It is embarrassing to watch visitors disrespect the guards and their job.
Yep
Yes it is
Well they do kinda make a Disney attraction out of them when putting a guard shop next to them with all kind of guard gadgets lol :D
EXACTLY ! Move the shop to another location
Deve ser irritante, estarem trabalhando e esse povo mal educado só rindo dos soldados. Pessoas ignorantes.
What these tourists don't realize is that Royal Guards aren't just some men in uniform. They are still military personnel assigned to defend any royal structure or area. They are not to be disrespected nor threatened. They are authorised to use deadly force when necessary.
It's true. Its like they want the guards to say " excuse me"
They think it's just like Disneyland !
Very true. Regrettably, the royals have been interred to the tourist industry including all of the affiliates of royal life including the Royal attachments. One piece of knowledge which is interesting is that the royals, especially the monarch is the secondary government in case the first government is decapacitated.
Tourists are dumb
Tourists have no respect..its a shame..making fun of the guards.they should b arrested
These men and women are highly trained and well disciplined personnel with jobs to do. Being retired Army of 35 years, we took an oath not only to our country but to each other. Today's generation is whacked out, these civilians couldn't do what the guards have to do, just as the Arlington Tomb of the Unknown, no matter the weather conditions, they march thier post. What we do, we go through, no sleep, little food, stress, fatigue, fear, etc...., they just don't get it. Do not disrespect them. Honor and admire them.
As a vet of 12 years, I totally agree.
I watch these yahoos with no discipline at all who would quake at what those soldiers go through.
@@jenniferrobinson4277 Good morning, this younger generation for the most part is spoiled, not all but the majority are and not just them a lot of older people are the same. Family morals are forgotten, no home life, give me this I want that, I'm entitled, etc...., nobody's entitled to anything. When I was a kid I was entitled to a good butt whooping and got it too. When mom called us kids by our full names we had 5 mins to be home, cut my own switches and those words " wait til your daddy gets home boy " Mom had a swing that would impress Pete Rose. I stood up to dad one time, " come here boy you're not gonna do what ? " The good days are gone, shame we don't have the military draft. A pro sports celebrity is worth millions, a serviceman is worth 50,000.00 SGLI go figure.
@@jenniferrobinson4277 And thank you for your service too, a pleasure to be associated with you.
If anyone needs reminding how much these incredible men and women need the respect of everyone....Look no further than the events in
London, Monday 19th September 2022.
They are a credit to us all!
@U a dam site more than you
@U
"Ermm not really "
Then obviously you know what I'm talking about.
Let's have tourists who disrespect and disobey arrested. A couple of hours in detention and an on the spot compulsory fine of £1000 should have them starting to take them more bloody seriously!
Sounds like a good idea to me. Too many rude idiots out there. Deep respect to all these men and women who so loyally serve their country.
And NY Times readers.
I totally agree.
Couldn't agree more.
I agree. I don't understand the mindset of some of the people who behave so poorly. The mocking, the touching and the disrespectful actions are beyond rude. The majority of people are curious and it is great to see people who are genuinely interested and excited. Some people just need to behave better.
I think the police should take extreme measures to prevent people from mocking the guards. Such people should be fined or taken into prison in order to realise what they do.
Your joking right 😂
@@TyTy-cf9mm What's so wrong with that when it's not difficult to just NOT HARASS in the first place? You know? Something you shouldn't be doing anyway?
@@TyTy-cf9mm i dont think he is i agree , disrespect them pay the price ,

When you visit another country, please read up on their customs. In some lands, ignorance and lack of respect can get you in serious trouble.
Too many ignorant people think everything is a SNL skit.
Yep. Common sense is rare nowadays.
Too many people think they are above the rules.
@U Triggered!!😂😂🤣🤣
@U Oh yes yes.😂😂🤣🤣
@U - Lol, lol……’because of course’ …..Maybe you should stay off social media and take some grammar lessons.
It's hilarious to see people oblivious to there surroundings in that area and go into panic mode when the guards stomp their feet 😂😂
They do not HAVE TO let you into their courtyard
DON'T BE/ACT STUPID.
I always wonder why they do
Right and if access to the courtyard gets cut off, some of those disrespectful people will be up in arms
From the present day tourists point of view it’s more like watching a pantomime when in fact these are trained fighting men and women. I remember crossing London by tube in the late 50's in a sappers uniform as a sole National Serviceman and was totally respected. Would that be possible today?
Wars these days are unjust
I blame the reduction of national service: it has made the citizen sloppy and utterly ignorant of the value of the service man.

