The Gears of War franchise is one of the best cover shooter series out there. Gears of War 1, Gears of War 2, and Gears of War 3 are a fantastic trilogy that dominated the Xbox 360 game charts.
Gears of War Judgement, however, was a different story, a game that is considered to be one of the lowest-ranked mainline entries. A lot of people ask why did people hate Gears of War judgment so much?
This is a retrospective of Gears Of War Judgement. A look into why the game flopped and what led to The Coalition buying out the Gears of War Franchise from Epic Games. - Игры
Judgment was like the middle child, it was understood, and hate for a lack of reasons, even if it sucked, it still was hella fun
what do you think was most fun about judgment?
@Boofcans not the guy your asking, but I personally enjoyed the way it added some more meat to the story of the UIR through Padak, and the way that the unique challenges change the game as a way to show what the official story was, VS what was embellished, or even what actually happened VS what they annotated for Kilo Squads achievements
@@Boofcans I had plenty of fun with the story & the multiplayer. This game came out when I was in 6th grade & I remember playing tf out of it
Yup that’s why gears went down the drain cause of these players 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Gears 3 was the best y’all trippin thinking this trash game was good.
Fun fact: the guy who worked on the multiplayer and pushed for the control change went on to work at 343 on Halo 5 and Halo infinite’s multiplayer..
Oooof. See how that turned out lol!
@@Boofcans😂😂😂
Now it all makes sense
Failing upwards at its finest.
That explains it. He clearly thinks every game has to be COD or people just won't know how to play.
50% of the cutscenes in this game were just the four of them kicking/knocking down doors
Bro you’re not wrong
That's sadly needed for the loading times, this game ultimately pushed the Xbox 360 to the max and because of limited GPU memory it had to be splitted... doors was the most "seamless" option to reload and clear video memory.
@@Underp4ntz_Gaming_Channel
Atleast it's better then nothing
@@tdpuuhailee8222we shouldn’t use that type of mindset for the gears series😂 “ we got some rotten food” “atleast it’s better than nothing” that’s how you sound
@@tdpuuhailee8222 use your reading comprehension skills you should have learned in elementary school
Bro did not only condense and explain the story very well in 1 hour, he actually made it exciting and fun to hear props to you, great video
I appreciate that!
The biggest issue, for me, is the Locust in general. The whole idea of the Locust is that they mirror the COG to the most extreme with very specific ranks and positions. You would never see a Kantus Monk fighting on the front line or see Theron Guards outside from paramount positions of power. I get the random replayability outlook but it just goes against the game's core values of militaristic societies. The game was fun but dear god was it a mess, especially the multiplayer microtransactions. You think Dead Space 3 was bad, Gears of War Judgment was way worse.
I didn’t talk about it much but i really did feel like this game threw every enemy type at your face for the sake of adding “variety” but it was executed so poorly.
Core value of Gears of War is "chainsaw goes vroom"
Also you see Kantus and Therons everywhere in every game, what are you talking about?
Im sorry but I disagree heavily with you saying that Judgement is worse than Dead Space 3. That’s a terrible take
@@steelbear2063The Therons didn't show up until the late game for Gears 1, while the Kantus was never in the game.
In Gears 2, the Kantus doesn't show up until you go underground, and the Therons don't show up until you get to the Inner Hollow.
The Kantus was so rare in Gears 3, I'm not even sure any showed up in the story. The Armored Kantus also didn't show up until they were looking for submarine parts. Savage Therons show up as early as Act 2 and Palace Guards show up not long after, but Palace Guards are still a rare sight until the end where you end up in Azura.
After watching all of this, my biggest issue is at the end. Karn survives a massive DIRECT missile strike and comes out looking untouched. Then soaks up some bullets and dies? The least they could’ve done was show him try to activate a shield or dig down to survive leaving us unsure if he lived until the boss fight. Or/and a mutated, distorted, damaged Karn pops up in the boss fight looking like a badass who took a direct missile strike and is still standing.
Yeah that made zero sense. An enemy that tore through cities and was massively feared just to absorb some gunfire and go down.
Maybe the missile weakened him enough to be taken down by them.
Yeah it makes sense to me, a indirect hit could of been believable, because the inverse square law is a b word, but a direct hit is overkill.
