One holster that works well with the Strion series is the Surefire V70. The Strion fits perfectly in it bezel-up, and the non-HPL models can also go bezel-down. It doesn’t sit as deep bezel-down as a Surefire, but it still stays pretty secure for those moments when you are deploying the light, putting it down, and grabbing it again. Because of the design of the holder, the HPL also doesn’t dig in my side as much if I want to carry that instead of the standard version (such as searching for a suspect in a large wooded area).

Thank you very much for your vid. Very helpful. 👍Anyone in LE has been through progression of wasted money trying to put together the perfect gear set up. 🤦‍♂

I have the strion ds HPL and I can honestly say I had the same reaction as you. It’s held up great in the oilfield at almost daily use

Just my lil two cents... I actually use the Zero9 holster for duty use. It's not bad, only issue is that you have to use it with the head facing up and it sits hight into the torso. For being such an odd shaped light the Zero9 suffices...as mentioned, the Stinger 2020 is absolutely amazing and I hope in the near future there's more carrying options available!

I recently decided to mount my flashlight on my vest. My stinger was too big with everything else I have on my vest so I decided to upgrade to the strion. Also my buddy got the streamlight stinger 2020 but he had to buy a custom holder

Do uniform pants no longer have sap pockets? I carried an old Streamlight SL20 for most of my 25 years on duty. It was a great tool.

You can get the Strion DS serviced by streamlight, should be covered under their warranty… I have a sl20x years ago, my nephew left it on and burned a hole through the lens and burned the table top… streamlight fixed the light…

Video was awesome I’m highly considering upgrading to the stinger 2020. The only thing holding me back is finding a compatible holder for my duty belt

@@juuljitsu it’s not perfect but when you can’t find a good holder the nite ize universal works in a pinch. It holds the light perfectly, definitely needs a little stretching to allow it to be reholdered in a rush, but works well from AA size lights to C/D size. I use it for my Sofirn C8G and my 4D mag, and it does the job, but isn’t an ideal solution

@@christophercole7015 I appreciate the advice! I’ll look into it while I wait for a holster actually made for it. (If it ever happens)

Why are these the ultimate duty lights? They are way worse than so many flashlights out there. For $33 you can get a Sofirn SP35T dual switch’s that won’t wear, 3800 lumen farther throw, non proprietary batteries so you can bump up the stock one to a more powerful higher Amp if you want. And it’s much smaller than both those. I will never understand why people use steam lights. They’re trash for the price.
