I've been a police officer for 16 years and have used Streamlight 26 years. As often as I've dropped these lights, I've only had to replace batteries and 2 bulbs on them. Thanks for this video! The manufacturer's instructions missed a step.
When I first heard about Streamlight, I never cared or thought much of them other than a basic light....BUT when I saw other careless people who actually owned that brand of light (light left submerged almost boiling hot transmission fluid while on for the whole lunch break) I realized how durable and reliable they are. I was one of those who wanted the sun for a flashlight but thx to Streamlight I realized its not always about the lumen war. Its great quality that will last yrs to come along with their great customer service. I now own 4 stingers: TWO HLs and TWO 2020s.
I’ve worked as an aircraft mechanic so far for 4 years. I am very picky about my tools and don’t have time to fight with them. I have the stream light stylus pro, stinger HL Led, and the micro rechargeable one. They have never let me down. I’ve used them in snow, rain, covered in turbo oil, hydro fluid, Lav fluid, brake clean, solvent, 1300L, alcohol, and more. I am a big fan of these lights and would definitely buy them again.
The Stinger LED was the first pro flashlight I bought as a mechanic, and I really liked it. The problem was that after 2 or 3 years of almost daily use, the switch went bad, and when I sent it back to Streamlight for repair, the new switch assembly had electrical bouncing issues because it would go from OFF to STROBE mode, and I couldn't get it to turn on in solid beam mode 90%+ of the time. I got so frustrated after shipping it to them twice with the same result, that I eventually bought Maglite 150LRX (which is significantly brighter btw, and Made in the USA). I'm watching this video to hopefully revive my Stinger, and get the most out of the $125 I spent for it.
Thanks for the helpful vid bro. Dude these suckers take a beating and keep going. I use them at work all the time; we have three of them to split between 6 guys (a bunch of idiots that don’t don’t take care of anything worth a crap) and we still have them after at least 5 years of constant 24/7 use. True quality.
I use it every day I work on a machine shop rebuilding engines and I crack check the blocks so I use the flashlight to look inside everyone that needs one here in the shop has one.
I thought this would help walk me through how to fix the issue with a Polystinger. My PolyStinger has the same bulb but it has a metal housing for the bulb. Guess my only option is to use a soldiering iron to put the positive and negative back on the bulb.
I use one when I'm out at night in the dark and they hold up pretty good. I'm always knocking out a window with it and even used it to plumb beat off a deadbolt lock to a garage I needed in but I broke my switch due to that so here I am. ( Still made out pretty good that night even with breaking my light switch) I hear they're expensive but I think you should buy one for sure. Keep it out in your garage to have.
I’ve had Stinger DS’ for probably 15 yrs. One is in op, so timely here. I can light up the forest out to 200yds with this light and I mean light it up. Saw a cub Mtn lion in the back yd a couple nights ago. Didn’t see Mama, but am sure she saw me. Let them be light…and there was Streamlight!
Streamlight's which I've used going back to the tool vendor pen lights, which weren't THAT great, have otherwise NEVER let me down and abused the hell out of them! Was an auto tech myself, and funny enough, the original Streamlight stinger I bought in like 2015, (which always works, as well as its NiCd batteries still) which has been used/abused so much, button is fine. My more recent Stinger HL, purchased bout year ago, button cover tore.. other than that, NEVER had issues with any of my 5 Streamlight's! Excluding the pen one's...
Abused is an understatement. Lol. I've noticed my button falls apart if it exposed to trans fluid for too long. But by far the best flashlight I've ever bought.
I do love Streamlight but my only thing is the inconsistency of the body switch latch point even within the same model lights. I have 2 Stinger DS HL and one has a nice switch with a nice latch point, and the other one you have to mash the switch completely down into the body to get it to click. Just feel like those lights are gonna need the rubber replaced way sooner than those with a taller latch point. The tail switches seem to be pretty consistent.
Mine is on the charger every night. If you have the HL the batteries usually last between 4-6 hours. Depending on age the batteries could be weak. Should definitely get more than 2 hours out of it.
So you could have said “ hey I know your video is 3 YEARS old. The led kit link isn’t working”. Amazon doesn’t currently carry the led kit so I replaced the link with another site. I have 0 way of checking every link all the time to see if something has changed. But it’s fixed and sorry for the inconvenience 👍

Thank you!! And I'm glad it was useful. I used to be a reserve deputy in my county and loved my streamlight!!

They’ve got to be the best flashlight on the planet hands-down

I had the same problem with mine and it end up being the battery defective inside. got new battery and now it works perfectly.
Been a diesel mechanic for over 20 years and have used a Streamlight for most of it. Love it!

I live out in the country with lots of critters, and I have a streamlight and use it on a daily basis.love it!

Well thanks just upgraded a 10$ dim streamlight. To a bright 70 plus streamlight

I would agree. I’ve had several different ones and they all are slightly different. Haven’t had one that I’ve had to smash…yet.

How About the tail capI have a duel switch which is the button up front and the tail cap . How to replace rubber on tail cap
Can you replace the glass on the hl?
Not 100% sure. When I got the parts I got the gist that the lense came with the whole head. I didn't mess with it to see if it was removable.
How long do you have to charge it for??? Mines only last 2hours off use....
