Honestly, toy makers being completely aware of the fact that toys are alive makes perfect sense. He literally created them, so of course he would know about the fact that the toys are alive.
It would be interesting for some movie like Toy Story, toy creators or collectors having a sense knowing their creations/ collections are alive could be its own series.

It also makes some of their decisions cruel. Like how every few years Transformers will create a line of newer, fancier versions of their existing toys. Each generation living in constant fear of being replaced by the next.

Actually, Disney Television Animation and The Disney movies are 2 different departments that don't interact.

@@Sick_1m No the restrictions are not the same. Movies don't have to follow FCC regulations. Tv shows do have to follow FCC regulations or you have to pay a fine. Movies are given much more freedom you just slap G, PG, PG 13, etc.
@@Sick_1m Also Gravity Falls having censorship was a good thing. There was one scene that got cut where Dipper snapped Dippy Fresh's neck. If they left that in I would have hatted Dipper and hatted the show forever. It's a good thing they didn't.

The concept of a toy talking to a human I am surprised hasn't happened in a movie already, I mean, we got them scaring Sid in the first movie, but a full on conversation? I wonder if that'll ever happen. It's always been a sacred rule that they can never reveal themselves or talk or communicate, but it seems like an obvious twist that one day, they will.
That's the thing. It's so cheap and obvious, so Bee movie-esque, that Pixar is above it.

Then Woody adds: "Oh, What Harm could it have done Buzz? We Just Screwed him up for the Rest of his Life, That's all." And Then we Hear Sid still Screaming: "No! No! No! Aah! No! I'm Sorry! I'm Sorry! No! No! I'll Never Hurt you Again! No! No! Mom!" While the Mutant Toys are Waving at Buzz and Woody and they wave Back. Then the Mutants Pull the Window shade down and Woody and Buzz share Satisfied Looks.
Unironically, the most unbelievable part about this whole thing is the idea that Disney would set a movie in Taiwan.

It's weird to think that Disney would do . . . those weird things to the characters. Whereas Pixar just wants to make a genuinely sweet story with these toys, Disney wants to through on all sorts of propaganda . . . really glad that the "real" Toy Story 3 didn't go that route.

I’d like to be generous and assume that line was simply to give executives something to object to, to throw them off the scent so the the writers can keep a somewhat less-objectionable line.

I've always hated that the human personality of Buzz depended upon the functioning of a crappy chip put there for memorizing a bunch of catchphrases. What about all the other toys that don't have chips inside?
A toy with batteries has to go into a coma when the batteries run out, but a toy without batteries isn't dead. Different toys are played with differently, so they live differently. Buzz had a factory reset button- it makes sense that it is incorporated into his conscious life.

@@toothpasteman3400 monster's inc doesn't sound like fanfiction at all because it's an original story that isn't taking direct influence from any other work. This, however is directly taking and is blatantly suppose to be Toy Story and it sounds like some teen wrote it, not an adult working in the industry.

I like the concept of Buzz malfunctioning; while it is similar to Woody's broken arm, I feel like it would be able to tackle different issues, mainly while Woody is a rare collector's item, there are plenty of other Buzz's, and I think it could lead to Buzz questioning how easily he could be replaced, wondering if Andy would even notice if he did replaced with another Buzz.
I think the scene with the toymaker would have worked better if the letter didn't burn, and when he enters the room and the toys plop down, he just talks to them like they're alive, spot the letter before reading it and asking them if they wrote it, with an inflection that could hint that he's joking, but also imply that he is aware that they are alive. Then upon reading the note, he gets completely serious and rushes out to put a stop to the destruction of the toys. Basically, if it heavily implies that he knows, but never confirms, I think that would be better.
With some touching up, like you suggest, the movie would've been good. Not Toy Story 3 proper good, but... still good. Maybe a... Zak Snyder Toy Story 3 in the future could be like this.

No, this is the Toy Story 3 movie that was never made. Disney was going to make their own 3D computer animation studio to make their version of the film without Pixar's involvement. It was thrown out, and replaced with the real Toy Story 3 that got released in 2010.