I always assumed he went underground to avoid the missile
Played this long before joining the military and I remember thinking how unrealistic this is. Holding a trial while being under siege?
After the military? This is scarily accurate. Loomis reminds me of every other dumb power corrupted officer.
Woah that's scary...
Thats cuzz they don't value loyalty to THE TRUTH anymore it's all about ethics and bs
Yeah being placed in a position that gives you power over others does that to people
Aha too true, "The beatings will continue until morale improves"
My 6 years in the Air Force seeing legal issues amongst other people and all the absolute B.S they had to put up with, yes I agree.
I find Judgement underrated and I really like it, but I understand the hate. View the game similar to Halo ODST, as a experimental spin off. It would have been more loved if it was marketed like that instead of the next major game
I completely agree. Just wish it had a few more bells and whistles.
@Boofcan I feel like if it had more time in the oven, people can fly would have been able to flesh out the declassified system. Atleast it's optional as well, I would skip declassified missions at times I found annoying, and the game was more fun.
Also I would have loved them to do what Halo ODST did for MP where the base MP maps in judgment would actually be on a complete MP disk for Gears 3. So that was instead of trying to replace gears 3, it added to it
Nah it was garbage.
odst was a masterpiece judgement was eh
View the game as similar to God of War Ascension. The knock-off one that wasn't numbered 4 for a reason. They both came out around the same time and were low points of their respective franchises.
Honestly, Baird was easily my favorite character after a while. Normally those smarmy ass characters don't impress me, but something about Baird made him really fun and I loved him.
His self-awareness is what makes me like him.
Because he's still a gear, he's just grumpy because he is constantly in lethal situations
Gears characters in my opinion are about how people adapt to war and losing/loss and hopelessness
Marcus is gruff and sardonic but is a killer and a leader, Baird is an asshole and sarcastic but a tech wiz and realist
Cole is larger than life due to his past but is an effective soldier and has a big heart
Dom is well Dom, he's witty, compassionate, a commando, a true friend and a brother
He is your number 2 and support
And this isn't even getting into gears 3 characters but all of these personalities are in response to the trauma of losing to the locust and also disillusionment with the COG
All of them are gears and will fight and die to accomplish the mission, they are respectable and most of the dialogue is very well written and emotive it all flows
@@PodreyJenkin138 Yeah, it was just really strange how he ended up ingraining himself so well. His original first impression makes him seem like he's gonna be unlikeable, but along the way he ended up turning it around for me and it's a little hard to pinpoint where. I heard Judgement wasn't a great game but I hope I get a chance to play it at some point.
@@Rex-qf7en
I think once you get to the letha impulsion facility they start to warm on you, there's a lot of good dialogue there, by gears 3 baird definitely is one of my favorites
He's also really good in 4 and 5, definitely one of the highlights of such a up and down game
I suppose you want me to say I always loved you... but I don't, I really really don't
Gear of War 3 was one of the greatest games of all time. GoW Judgment could do only two things: repeat the same type of gameplay and story that made the first three games bangers or try to push the saga forward. They chose too little of both. My very first gripe is how they change the button layout. It felt unfamiliar for the wrong reason. Reprogramming myself to use the new layout took me out of the game until I learned how to switch to classic mode. Also, it was too many waves of enemies. It felt like a chore sometimes.
dude it deadass did feel like a chore to play, and you hit it right on the nail. They choose too little of both.
there is a classic mode?
@@ickytheclown it's been a while since I played it but you can set your controller to mimic the original thumbnail layout
I've played through Judgement a few times since it launched, and I never once thought of looking for a default controller setting... The controls were honestly one of my biggest gripes with Judgement (aside from them making horde mode part of the campaign), and one of the biggest things that made it feel disconnected from the previous 3. To find out after 10 years that you can change the controls makes me feel stupid. I'm changing to the classic controls as soon as I boot it up again.
I respect that take. BUT GEARS 2 IS THE GOAT
Bro rest in peace Benjamin carmine I wanted dude to live so bad because he was so bright and optimistic I was so sad and them furious he dudes the way he did took out all that rage on the locust for the rest of the game my battle cry was for carmine
I bawled like a mf baby when i played GOW2 as a kid.
