Playing all 3 gears game made me realize. Each has something I wish the other had. Gears 1 has by far the best gunplay, I like the fact all the weapons uses really fast projectiles instead of hitscan. I love the sound design and the aggressive shaking of the weapons, and the stupid ragdoll physics. I understand what Charlie was saying when he was saying “leading his shot” now, it’s projectiles. Unfortunately with that comes an advantage of host shots going faster, and that this mechanic is clearly an accident, and it’s hard to replicate an accident. The only way I can imagine it being put into a modern game on purpose, is if the devs made the projectiles go a bit slower but it still means the host can have an advantage. Gears 2 has a far more interesting environment with nexus and the story mode is pretty awesome, I’m not as big of a fan of Skorge as I am for Raam, which is kind of weird because they don’t have much too either of them until much later. It also hits the hardest emotionally out of the 3, Tai and Maria, like god damn. Also the maps in versus have a lot of random occurrences, that can change the game a lot, like the avalanche, and shard hail, I don’t know if gears 1 or 3 had them, so far nothing like that has occurred for me on those. Gears of war 3 has the most content, more weapons more variety of different modes that were all awesome, and much more freedom. It also has in my opinion the best OVERALL art direction, far better than gears 4 and 5, which do look more realistic technically, but isn’t as appealing. And the campaign of 3 I feel is paced better than the others, solid beginning middle and end. The campaign also had far more variety in terms of where you went in the story, but damn do I wish I got to see what nexus looked like in this game. When it comes to which gears game is my favorite, it sorta depends. I’d play Gears 1 if I want to feel that awesome gunplay. Gears 2 if I want to immerse myself in Nexus environments, the nostalgic emotional investment of the characters, and intriguing multiplayer maps, I’d play gears of war 2. Gears 3 for all the insane content like beast mode, arcade mode, the ability to play as general Raam in that DLC campaign, all the different options for weapons, and in my opinion a more replay-able campaign. Gears 3 is probably the game I’d play first to get me back into the feel of gears of war and then just switch back and forth between games depending on mood.
Gears 2 and 5 are my top favorites. I genuinely don't understand the hate for Gears 5. It has the best character development in the series; it turns generic action heroes into complex characters, and its levels, while not as good as gears 2, are better than gears 3 imo. The hate for it Mind boggles me 🙁.
@lookatthem3216 the multi-player and horde mode is very solid in gears 3, the story mode is the 2nd greatest in the series, (1st being gears 2) but my biggest complaint of the game is the retro Lancer, the thing is broken in multi-player and if you decide to load up some online, that's what most people are using.
I am of the honest belief that video game graphics peaked in the 2010s. A lot of games today get so caught up in realism that it gives the devs less room to experiment and paint an imaginative picture. Games like gears 2 walk this line of style and realism that is rare to find nowadays. Dead space 2 and Halo:Reach come to mind as good examples too. Also GoW4 was a pretty good legacy sequel imo, though I never did finish it.
Speaking of war, *KAIJU No.8* This manga is about a dystopian Japan that is rampaged by giant monsters on a daily basis. But a new variant of monsters wants to bring in a new era for the monster kind. Now it's all of Japan + one human-kaiju hybrid VS all the monsters. There is also a newly released anime based on it as well
Imo Gears 2 wasn't that hard on insane in my recent go around. Besides a few rage filled sections it was a breeze. The only part that really got on my nerves was the centar mission at the Mount Kadar cave entrance. "dOm ShOoT tHe ToWeR" "DoM sHoOt ThE tOwEr" like you get half a millisecond before you get gunned down by everybody spawning in
Had to have been around 8-9 when this came out so it was my first introduction to the series. Cole Trains entrance will always be a solid favorite along with Might Guy’s Dynamic Entry
I hated the part where you pilot the centaur. Felt so bad to handle and the part with the ice, forget it. Sometimes thats one of the reasons why I dont wanna play the campaign again cuz ik im gonna have to sit there for a while and fight the controls 😅
Gears 2 was the first game i got on my xbox 360 but i didnt have a memory stick so i had to leave my xbox on for weeks straight. I still have the disc and its completely laser burned
When your fighting skorge and Marcus say's "You mad we killed your pet worm?" skorge isn't mad because Marcus killed the worm, Skorge was pissed because Marcus killed Ra'am. Skorge and Ra'am was like Marcus and Dom, they were like brothers. Skorge was a outcast from the priests that worshiped the worms, and Ra'am is the only one who treated him fair and like a friend. A little lore your welcome.
"Sometimes, death is all you can see. It's all around you. It consumes you. So you have to look at it in the eye... and bare your teeth." - Marcus Fenix
I get jealous thinking about everyone else who got to experience these games. As a 2004 baby, I didn't have an Xbox until around 2012, and even then we never had internet to play online. Around 2022 I played Gears 5 for the first time cause my friend wanted to play the campaign. We haven't finished it yet lol, but I played a LOT of horde and some multiplayer. I'm a Cod zombies fan so I love horde. Anyways, since my friend grew up playing Gears he said he wants to play through all the campaigns in order from the first game to the most recent. When we do finally get around to play them, I wanna see for myself what I couldn't experience back when I had my no wifi Xbox. Seeing the story looks really enticing, and I love watching Charlie have fun with it. I don't really get whats going on exactly, but it still looks hella cool.
Man, this took me back to my teenage years. Had both of the gears 3 and 5 special edition consoles. Gears 2 was probably one of my most favorite games of all time though. So many good memories with my two buddies grinding it out all day everyday in guardian. Then in Gears 3 when Dom sacrificed himself, that is the only time a video game has ever made me tear up. But after gears 3 it fell off. Miss that gears 1-3 era.

