I'm really curious to know why so many people dislike forky?
Cause he’s the ultimate plot device. Nothing would have happened in the movie if he wasn’t made. Not to mention he breaks the rules of sentience in the Toy Story universe.
And he’s ungodly annoying

I prefer the original Toy Story 4, because there's no Forky and Bonnie doesn't spend the majority of the movie not caring about Woody anymore. They spent more time with the dialogue between Woody and Bo Peep, and there was actually a connection between the two of them, instead of in the actual movie when we all we got was a flashback with Bo being given away and then Forky becomes the reason why they reunite later on. This stupid spork didn't need to exist, that was the problem.

About Toy Story 4, I'm on a 50/50, because something that the deleted versions of the film have and that unfortunately weren't in the final version, are more scenes starring Woody and Bo Peep, more dialogue between the two (well this was the reason for Toy Story 4) in the final version, the scenes of the two are fine, but many more scenes were needed. In early scripts, the movie wasn't going to have as much awkward comedy.
But something very interesting that the final version has, and not the eliminated versions, is having matured the character of Bo Peep putting a background to the metaphor of life finished and then reborn; in a few words “Value your past, but live the present” And above all, Woody's existential crisis in this film, you are not seeing a simple toy, he is practically a human being who feels that his life has ended; something quite strong that I never imagined they would do with this character. Painfully this happens in real life. Woody, Bo Peep and Gabby Gabby took over the film, the rest leaves a lot to be desired.
I think the awkward comedy works because that's something more akin to real life situations and for the two of them reuniting after nine years of not seeing each other, I think it works considering how close they were in the first two films. The body language is what sells it.
@@buzzytrombone4353 Regarding the awkward comedy, I mean the scenes where Buzz comes to life behind Bonnie's mom's back to tell her where her backpack was, and also the GPS scenes in the camper where the toys take over and Bonnie's parents they did not realized.

@@buzzytrombone4353 Yes but not the same. Woody wasn't that close to Hanahh there, he was away from her. The problem with those scenes in Toy Story 4 is that they're a self-parody of the basic rules about toys and the moments when they come to life. The only perhaps justifiable moment is when Woody and Sid's toys come to life in front of him.

Honestly, In my opinion, I think that the 4th movie is the worst in the franchise

Lightyear: It’s fine, even though Buzz already has an origin story show everyone forgets about, including Disney. Also that plot twist was almost as stupid as Toy Story 4’s ending.
I read the entire script, and it was amazing. The whole time I was reading it, I started to form a grin on my face just like what the original trilogy did to me. Ben Karlin did an excellent job, and I wished they kept this script.

1. The fact that the only thing he could say was trash at the start, at first it was fine but it got annoying after the fifth time.
2. The only reason he stopped wanting to throw himself in to trash was because Woody said "your Bonnies trash" and boom he loves being a toy now, even though the entirety of his screen time Sporky didn't want to be a toy. It's bad writing ngl.
3. It doesn't makes sense that he wants to throw himself in to trash, Sporky reasoning is that he came from trash now must return to it . But no other toy has ever felt that way, we don't see any other toys wanting to go back to the factories they came from.
1. He contradicts every single world-building thing they did in the first 3 because he shouldn’t be alive
2. He magically stops being suicidal when he heard the words he was Bonny’s trash
3. He told gabby gabby woodys life story which made everyone convinced she was good and got woodys voice box
4. He is the reason this god forsaken movies plot is so terrible because nothing in this movie makes sense
5. He got the final hug with Woody and not BUZZ FREAKING LIGHTYEAR

Ok, so I know some people (probably half) hate this movie, and I definitely respect your opinions. I do wish we had a different story for the 4th but it did had a meaning to it that many of us did not notice and just started hating it. Many people hate it because woody left his family for bo peep. Bonnie didn't play with him, although she did play with him in a few scenes there was something wrong with woody. He felt lost.Take this as an example. Woody's friends are our family and Woody is us. We grow up with our family and then we move on start a new life. Another thing about this movie is that Woody has been loyal ( and I mean VERY loyal) to his friends that he didn't even got a chance to decide whats good for him. Something that I do hate about the movie is how Buzz is just pressing buttons. Other than that the movie was more about Woody's life so it could have been named something else than Toy Story 4. Since we didn't got that much scenes of the other characters, we would probably have more scenes of them in the 5th since it was confirmed a while ago.If you disagree with me than you can reply to me why but respectfully. If your just going to disrespect my opinion then don't comment.