I'm so glad someone agrees. Benjamin Carmine was one of my favorite characters in gaming. I played as him in every GoW game after almost exclusively.
I liked the story telling of Karn despite being feeble taking in and caring for a deformed corpser and how the two of them made each other stronger
Its actually a good action bro story when you put it like that
I played through the entire campaign at a friend's house back when this was released. Enjoyed the campaigna bit, but I agree that Aftermathwas much better, despitebeing much shorter. Also, I always thought Paduk was one of the best things to come from this game, and it was cool to see him come back in 5
Fun fact about Paduk, you can find a document during the Aspho Fields flashback in the prologue of Gears 4 with an order from him saying that if the lab was breached, that the place be mortared.
43:02
Honestly, man, this was the part of the game where I went from feeling some type of way about Loomis to absolutely loving the madman of a character he is. Man's truly gave no fucks about safety or fighting the ongoing fight. He was so hellbent on holding Kilo Squad accountable for what the books would call insubordination that he was very much so willing to get everyone else clipped for it.
Add in the personal comedy touch you put in for the edits, you got a sub in me lmao
Loomis was a trip man. Sad he got killed off screen according to the wiki lol
@@Boofcanswell well well, who could see that coming ?
@@BoofcansCorrect, In gears 5 you can find his name on a Memorial.
@@Boofcans According to the game you played actually. They note his plaque and how he died in Halvo Bay.
Judgement having the Lancer (which is actually the Lancer Mk2) and the version of the Hammerburst which is the Hammerburst 2 and can be identified by its semi auto/full auto firing and visual appearance which are VERY anachronistic to the timeline due to the Lancer we know coming to be a decent time AFTER emergence day and was made by Adam Fenix with help from Marcus
Maybe they thought that Retro Lancer would be too clunky as the main rifle? Then again they could have simply changed its fire rate and recoil
This was a big reason i didn't care for it.
@@sneedclavehere8918I think it's more about the fact the chainsaw is just iconic. Doubt they would ever make a gears game where a chainsaw lancer isn't the default gun. Plus it definitely sets the mood in a way, just the chainsaw gore makes this game way more gory than it otherwise would be.
Also in general the melee with the retro lancer kinda just feels bad at times (even though IMO it's a more useful melee).
BRO THANK YOU.
I'm a loreguy myself and this tuck out to me immediately.
And lets not even mention that they deployed the BLACK OPS onyx guard like a regular battalion of infantry despite them never really being confirmed to exist even after the COG fell.
I love the collectible I gears 3 that mentions it being inspired after Tai was spotted killing a drone with a chainsaw
As someone that finish this game in the max difficulty i can tell, DON'T TAKE CHALLENGES, i try to finish this game with 3 stars each level and is pain with the extra objectives
Dude that last challenge using only melee in the courtroom was awful lol
@@Boofcans try finish this game with all onyx stars, you are going insane
@@cringydinosaur635 made me quit judgement lol!
I manage to do it, almost, excepet the in cole testament in the windy part is the only part i didnt got 3 stars, and at that point i didnt have the courage to do it anymore after fighting karn. Insane is a perfect name for that difficulty
@@loganlemaire4030 Karn is the worst
you lose one time and the fight all over again
With all the problems it has, I did enjoy Judgement. Got all the Onyx stars in insane with declassified missions even if it made kid me cry of frustration. And I'm glad you are a fellow Retro Lancer Enjoyer. Also I think the Breechshot was a pretty cool rewarding weapon for pulling those well place shots.
The two primary reasons I absolutely LOVE Judgement is that I’m a fan of Baird and I always wanted to experience the intensity of E-Day!
Judgement got me through a very tough time in my life. Even though it wasn’t perfect, it gave me better memories than the other installments. Kinda like ODST.
I tried hard to like judgment, but the third game was always my favorite.