Know what? I kinda wanna see what this movie would've been like if it actually came out. It has some interesting concepts, and the entire thing seems like it'd be hilarious in that "so bad it's good" sense.
I feel like the old version of the Toy Story 3 had some promise, mainly because I think the movies focus on Woody too much.
That's because, despite Buzz being the second head of the Toy Story franchise, the series really is about Woody and his connection to Andy.
He is the main character and has been all along

I kinda love the idea of an old toy creator knowing about the living toys somehow. The idea that he has been around long enough to learn their secrets and maybe know about the reasons why they come alive, but only hinting to it.
I remember in Toy Story 4 there was a deleted scene of Buzz hanging out with bootleg versions of himself, and honestly that would have been a really cool premise.
I mean they did have a "McDonald's" toy of Buzz so he could be a bootleg kinda like a call back or easter egg for fans

I get that Pixar includes a lot of adult jokes, but it seems the Circle 7 version of Toy Story 3 took it one step too far. Zathura may have gotten away with adding a swear word scot-free, but I doubt that the same would have happened to this movie.

Heck, the two Frozen movies show soldiers in the 1840s with SWORDS AND SHIELDS. Seriously, Disney? Anyone who's read one history book knows rifles and muskets were primarily used at the time. Too scared to show any guns? Disney literally showed them in both Beauty and the Beast and Pocahontas. Heck, Mulan shows a battle scene with rockets. Nowadays, a Disney "battle scene" usually ends in seconds and almost nobody dies except sometimes the main villain. 75% of the time, it's revealed to have been all a misunderstanding and everyone's soon friends again. Give me a break!

This clearly needed a lot of editing, but it seems like it could've turned into something really good. I really like the prospect of a toymaker that knows the toys are alive, or any humans, really.

Heck, why does almost no one talk about Angus McLane's masterpiece, Toy Story of Terror? That TV special was one of the funniest installments of the entire franchise, and was unique because it gave us a deeper look at Jessie's claustrophobia (and her battles against it).

John Lassiter was one of the writers for the film and was there for most of the production so I’m assuming our Toy Story 4 is pretty similar to what he wanted.

I really like the idea of Toy Makers knowing that Toys are alive, like maybe they're the reason why Toys go limp when a human is around because they were told to do so by their makers. Toys don't go limp when another living creature sees them, only when a human is directly looking at them. That is extremely specific for some kind of natural instinct & and an unspoken rule that all Toys follow.
But if they were told to do so by their maker then it would make more sense, and this could also be where the backstories come from. Then mass-produced Toys are copies of the original one made by a Toy Maker, having the same memories & skills until they finally start being played with/interacting with things.
With Toy Story 5 being announced, maybe they'll cover this idea or something similar. At the moment it seems like a pointless cashgrab but only because we have no information about the new movie. Toy Story 4 was made because the team had new ideas they wanted to tell in the TS universe...some were told badly but it wasn't a lazy retrend of the other movies. TS5 may have some interesting ideas, and going more in-depth in the human-toy relationship would be good.

I am I the only one who wondered why the toys pretended not to be alive in the first place? So many of the problems could've been easily fixed by just talking to a human, and they never explained their reason for not doing it.
Well, there is a movie that may have inspired Toy Story that reveals the usual consequence of that: The Christmas Toy.
Goodness! This is such a strange yet intriguing concept! It's also kinda dark what with the smasher, and the malfunctioning toys having some unsettling issues for being recalled.
I also love the idea of someone knowing the toys are alive. I think the Toy Story movies changed how I saw toys. It's caused me to feel more attached to my toys, but it's also made me reluctant to give them away to other people, because I think they won't love them the same way as I have.
I sometimes imagine them in Toy Story like scenarios in my head. I imagine them discussing stuff about me when no one is around, and I also imagine them going to see my Christmas and Birthday presents that have been put away before the day arrives.
Yeah, maybe it's strange, but I think it's helped me make some good choices with toys, and helped me figure out the best thing to do with them, and that's to love them. I reckon a toy can only really be happy when it's loved by someone.
That is actually something I can relate to.

Toymakers knowing that the toys are alive makes so much sense when you think about it, because, you know, he's the ones that makes them. I would have loved for them to use some of these concepts. meeting recalled toys, communicating to
foreign ones, and toy makers knowing toys are alive are such amazing concepts to explore. I wish that this one could have been made, still real Toy Story 3 still existing but I wish they could have made it somehow

I would like to see that concept explored again or what happens if toys being alive was showcased to a lot of people(Woody mentioned in the first movie that what he did was “against the rules”) so I kinda always wondered about it

