I doubt it will ever fail, but if it does, don't throw it. All those lights have warranty, you just send it in. I collect flashlights and I have amassed 13 streamlights over the years including an old incandescent one from the early 2000's that still works. The rubber button covers are the most common fail point (after years) and you can send it in for that or just buy the replacement kit. they are made to be serviced.

i use stream light exclusively when i’m working on cars and i have put both of mine through the ringer and they still keep going. not only are they tough but stream lights warranty is amazing.
I still have my streamlight stinger that I got when I first started in law enforcement. It’s still going strong over 20 years later. Of course I’ve had to replace the battery a few times. But not as often as you’d think.
I love mine lol. I'm not going to say go drop it but I've dropped mine multiple times and still keeps working. Best feature I like is if I'm stuck in a tank I and the battery dies I just got to keep pushing the button ever few sec. Till I find the exit😂😂
To be honest, I had one a few years ago, because it seems all American law enforcement use them? And if you think they are expensive in the USA you should try buying one here in the UK? Well I was into torches/ Flashlight s so I as said got one and it was basically s*** ! OK I may have been unlucky but after the mission of sending it back to the seller I got a replacement about two months later and after about six months that one failed so I won't be getting any more Streamlight products! I do have SL20x and that's been good but that's old school halogen. I do hope you get good service from yours!

Snap-on charges $300 for that Streamlight HL with piggyback charger and two batteries with no DS. However, dealer handles the lifetime warranty which covers everything but the battery. Note dealer finances tools and flashlights and price reflects this. Any warranty issue, I just hand it back to him and he sends it off for replacement parts or repairs. Yeah it’s worth it, but they do break -mainly the switch goes out. Best flashlight you can buy. Streamlight TwinTask is the best headlamp you can buy. They also have excellent pocket penlights for $24 to $30. Streamlight also makes the best penlight UV light. Unlike others which you must wear those yellow enhancing glasses, the little Streamlight UV penlight works without the yellow glasses. It shows the proper wavelength for UV leak detection where others fail. Well worth what you paid for that flashlight. The Dual Switch version would be good, in case one switch fails you could still use the flashlight until you can get it repaired. Hell at that price buy two maybe three Streamlights! All those Amazon cheap flashlights are garbage. That junk might burn the house down 😳

Just like a Swiss army knife, you can send them in for a refurbish. Usually costs $10-20 shipping.

STREAMLIGHTs warrantee is amazing I have sent in absolutely the most beet up broken lights. If they can’t fix it they will send you a new one.
