Bert is the person who the movie Van Wilder is based on. Back in the 90’s he was named the biggest party animal by Rolling Stone magazine. This story is 100% true also

I don’t think I honestly can say this in a way that doesn’t sound like stereotyping, but I’ve had black friends (see...sounds like the old excuse already) that have mentioned to me that many black dudes simply aren’t comfortable enough in their own masculinity not by their own accord, but in “black culture” that it’s still a bit more “macho over anything” thats acceptable in many circles. That’s said with ZERO judgement, just with an understanding of different segments of culture have to deal with different things. Apparently a lot of black folks still have to prove they are “the MAN,” by making sure their dude bros know it. It’s silly, but it’s no different than how white folks have to prove we actually can, in fact, be cool, with big dicks (it’s incredibly rare...and certainly not me 😂.)

His having no shirt on has something to do with him being anxious about being overweight, IIRC. He feels that if he points out his oversized gut before anyone else does, he beat them to the punch...or something to that effect. I heard him talk about it a few years ago, but it’s something like whatever the hell I’m trying to say.
The one I heard was that he couldn't figure out what to wear while doing stand up - since a lot of stand up guys have an outfit... So he decided to go shirtless
he and 1 of his daughters both have texture issues w/ clothing. to tight to scratchy too.... it's just a thing he has. wearing no shirt is more comfortable than wearing a shirt. also he's from flordia so there IS that too.

Bert on Conan is hilarious. The Bert story about Koreans is good too. Sometimes I watch other people watch The Machine once a day. Pictures of Bert popped up in Russia from Russians. The teacher then asked Bert to party with when gangsters because every thing went smoothly. Partying with the police was the thing that made Bert most fearful. There was no one to tell them no.

One thing I discovered after moving to Arkansas.. folks really do believe in HEART here and do t judge you by looks like they do on both coasts. You can be 55, fat, hairy.. And run around all day with your shirt off and even pretty girls will come right up and talk to you. Folks here are simply raised to believe in character over looks.