You really give a fuck about the quality of life these Afghan women and girls currently live under.
Why has the media turned its back on them?
Because the mainstream media really don't give fuck about them just like you....full of hot air and bullshit....dick head.
Respect our Soldiers, they are trying to do a job without idiots being disrespectful.
Some of the tourists are prats.
Absolute morons really.
Some of them?
I cannot imagine any reasons why people behave in such harsh and rude ways. I cannot think of anything that would justify their actions.
Poorly educated, ignorant and arrogant. Absolute disgrace.
It's horrible that these tourists are so rude.
😅
Take a day off ya melt
Most of these people young and old have no respect for these guards because they themselves have never put on a uniform ( besides their Mc Donald's or wendys uniform). They are clueless and lack respect for people that have served their country and deserve respect for the uniform they wear.
Well said.
This is what we have in Britain today ... So many people with no respect for others, weather it be a Queen's Guard or the next door neighbour. The new Prime Minister and her Government really needs to get tough on Anti - Social Behaviour and to introduce stricter measures to deal with the thoughtless and disrespectful people who commit Anti - Social Behaviour.
The British were always known for their properness. Since the influx of other peoples, the decorum in GB has gone to the dogs.
I’m a British American, I travel there about every 3 years since the ‘50’s. It’s upsetting. If you don’t respect what GB stands for, and proper way to act in society, and respect for others, then stay in your own country.
And if you look around. All imported.
@@nilocnolnah6788imported?
Agreed fully. But we have let the do gooders have their way for years and still do.
People laugh and have fun, smile at their demeanor not thinking of the effort they do all day long guarding the stupid place-very unfortunate for the Guards and for the public to not have proper understanding-
These female guards need some American Drill sergeant in their voices lol! I promise they will back up!
Why are there' s so many rude and disrespectful people ?
God help us. They are everywhere!
I would bet most of them are from United States

Tourists forget that these not toy soldiers, they are active military units performing their duties.
Its like observing animals in an civilised world.
I think some of what seems like disrespect is the tourists not knowing where they are allowed to be. There are some tourists that are just disrespectful.
A falta de educação, e respeito é um problema mundial.
You must realise that the guards are there not for the photo shows but they are on their duty!
Get out of the arch way 💂 stand clear of the guard do not get in the arch way
A better idea than a trinket stand would be military personnel who can explain the role of the guards and horses, traditions, history, etc. Not just brochures and signs but actual military staff or even videos of soldiers informing the public like they have in some museums.
They would need to use a hammer to get through.
King's Guard now.
it's about time to not let Jo public in and around the area. The army are treated like a joke
Cannot get over how disrespectful and ignorant people are these days.
People show NO RESPECT anylonger!!! DISCUSTING! !!!
I am ashamed of the lack of respect towards the guards from the tourists especially from some idiots that thinks that they are so funny. That really incense me also because they are fully fledged veterans defending the crown...
If you don't care the guard will yell at you
These people really annoy me ! Absolutely no respect ! I am praying that at the Queen's funeral there with be no clapping or cheering .It is a solemn occasion not a music event or show .
It used to get on my nerves when visitors got in the way and grabbing the reigns of the horses! They wonder why they get shouted at. They should nor be allowed anywhere near the guards who are doing their jobs!
If the Royal Navy was Duty and needed to pass It would be, Gangway, Before I carve a bastard 😆
a few Shore Patrol" swabbies would clean house there and not lose an ounce of sleep in doing it.
Why they allow that souvenir hut on the grounds selling cheesy trinkets is beyond me and shoud'nt be allowed. Keep it outside the gates. And as for the bloody tourists, keep them outside the gates as well!
The whole country should discourage tourism. Sounds like tourists are just an annoyance to the locals.
@@Chillaxing113 they may be an annoyance, but they are also a much needed cash infusion into the economy.
The whole thing is for tourists. Why else would they pointlessly march about waving pretend swords?

All this pomp and circumstance, marching, stomping of feet and the guards' uniforms etc...is a TOTAL and ridiculous waste of money. Too many UK families needs money to feed their families and the royal family with their 30 mansions, guards, servants etc...should be donated to the public.