Ey don't disrespect ODST like that
Second game for me, just following up the worm level with the siren, razor ice level than the tank section.@@BeffLorg
For me, Judgment has the one of the best PVP experiences in gaming, and that is Overrun. While sounding like just a simple mix of Beast and Horde mode together on paper, it is so much more in depth than that, with a lot of tactical game play that you can hardly find anywhere else. One player on the locust side can spawn as a Ticker, while the other spawns as a Grenadier. The Grenadier player can immediately throw a grenade at the Ticker player, who then eats the grenade. Then, they move forward, with the Grenadier providing cover fire while the Ticker eats away at the barricade. Alternatively, the Grenadier can use the melee attack to kick the Ticker over the barricade, who then explodes while also dropping the grenade it ate earlier for a secondary detonation. If the makers of Gear of War had ever expanded on this, they could have made one of the best PVP experiences even better, but sadly they decided to scrap it all because the story and other gameplay wasnt as good as previous titles. Some of my best memories of Gear of War was during private games of Overrun with friends, and I still miss some of those to this day.
In my opinion, Judgement was a convoluted means to sell people a whole game packaged with the missing act from gears 3. This makes 3 like its predecessors, a 6 act story.
I agree man. There is huge pacing issue with Gears Judgement. The story felt like a slog to play.
My cousin and I are running through the series in chronological order and we just finished our run through of this game. Its definitely not the best, but the arcadey action is something I can get behind as we delve into the series again. Very excited.
Its so sad, i loved judgement, the combat felt super intense, the city locations felt gritty and full of enviormental storytelling, as well as offering various rememberable locations, like the island fort.
Let's take an American classic, 3 games strong... and give it to Europeans. Beautiful idea
Yep. Never should have happened
I love the video essay format of the last 2 videos and the random funny editing - please keep up the great work!
I love judgment, it has one of my favorite gears stories and still has the best version of the Markza.
It also did something I loved and made PVP Red vs. Blue... But for some stupid reason they removed locust from multiplayer... Like why, I should still be able to play as an Armored Kantus on either red or blue.
This game also has the a great art style and tone on par with GOW1/2's
im really surprised you have less then 5k subs. your vids are very well edited and it seems you spend a lot of time on them, i hope you get the audience you deserve.
I appreciate that! :)
I agree with you
He literally has only two videos, what did you expect? Give him time. And luck, because he's in an oversaturated market
Amazing work dude!! This was a really well thought out and entertaining video, I hope you get more views
It's nice to see a retrospective of a game from a saga I don't see many talk about nowadays. I really agree with all your points of how this game was designed and it's a shame since I think it really had potential if the developers actually tried to flesh out the universe and not just make another game for the sake of it or to follow the mechanic trends at the time. (Also considering that this game had less time to make in comparison of the others)
A point that I liked that you mentioned is how the characters felt more like props than people, a thing that I absolutely loved about this franchise is, yeah it has action, war and all that but it also was so human, all the characters felt like someone with a story, emotions and personality, not just soldier characters from a gorey game, and the dialogues during the cutscenes AND the in-between campaign during gameplay really made that aspect shine, something Judgment lacked since it focused more on the arcade part and didn't let the characters be more than that. The players couldn't catch a break from all the none stop battling, which rapidly became tedious, and didn't even get more than a few pieces of lore from the main squad with really short lines and exchanges (unless it was a cutscene).
Anyways Judgement had a messy construction, not so good changes but also had a few interesting ideas that I wish were develop in the other games: I really liked some of the new guns and the overrun mode is a cool concept to me
Really good video, well put together hopefully the algorithm will pick it up! One of the biggest issues i had with judgement was cog v cog in pvp and no dbno in pvp these 2 things alienated a lot of the original player base. Overrun was one of the greatest game modes ever made, i really hope it makes a return some day.
Thanks man! It was my first long form video so kinda rough but glad you enjoyed
By the way, when playing Judgment I discovered that you can chainsaw and beyonet charge Kantus (also works in GoW3).
Also courpsers can be chainsawed in the face, but only when their legs are out of the way.
Also also Therons wielding cleavers can block a chainsaw, which starts a duel.
I loved bayonet charging kantuses, its so cool lifting up their massive bodies and throwing them away like nothing
too bad you can't do it in gears3
No way you only have 2 videos! I was looking forward to watching more reviews! Love em
Already working on the third! It's going to be a treat! :D
@@Boofcans Amazing!! Looking forward to it
Judgement is a very flawed game but it had a lot going for it, overrun was a great mode that combined horde with beast but didn't help that you only had 4 base maps and I feel they didn't go far enough with either side. I imagine having a silverback to try and fight the corpser at the generator or the locust being able to get karn or a beserker. one of the things that bugs me the most about judgement are the weapons you get, if this games set in the past why are we getting weapons that weren't invented until after?