So many memories you brought back from my childhood.. my buddy Luis bought me my first gears and we passed it together.. LL Luis Escobar 🙏🏼
It’s always a good day when Charlie fills me with his contents for 2 hours
ayo
suss
yoo 😳
Yeah-
Wait what
Fuck off sub botted account
If Charlie doesn’t play Gears of War 3, then I’ll end it all
I loved gears 3
@@KingShadows23what would you say about it? I'm only asking because I loved gears 1 and 2. Than judgment day came along and heard HORRID shit.
he is playing it
@lookatthem3216 the multi-player and horde mode is very solid in gears 3, the story mode is the 2nd greatest in the series, (1st being gears 2) but my biggest complaint of the game is the retro Lancer, the thing is broken in multi-player and if you decide to load up some online, that's what most people are using.
I'll never have a relationship as committed as Charlie is to Gears of War.

“His name’s tai, right? I think I remember him.” Proof that trauma really does block your memory
There is also a newly released anime based on it as well
Wait is that out already? I thought it was next year.
Been waiting to find a volume 8 of the manga somewhere.
Man I’m almost questioning the existence of the moist Charlie clips channel
this game was my whole childhood thank you for playing it for everyone charlie
Imo Gears 2 wasn't that hard on insane in my recent go around. Besides a few rage filled sections it was a breeze. The only part that really got on my nerves was the centar mission at the Mount Kadar cave entrance.
"dOm ShOoT tHe ToWeR" "DoM sHoOt ThE tOwEr" like you get half a millisecond before you get gunned down by everybody spawning in
57:12 hurts me... so much...
I remember going to circuit city and picking up my copy of GOW2
Shoutout to CC! 🤩
Did anyone notice how Marcus waited after Dom shot Maria?
Something tells me Marcus wouldn't have blamed him if he was saving a bullet for himself.
My mandela effect for this game is remembering seeing dizzy get sawed in half by skorge
What a terrible universe you came from
I really hope that we get a remaster of Gears 2, but im starting to doubt it.
If E-day does well hopefully they at least start thinking about it
Cole Trains entrance is still one of the best in gaming
I love you for playing these charlie such a iconic game
Gears of war 2 was my entry into the series and its my favorite to this day.
I so glad I was able to replay the gears games last year on my series s sadly I had to sell the console a couple months ago
Gears of War 3 had such good marketing, the Mad World trailer blew my mind when I first saw it
Had to have been around 8-9 when this came out so it was my first introduction to the series. Cole Trains entrance will always be a solid favorite along with Might Guy’s Dynamic Entry

Is it me or did I hear "Wort wort wort" referencing the Elites in Halo CE ?
just you/
hell yea it is! the OG helldivers!
When I was about 10 I use to wake up two hours early for school just to playing multiplayer vs insane bots with all sniper weapon pick ups.
I hated the part where you pilot the centaur. Felt so bad to handle and the part with the ice, forget it. Sometimes thats one of the reasons why I dont wanna play the campaign again cuz ik im gonna have to sit there for a while and fight the controls 😅
God, old 360 era games feel so much more violent than more recent games
Gears 2 was the first game i got on my xbox 360 but i didnt have a memory stick so i had to leave my xbox on for weeks straight. I still have the disc and its completely laser burned
I think You should make a video covering that disgusting lexi bonner situation
Finally someone is giving GOW2 its well deserved flowers
When your fighting skorge and Marcus say's "You mad we killed your pet worm?" skorge isn't mad because Marcus killed the worm, Skorge was pissed because Marcus killed Ra'am. Skorge and Ra'am was like Marcus and Dom, they were like brothers. Skorge was a outcast from the priests that worshiped the worms, and Ra'am is the only one who treated him fair and like a friend. A little lore your welcome.
Bens death always hits so hard
When I think about what "being a teenager" felt like, it was an equal mixture of romantic awkwardness and playing Gears of War 2.
Nah somebody gotta upload Charlie reacting to smokepurpp freestyle lol
Gears & Halo are classics. Nothing compares lowkey
"Sometimes, death is all you can see. It's all around you. It consumes you. So you have to look at it in the eye... and bare your teeth." - Marcus Fenix
Gears of War is incredibly underrated
Not underrated just forgotten. We played the living shit out of this game back in the day man.
@@dyyylllaannn it’s just crazy how many people i talk to who haven’t played it
dude yk the tragic part is that these videos aren't getting as much attention as his other videos
gears really is a shell of it's past self
I hope he replays Halo 3 or Reach sometime. These longform videos are really nice to just hang out and build a model kit to.
GoW2 was the perfect game for playing Co-Op with a friend on the Hardest Difficulty.