That little souvenir store looks inadequate in that place. More respect, please

People think they are just for decoration not armed soldiers.
They do look funny in men's uniforms. They're even funnier when they screech.
I've fought alongside women. Kurdish in Syria. Best fighting mates i've had. You sir, are a misogynist. And you were never in a situation in which you were dependent on mates to save you if necessary. Show me a mate who is ready to give up life for another, and I'll show you a woman.

@@thomasforster2023 Sad, indeed. There's a great clip of some guards/cavalry training on their horses in a London park somewhere. Excellent!
Are there no rules for tourists to make way for the guards? I saw at least two police people doing nothing. Best regards from Berlin.
I agree.
From once a “the sun never sets on Britain”, to a nation relying on circus shows. Sad!
Signs and designated markings on the ground to keep clear for the benefit of the tourist would be helpful. It does seem ridiculous that service personnel to have to shout to make way when they are carrying out their duties not only in Horse Guards Parade, but The Tower of London also. Otherwise make it a sterile area for the security of the service personnel.
@ P. Marsh , even if there were markings , the People / Tourist's wouldn't see them & move , because most of them are Completely Ignorant !! ---- we have seen many Videos showing some of them Laughing , as iv'e said that many are totally Ignorant !! ----
@@johnpearce3714 Maybe drawing the sword might move them!
a couple of weeks ago I saw a video of Horse Guards where a nasty, vile tourist purposely blocked the dismounted Corporal of the Horse and just stood there smirking. The Corporal walked around. And the armed police did nothing that I saw. This behavior is pathetic ! I'm an American veteran and I can tell you that no one mocked us. I was military police/force protection... But take the country's who have Royal Guards - Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Canada, the Vatican, San Marino, the Quirinale in Rome, very FEW tourists cross the line with them. Because they are given the full authority to do their security and protective duties. And just like in London and Windsor, they have a Guard mount display, often with bands and manual of arms. But other members of the Guard are keeping a watch on the visitors. And though it doesn't happen too often, there ARE cases where disrespectful tourists have been arrested by the GUARDS and deported by the Government. Apparently Her Majesty has permitted the tourists too much of a free reign to mock her soldiers/guardsmen etc... Look at every Guard mount in the UK - Armed Police. I hope HM Prince William will remedy things when he becomes King !
@@baronedipiemonte3990 I am ex-army and police myself and I am more concerned for the security of these guards. Tourist getting too close would make me feel uncomfortable and especially when they try to touch a guard. I agree, it is disrespectful, and the guard do have the right to shout stand clear and draw arms as a warning that you are getting too close. Maybe the police could be a bit more pro-active by ensuring the public give the guard some space when carrying out their duties.
@@pmarsh3700 I'll be so bold as to suggest that the Royal Guards shouldn't need ancillary protection. They aren't theme park characters in costume - They are Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Gurkha's. I wonder if some of the younger ones are afraid of offending someone. They shouldn't be... My respect Sir.
Why is it when they march it's like they're walking. When I was in the USAF we squared the corners when we marched. I do admit it was 50 years ago.
When is to many people a security risk 🤔
Why rubbernecking tourists are allowed in this courtyard beggars belief. Also I worry about people getting close to the horses.
The little shows in the “courtyard” are put on just for the tourists. They serve no other function.
They should only have these gift shops On line.
I would hate their job with all those tourists.
No wonder tourists don't take the guards seriously when a tee-shirt vendor operates in the guards assembly area. That is a government problem; not rude tourists problem.

Tourists who come 2 London these days R so bloody rude!!! Why can’t they leave the Queen’s Guards alone???

Tourists are authorized to come there, there should be at least lines on the ground and indications that these lines cannot be crossed.
The outside of these buildings need to be power washed!!!! Disgusting 😢😢
I would like the guards to yell "Stand in my way of you wish to get arrested"
The RHA guardswoman needs to work on her shouting. That was not intimidating.
I dont know why but i hate the way the kings guards march. For some reason it looks awful to me - especially the calvary and artillery guards, but even the guards infantry look a bit daft on the march (and im a guy who ordinarily can watch marching military formations non-stop with great enjoyment).
It doesn't help to have someone nearby selling t-shirts with the guards on it. Perhaps in another area but where it was located let's tourist think the guards are just for entertainment rather military trained security
