This game was why I bought a 360. I mowed lawns in 9th grade and got enough money to buy a 360. When I got it, I called my mom at work and asked her to go to BlockBuster and rent Gears of War for me because my 360 arrived in the mail. She had no idea what the Lancer was, curb stomp, chunking, or the massive amount of blood this game had at that time. She was just happy I saved money and made a big purchase. I don't think Gears is underappreciated or forgotten at all. It was a cornerstone of online gaming for a decade give or take alongside Halo & the original CoD games. Problem was, Gears 1 was really clunky & unfinished, then Gears 2/3 perfected the formula. After that, the series went downhill. It had a good decade or so give or take though
this game takes up atleast 40% of my cerebral fluid, so it’s impossible for time to erase how much of impact it had on me during my high school years, it’s crazy to me though, entire generations haven’t and never will play this absolute gem.
True nostalgia right here, summer vacation me (was 9, my uncle and 2 cousins would played gears of war 1 the first day it came out.
We put a solid 3 full days playing this and oblivion, i remember everyone falling alseep but me, and i layed on the couch, and just stared at the main menu of gears.
Took us hours to kill the beserker (ye i know) and we loved every second of it, even if we died we got such a kick out of the way it played as kids.
Idk why i did it, but it captured me hard, fck i love this game. good ol simpler times.
didnt know u fw gears charles chill like that
This has stream has nostalgia all over😭
Me and my cousin played the campaign together from start to finish I’ll never forget how we both damn near shit our pants when the beserker first appears 😭🤣 we still talk about that shit too this day
Man I just got the first 3 gears again for my 360 a couple weeks ago and here's Charles playing Gears! Good lord the simulation is loving me these days😂😂
The two piece with the shotty in multiplayer… it made people scream
"Dom, I smoke 10 packs of cigs a day, and I'm pissed, Dom. I'm always pissed. Let that be a lesson to yah."
"Aw golly gee, Marcus."
"I'm gay. Nah just kidding."