Yeahhh. They kinda did everything just for the hell of it it feels like with a sloppy execution.
the multiplayer is what killed judgement, that shit was not gears of war
The cleaver as a weapon was really buggy in 3 and Judgement. If any DBNOable entity goes down while swinging the cleaver they stand back up with no weapon, this can happen in Gears of War 3 but not nearly as often. It also leads to weird results when you beat a mission in the bugged state.
very entertaining commentary I caught myself laughing out loud a few times even watching a game I hated, you held my attention for an hour. Very impressive work here for a channel of your size I hope you are rewarded adequately for it!

37:25 Correction, it's called a silverback, and it's only got 1 minigun on it. The other side has a rocket launcher thing, you can press a button to turn it into turret mode to fire that side.
Man you are so right. I didn’t even realize I called it Razorback instead of Silverback.
I apologize for that goof! But yeah I remember always saving my money in Gears 3 to buy the silver back during horde mode. So fun man
@@AdolfHitler-wo1my I agree for most people, but i've had absolute CHAMPIONS in my horde games who keep that dang thing goin' til wave 50.
Great content, you gained a sub. The trilogy was something that is instilled in my head whether it be the story or 1v1ing my older brother since we didn’t have Xbox live during that time. All time classic trilogy
One thing I like about Judgement is Sophia is the only Onyx guard to actually do something useful and not die in the entire series (excluding the line about her in aftermath ). Keegan technically counts too but since he’s technically not in the cog anymore idk if he truly counts as onyx
Bro you’re commentary was extraordinary, I love the way you convey the story and the characters while also being funny while talking about gameplay :)
Thank you!!
Loved this video I think it was entertaining and funny but also a good dive into the story aspect of gears judgment. With the lack of Gears of war content on youtube compared to other games Id love to see more gears of war deep dives, Maybe into the online aspects of the game or even better other gears games id watch those in a heartbeat. I agree and I wish Paduk was at least a sub-main character in all the other gears.
Great video! I liked the story structure of Judgement, but still it is weird saying I may have enjoyed Aftermath more than I did most of the main story cause of some of those challenges or Horde missions. There were just too many changes they made that threw fans off in this game

The funniest thing about Loomis is that he seems to be a bad commander entirely because he is an incredibly skilled soldier. The end of the game shows us that he was entirely right about Karn. Using the missile is a complete waste, it doesn't even kill Karn. We expect Loomis is just an idiot politician because his orders amount to "shoot the giant monster until it dies you fucking cowards." Yet what ends up working in the end? Loomis picking up a gun and shooting the giant monster until it dies. He's still a dumbass. But he's a dumbass *because* he doesn't seem to realize that he and the soldiers of Kilo Squad are incredibly badass. He gives the order of "just kill the grubs idiot," because it literally always works for him so when it doesn't work for others he just says it louder and doesn't understand why other soldiers don't just win like he does. It's an utterly hilarious character.
Dude holy shit you’re right
I always had a soft spot for the little extra side story type things in Gears like the stealth dlc in 2, shadow of raam, and the extra campaign on this game is pretty good just like them. Sucks that the rest of it couldn’t match up.
Gears always had good story dlc lookin back at it
Had a buddy (Staff Sergeant X) in the military that would often tell me stories from his deployments. Once with his squad he was returning to base which was pretty much full of reserves and with no hesitation they started firing at his squad (miscommunication). Long story short no one was injured since those reserves couldn’t “shoot for shit”, met with the officer in charge and decked him straight in his mouth for making the order to fire. Was then demoted from Gunny to Staff Sergeant. Told me how the meeting went with his superiors and watching this video reminded me of this story.
You didn’t have to do the Declassified Ops though. You could of ignored those and not be bogged down by the bad challenges if you didn’t want to. They just added an alternative mix to the gameplay.
i havent played this since i was younger, and now I know why I only remember Paddock’s part of the story. Because its was the funnest chunk of the game 😂

Judgement was an upgrade in campaign when it came to immersion. The colors/lighting meshed so well! Idk what it was with saturation but everything just looked so good. It doesn't look as good in Gears 4 for some reason.