Considering the final draft has a villain who basically gets off scot-free in a series known for its villains receiving incredibly satisfying karmic justice, I'll take the version where there's no villain to escape punishment.
I honestly would prefer this version than the one we got IMO (also kinda curious on what are your thoughts on TS4?)

This was the reason it came in 2019 instead of 2018

@@bengilhooly3616 No it did NOT fail. Fans were divided on it but critics loved it and it was also a HUGE commercial success. It's Pixar's highest grossing movie and one of the highest grossing animated movies.

Second version of Toy Story 4: Written by Rashida Jones and Will Macormick (2014-2016) "romantic comedy starring with Woody and Bo Peep"
I like this idea better. It's rough around the edges, but it doesn't seem like it would destroy any characters. 2 Major things that I would change about it is Bo doesn't leave her sheep behind, and no body swap. That is just weird and would distract from the movie if done improperly.
I HATE TOY STORY 4!!!!!! IT DESTROYED ALMOST EVERY OLD CHARACTER!!!!!!!! WHILE ADDING NEW CHARACTERS THAT I CARE NOTHING ABOUT. also, they pander to our nostalgia by playing music from the trilogy. Whereas the only song each of the 3 movies had in common was "Friend in me." TS4 used ALL the songs from all 3 movies. And did so with the only intention of trying to find a way to fit them in for nostalgia pandering. I could rant for hours. But I'll spare you.
I frankly think the final film is better because it completes Woody's story in a mature way where he shelves whatever trauma he developed in the second film. I would've been fine with this version if the sub plot of Woody and Buzz swapping heads wasn't in it and it was simply about Woody going to the store with Buzz to collect Bo, with the rest of the movie being her reconnecting with the toys, watching Bonnie grow up. Nothing particularly special but more or less a nice add on that could've been economically viable.
Honesty I don't really think leaving your family to be with a girl you haven't seen for 9 years is very mature.
Toy story 3 did a better job of showcasing maturity.

So your telling me that this version of Toy Story 4 was supposed to come out in 2013 and probably right after this film we would’ve gotten a Toy Story 5 around 2017 and that would probably be it for the franchise

Woody would NEVER NOT EVER LEAVE HIS KID! HE IS NOT USELESS! BONNIE STILL NEEDED HIM! BONNIE LOVED TO PLAY WITH WOODY! In Toy Story 3 she was gonna cry when Andy didn't wanna give her Woody. In every Toy Story short we see Bonnie love playing with Woody! And Woody says he feels useless after not being played with 3 out of 7 days? I'm sorry! WHAT? Woody waited in a chest for YEARS when Andy stopped playing with him! All of a sudden after at least 2 years of playtime with Bonnie (as we see 2 Christmases in the shorts) he decides he is done after 3 DAYS!!??!?? I'M SORRY, BUT NO! The reason he was thinking about leaving Andy in Toy Story 2 was not because he was afraid of not getting played with, or afraid Andy would outgrow him (although, that was mentioned in that movie.) No, it was because he was struggling with the idea of not lasting forever. That one day he might be to broken to fix. And Andy wouldn't want him anymore. Basically, what Prospector (and Al) was offering Woody was eternal (ish) life. Guaranteed long life being kept the way he is for as long as possible. He was not thinking about leaving Andy because of not being played with. As seen in TS3, he is more than willing to wait in a toychest until the day Andy needs him again. Encourages the other toys to do the same. HE WOULD NEVER EVER LEAVE BONNIE AFTER ANDY HIMSELF PASSED HIM DOWN TO HER!!!!!!!! EVER! Unless Bonnie, Willingly, knowingly passed Woody on to another kid herself, there is no reason. None, whatsoever that would make Woody leave Bonnie. And what's worse. BUZZ TOLD HIM TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHHHHAAAAAAATTTT!????????????? NO NEVER! Buzz was the one to convince Woody to go back to Andy in TS2. He was the one to snap him out of it and get him back to Andy who still needed them. To get Jessie and Bullseye the kid they've wanted for so long. Buzz would never tell Woody to leave Bonnie to be with Bo frickin Peep(who treated Woody terribly the entirety of TS4) Buzz was absolutely destroyed in TS4. Woody was completely destroyed in TS4. They even managed to destroy Bo Peep. Then, they shoved every other toy we cared about into an RV to do nothing the whole movie. With Jessie's only contribution being to pop a tire and make the worst pun in the history of puns!

