    I remember when I got my 300 pound weights and bar for 100 bucks back in the day. Crazy how they're priced now.

    Not many gyms here in Star, other than the Anytime Fitness, but agreed, working out in the garage when you have kids is way more convenient.

      Looks like there are a couple like "The Gym", TruHiit fitness which isn't really a gym and Anytime Fitness. I think the future of exercise will be at home with all the technology advancements that we are seeing in companies like Pelaton and Tonal.

    You can buy sleeves off Amazon to convert the one inch bar to 2 inches for your pull-ups

    my stall mats are 10 years old, bought 1 in sept , and bought one last week , YOU will love them. I've dropped 1,000's of dumbbrells on them over the years ( 1-150lbers ) and now concrete for the last 3 months ( 85 lb bumper plates ) USED O plates in CT $1.50-$2.00 a lb for the last 3 years a few years from now YOU will have that 24 sq ft or so into 40 .. ENJOY IT ! . My garage gym will be 29 years old in July

    How do you feel about a gym in the garage. Does it get cold in the winter. Do you heat it?

    • @ActiveDad
      @ActiveDad  Год назад

      Yea, most mornings are 20-30 degrees. We have a small space heater that doesn’t really help. But it’s not that bad when you you wear thermals, a jacket, and a beanie. It’s better than summer, right now I can’t even work out of the afternoon because it’s way too hot

    What a dream home gym! It looks awesome!
    For the half rack, do you bolt it down to something ? I’m afraid it will tip over during pull ups.

      No I didn’t. It definitely won’t move with all the weights supporting the rack

      Of course. I've never heard of someone falling through the ceiling because of lifting on second floor

    Great video . I too have a 1yr old and just bought the fitness gear half rack. It comes next week. I’m wondering if you have found a landmine for the barbell. I found a pulley system for lats and triceps that will work also. So look for 3x3 attachments? Haha got the bench also.

    • @ActiveDad
      @ActiveDad  2 года назад +1

      Not familiar with a landmine. I never ended up going with a 3x3 dip station mainly because I can get by with the dip station included. However I will say that I’m not happy with the distance I between the dip bars or the diameter of the bars either. I did buy some grips to widen the diameter but they slip around and just don’t do the job. The rogue station is just too much for me to justify honestly. But have been happy with everything else about the setup we got from fitness gear.

      @@ActiveDad thanks for the reply. So where does that dip bar attach so you are able to do dips?

    • @ActiveDad
      @ActiveDad  2 года назад

      @@875daily the attachments for the bar bell double as attachments for the dip station. So the pull up bar also doubles as the dip station when in a lower level