Judgment is actually my favorite in the series. It was a breath of fresh air incredible music, immersive, storytelling, and very fun game play. On top of the fact that co-op was extremely fun. This was the first game my girlfriend and me played through together and she loved it as well.
Yeah, I loved that it was basically just a different game from the Gear guys we usually play with. The missions and visuals were whats to be expected so yeah..same ol' same but still fun!

I don't think Marcus was sending Dom anywhere by that point of Gears of War 3 :(

The quick "I was against it sir" had me dying LOL mother fuckers do that shit in real life
This GOW was the first one I played so it holds a special place in my heart no matter how busted and different it was. I personally loved the game flaws and all
Remember installing a countdown app for it as I was pretty hyped, the pvp and no horde made me play 2 or 3 while the story was ... neat.
Gears Tactics brought a fair bit to the genre that was largely dominated by XCOM. It was a good entry in the genre as well as providing tidbits to Gears 4/5. That was nowhere near a "baffling misstep".
Great video, please keep making more :)
Thank you Kyle! Already working on the next hour long videos. More to come:)
I truely believe Judgment has some redeemable stuff:
- The campaign, overall amazing story telling and very intriguing
- Overrun, a hero based competitive that should return
- Art style/graphics still holds pretty damn well and its about 10 years old and it looks better than most AAA modern games
I understand the hate the game got, about this time Cliffy B left Epic Games and very few people worked on this game.
The tripwire crossbow I always used it like the torque bow I’m actually sad it never came back in later titles it was an actual fun weapon
Everything you said was exactly what I expected and I grew up on this game bro love your videos and this video allot brother thank you and keep up the awsome Master pieces of your own!!! Love you all stay true and loyal and morals etc 😊
Fun fact: there's no N in turret.
Judgements only issue was its online play which was a major disappointment after gears 3 which improved on what everyone complained about on 2. Judgement has one of my favorite campaigns from the gears series. It had a horror element to it that was a little different and what I thought was a good addition to the series.

I loved the game. I liked the experiments they did with the weapons and enemies. The story was okay but the environments we fought through were awesome.
Having the only female character weak a skin tight suit and having her whole arc based around sleeping around and being disrespected by superiors for being a woman is the most 2010s videogame thing ever

Judgement has a really cool and interesting story structure, not gonna lie.
I think the premise is solid but the execution was a slog for me to play-through
At this point, you might as well call judgement underrated, cause going back to it, it was actually pretty fun to play (and the games made by the coalition kinda suck)
Tyon What would you say is the biggest thing you dislike about Gears 4 and 5?
@@Boofcansthe things i disliked most in gears 4 were the new characters. only one i truly hated was kait, but del and JD weren't bad per say, but compared to marcus and the rest of delta squad, it was kind of eh, but it's mainly just kait. i also disliked the way they made customization (where you had to buy characters with a currency rather than just earn from via levels/progression), but apart from that gears 4 was alright
ON THE OTHER HAND HOWEVER, gears 5 was a hot dumpster fire, i feel like the campaign (story wise) took a dip from gears 4, certain parts of multiplayer sucked, escape was and is still boring as fuck, they would absolutely butcher anything fun or good in horde making it boring as well, the skill gap got way lower in that game, and a couple of other things that i can't think of off the top of my head. the ONLY redeeming qualities of gears 5 for me is the way wallbouncing feels in that game, the hivebuster DLC which was alright and not all that bad to play, and MAYBE the tour of duty. i kid you not, gears 4 had it's fair share of issues but gears 5 is actually dogshit compared to every other mainline game

I remember this happening to me. I love the genuine “this shii is crazy” lmaoo
Me and my best friend played the entire series, when judgement dropped it was about a month after finishing 3, we grabbed it and immediatly felt the games change from GOW to call of Gears third person challange extravaganza. We got to Sofia's story and genuinely just lost the will to play. Like two people who just sat and did the entire series so far on the hardest difficultly and we just never felt the game was fun to play vs the others.
This game made a lot of players forget about this franchise. I have a couple friends who came over one day and i was playing gears 5 and they said "ohh you playing gears" i didnt even know they knew what gears was. And legit all 4 of them said they stopped playing cuz of judgement.