I respect your opinion, but in defense of it ( idk why this sounds weird when I said that lol) this movie was probably because Toy Story didn't had any ideas for another movie in that time and many fans wanted a 4th movie so they made the 4th which actually had a meaning to it. To start off with Bo, Bo was only acting like that with Woody because it was when she was mad at him when she lost her sheep. Imagine a mother who lost her kids like Bo who lost her sheep. The mother would be acting different. We later see in a scene after Bo and Woody had an argument, Mc Giggles (idk if that's her name lmao) starts talking about how Woody was crazy and stuff. We see Bo later saying that he always sacrifes for everyone. Mc Giggles says that "by putting everyone in danger, that crazy loyalty is just-" and gets inturuppted by Bo saying that that's why she loves him more. Now, the movie was basically more about Woody than the other characters so the movie could have been named something else instead of Toy Story 4. The movie was made to show people to move on. Woody has been a loyal friend (and I mean VERY loyal) that he has been putting himself in danger to save his friends through those adventures in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd movie. He doesn't care if its just ONE toy that's left behind, he would rescue that toy no matter what. He has never chose something for himself tho. He wanted to stay with Andy in college but he decided to go with Bonnie instead to be with his friends. Which yes Bonnie played with him in a few shorts from disney plus and scenes from the beginning of the 4th movie. But something was wrong. Woody felt lost. When bo and Woody were arguing, woody said " Because I don't have anything else to do." Woody was probably;y forgotten from Bonnie for a few days by Bonnie in the closet. Not to mention she never realized he was gone through put the whole movie. IM GETTING A BIT LOST HERE IM JUST NOT GOOD AT EXPLAINING SO IF U GET CONFUSED PLS LET ME KNOW!! Woody realizes there is more than just being a toy. His friends at the end of the movie wanted him to have his own life to make his own decisions and be with bo helping other toys that are lost. Now if you see here its basically telling us like us and our own family. We grow up with them and we then leave to begin our own life with our love, or single. Other than that, I'm not like those other people who actually disrespect your opinion over a movie but I'm just here to explain what the movie meant. And yes I do wish the movie had a different story, the movie wasn't really great but it also wasn't that bad.

How did woody and buzz’s bodies get switched?
Well, I’m sure not a fan of the ending for the actual one I was distraught ruined I cried I even try to give my woody doll to a guy and a little boy assuming it was a father with his son, but I didn’t do it and now I feel like our friendship has a dent. I’ve suffered so much from that I worry.
I’d never give my 2009 Woody who is my original one and Woody.EXE away because I love them so much

I found him wondering my college one day and he agreed to me being his owner. Then he meets my 2009 Woody hours later. Both Woodys have been in many celebrations since with me, my sister and Mummy. All 4 of them will come together again for mine and Woody.EXE’s coronation on July 20th, 2023; my 21st birthday and my sisters birthday

I read 50 pages and tbh, It kinda sucks. I would have been so bored and disappointed with this alternate Toy Story 4. I personally rank all Toy Story films including Lightyear a 10/10 because I love this franchise so much. But if this came out ? It would have deeply frustrated me. I read the full script for the circle 7 alternate Toy Story 3 and I kinda liked it. Sure the Toy Story 3 we got is 10 times better but this storyline with the monkey HeeHee and Gladiola at Andy's Grandma's creepy house was way better than this 2013 script. Although that TS3 script also separates Buzz's head and I hate this idea, I think it's a no go for any Toy Story script. I love Toy Story 4 and I love Toy Story 3 and I'm thankful we got them the way they are and not those questionable first scripts.
