to Paramount to see the cars! 😅
That was awsome
The “building the car” scene was the best scene in the movie to me.
Awesome video
This is something that needs to be restored. I just watched Days of thunder for the first time. This building has to be restored. I mean there's plenty of movies where all the props were destroyed or something. This is different. Yeah the car still exists but it would be pretty cool to have the building to still exist too
They extended the clutch for the mellow yellow car 😂😂🤟🤣🤣
Great movie history!
Let me drive,
I won't make a fool outta you.
Loved Harry Hogge.
Super🚗
Rick Hendrick has one of the original cars too,it is at the merchandise shop.He built most of the cars used in the movie
I think he has the mountain dew car
@DazewithJordantheLion It is the #46 City Chevy car,Rick Hendrick owns City Chevrolet which is Chevrolet dealership
Ohhhhh!
Is that the museum?
@@DazewithJordantheLion At the merchandise store
Cool ass video folks ❤️👍👍
Dale jr was my favorite driver and lives in Mooresville. I cheer for any Hendrick racers especially Chase Elliott . I love NASCAR ❤
I posted this statement on Johnny chanel. I thought you'd like this. It seems so many people had touched the production in some way or another. Im happy to say that I printed thousands of images of that film.... I was assistant manager of the Jack Rabbit Photo lab in Florence, SC that the film crew used to develope all the still images that came from the Darlington track. We processed thousands of images from that production. We had to wait after hours before we could print the rolls of films; so the public wouldn't be able to see the pics of the sceens. Rumor has it that there are a few photo albums filled with the behind the sceens pics of that filming. Thats just a rumor though.
Remember rubbing is vlogging!!!!!
I recall that Tom Cruise went on the Arsenio Hall show to promote the movie and one of the cars was there in the studio. Was that the same car as the one in this vlog?
100% with the idea of restoring it. Any pieces that can't be salvaged, like the tires, for example, cut them up into pieces and sell them to fans to help pay for the restoration.
I hope they clean the car but don’t do anything to the actual car that you can see right now. What you showed was actually in the movie and that to me is what is extra special about it. Thanks for the tour. Cheers
Did you ever ride the day's of thunder ride at Kings Island... It was awesome I rode it back in 1993..
JAH!
Great video game too
😊
Great video Jordan! Can’t find the link to Johnny Davis videos tho.
Jordan, ive seen stacks of pallets before, in this situation. 😢 Typically they're loaded in on structures that a fire department uses as training burns. They mimic interior furnishings and walls, for a longer, in depth burn down. Doesnt bode well for the old barn.
I actually rode the Kings Island ride Days of Thunder back in the mid 90s
The City Chevy they have at Hendrick Motorsports complex or they used to anyway down in Concord NC since the movie was loosely based on Rick Hendrick as an owner.
the camera rig car was at used muscle car place around my area back when i was a kid ... i recognized it and told my parents to stop so i could look the place was almost never opened so we couldnt go in there ... and then the dude got in huge legal trouble so the whole place got sold and cleared out for new businesses so i never did get to go in there and look at all the old cars
If it were fully restored and driveable, it’d be cool that they give you the opportunity to drive it around the racetrack. Get to be Cole Trickle for the day 👍🏻
I Remember when kings island had the two cars at the motion theater I have pictures of them
It was a ride at Kings Island if you remember. you sat in seats like in a movie theater except they'd move around in front of a giant screen. and you'd feel like you were in the race. it was great stuff.. they should've kept it longer. but then they got the Tomb raider in it's place. it wasn't as fun. moved way different though.