Judgement made me drop the franchise
GoW was an amazing series, what kills me is that they should have added the options for a fucking helmet, you would think you want to protect your face… every main character has no helmet besides the grunts I also think why the carmines and cog soldiers were my favs for multiplayer
@Boofcans judgement hurt but I gave them a chance & 4 sealed the deal lmao. I also tried 5 and big dawg they ain't it
Noo poor Sophia 😭 she was done dirty an off screen death
She got bullied the entire game lol. They really did her dirty.
@@Boofcans 😂 fair..they were like men are talking stay out of it and the only thing we learn is she slept with a married man
I own judgement but I don’t think I ever finished it or it’s been so long I don’t remember cause I was like how come Sophia didn’t return like everyone else from the team
Then that extra ending and I’m like ohh that’s why
0:44 Oddly enough, i found GOW Tactics to be one of my personal favorites in the series. Sure its not the gears people really want, but its has to me atleast, a satisfying gameplay loop, an ok story and looks great with good characters and voice acting. Good video though, you're clearly both talented and passionate about the series, exicted for what you will create next :)
I share these sentiments. It was a surprisingly enjoyable game. As a XCOM2 junkie I loved the movement/cover system and the soldier skill customization. It is fine others think it wasn't to their taste, but it was good for what it was.
I actually really enjoyed your analysis of this video; though I do differ in my judgement of the game and also how I look at major titled-series like these. This is just an opinion, so feel free to let me know what your thoughts are.
I would look at this game, as a, "filler," (like filler episodes in animes and tv series). Instead of promoting a huge game, this gives a studio a chance to give more backstory while testing different methods of utility within their game. Can it be buggy, yeah, and can it be shit in some aspects, yeah; but, the same as the filler episodes, it still satisfies us in a way that gives us more connection to the characters of the story.
I barely remember playing this game; but, just watching your video actually made me remember that I really did appreciate the storyline for however horrid, at times, the gameplay could be. Thanks for reading and keep it up, I do really love the video!
I've always really liked Judgement. The length is perfect I think, and its just a fun game.
This doesnt sound like a bad campaing at all just mid. But I gotta ask, how tf did Karn survive that giant missile???
Bro i still don’t know. They did all of that just end up killing him with Guns 💀💀
He was just built dodge tough
Would love to see you go through all the GOW games, this was swift and to the point. More memes though, the memes are what makes these videos worth it
Judgment actually had some decent features like weapon switching during a roadie run... and assigning grenades to a button... it saves precious time... Your mag might be empty and you need done kinda offense to get you thru a reload
Just played it for the first time and finished it tonight.
I loved how angry the locust were. They were consistently up your ass.
A good change of pace from the series.
A couple of neat quality of life changes I.E. dedicated grenade button were very fun to adjust to.
It was just fun to play. I liked the skirmish to skirmish direction and the optional "buffs" for the encounters were extremely annoying and extremely inticing at times.
A decent one off I'm happy to have experienced.
My only complaint is that baird and Cole just seemed neutered personality wise...but you gotta try and remember the timeline this game occurs in.
I hated the control scheme
@@alexcastillo4741 it took a little readjusting for sure. But I was a massive fan of the dedicated LB grenade button. Awesome to be able to jusy quick chuck a grenade right out in front of you
Judgment slaps
Albert wesker speaks his truth
I played trough all of them with a friend recently. And we had most fun with this one, not that its the best.. its not, but it was the most fun. I think its presentation needed some fixes here and there, but the game as a palet cleanser between the main entries is a fun game.
After having seen some of the Comics, I think I might have an idea as to where Sofia was taken after being Kidnapped, given when Prescott became the Chairman of the Cog, 10 months into the Locust War, things called Birthing Creches, essentially Human Farms made by the COG to repopulate Sera after everything was said and done. But due to the Fortification act by prescott, the only women who weren't allowed in these places were Women who were infirtile, as they were then sent into direct combat duty (unless they worked backline jobs kind of similiar to Women during WW2). So in Summary, as grim as it sounds, it wouldn't surprise me if Sofia was rounded up into one of these places, which honestly really hammers home just how like, dark the whole setting is of Gears for me.