This is now one of my favorite RUclips videos, full stop. I feel like Pixar should revisit this concept and make a spinoff film of the original Toy Story series, with Buzz as the main character. Sure, the "toy-gets-lost-and-has-to-be-rescued" trope is common in a movie like Toy Story, but if they did it right, an international Toy Story film, with the toys going overseas to find Buzz, could actually be really good.
The plot of this one, minus the racist interaction with the Taiwanese toys, the paper dolls bit and Cindy Scissors, could really work. Some of the elements might have to be rewritten, like the archive room, but it could easily be done. Perhaps instead of Taiwan, the movie is set in Tokyo, Japan, to tie it back to the thread from TS2 where Stinky Pete mentions the toy museum there. The recall/reject toys sound really cool, especially Jade with the blade in her leg. The line with "To infinity and be-yotch" is hilarious and I would love to have that tossed in a movie. The conveyor-belt fight with Dax would be epic, but it would be more epic if they had to avoid the people on the factory floor. I also love the idea of Mr. Kagoi discovering the toys' existence, also tying things back to Sid's discovery in the first movie. And the comedy they can do with references to knockoff toys, language barriers, toys with accidental features, and so on... I need to get my hands on this script. There's just so much possibility...
I honestly believe that if Pixar ever returns to the Toy Story universe for the big screen, it has to be some sort of spinoff series that focuses on the remaining gang, possibly with Forky filling the Woody role (since this would likely be post-TS4). How they'd do Mr. Potato Head's voice is beyond me, unless they figure out how to use unused voice lines (like JJ Abrams did in The Rise of Skywalker with Leia). And with this plot of Buzz nearly dying and this international intrigue and this kind-hearted executive who understands the toys... it's perfect for a Pixar film, either as the beginning of some new adventures with Buzz as the main character, or as the Avengers: Endgame of Toy Story, with characters from all the movies, specials and shorts coming back for a big final battle. OK, maybe not that last one, but that's still a solid idea.

I kinda wanna see someone tackle this concept, just... take out the questionable stuff. Some adult jokes are fine, they happen all the time as parental bonuses, but that much seems strange.
Also, the toymaker knowing that the toys are alive is an interesting concept.

Wow, learned some new things about this! As weird as this would have been I wish we would have gotten it. As long as we somehow still got the real Toy Story 3 as well. One thing I feel the need to mention is that we have seen a couple of Pez dispensers before. Ducky, one of Sids toys was one with added parts and there was also a normal one in Toy Story of Terror. Interesting that Tom Hanks wasn’t going to do this as there’s actual test animation from Circle 7 that used an audio clip from the baseball movie he was in. Also, I remember back around 2005 or sometime around then reading about a cancelled Toy Story 3 (which was this) and I don’t remember what all it said but in it it said “To infinity and be-yotch!” I have to assume it referring to the line in the script? I was young enough at the time to have not realized that was basically swearing and I was reading the article to my sister and she was like “That was a swear word, you just swore” and it was quiet and awkward. I hope I still have that somewhere but I kind of doubt it.
Honestly sounds better than the real TS3. By the way, how the fuck would they sell this movie in mainland China with all the Taiwanese stuff?

I just have to say, that recalled toy image is the dumbest thing i've ever seen.
Imagine that you work retail and you're informed you have to individually label all the the recalled toys as recalled, but leave them on the shelf (???)
That doesn't make any sense.
If they were recalled, they'd move them all to a back room and box them up to be shipped back so nobody tries to buy them, or worse, shoplift them out of desperation, because they'd become a hot ticket collectors item.
I wouldn't mind actually seeing this version. There's some parts in this that sound genuinely interesting like the giant toy battle, recalled toys and the creator talking to toys. We only ever see any toys actually talk to one person which was Sid in the first movie. Having the reverse and having someone who genuinely cares about toys talk to them would of been a nice twist.
Thank god we're not in that timeline, bro my childhood would've been ruined if that had happened, thank god we got the amazing toy story 3 that we all know and love today!
Toy Story 3 came out during the same year I graduated high school, so I thought that it was the perfect ending to the series... Until the 4th one came out. I got kind of emotional because it was like I grew up with Andy in a way. It also convinced me to donate my toys to children, only leaving the toys that have sentimental value for me. (And a bunch of imported stuffed animals I got from conventions that I impulse bought.)
I loved Toy Story 1 and 2. 2 ended on a great message of making the most of the time you have with those you care about. They're still my favorite Pixar movies. 3 had a good ending, but I would have preferred if the toys had gone to the attic and then Andy would have given them to his kids years later. 4 didn't need to be made.

I recall something about John Ratburger, after getting supposedly "fired" for something sexy and he pitched the idea for that _cash-grab._ That pervert literally begged Pixar to make yet ANOTHER Disney sequel nobody asked for that swindled DreamWorks' last chance to win an Oscar for HTTYD.
