  • Want to know what's the best buy for your home gym. I tell you all about in this Part 1 of more series to come. Product links below.
    Note - Lol, yes I'm aware that I did not list the exercise in order. I said reverse bicep curl just rattling off some examples, but performed a triceps press first and reverse curl after. Can I get a pass!

    You can also bring down that pull up bar in its entirety by removing the pins and bringing the bar down to a good level and then putting in he pins again.

      @yamafanboythank you. I didn’t know that. I guess it makes sense cause I have much shorter bars on the back

    I love my half rack. I marked the different numbers for different exercises which helps so much. I like your idea for the resistance bands. I never thought about that. Great review

      Thank you good Sir. This is part 1 of a 3 part series. I will go in descending order of complexity of the equipment, other equipment required and price. This is the most expensive of the 3 options that will be posted coming in the new year.

    Great review! Just purchased this one over the Ethos folding rack that I've been looking at for the past few weeks. I'm glad it also comes with the plate storage...thats one less piece of equipment I'll have to buy🙌🏽

    Really appreciate the breakdown. Planning on picking up this half rack soon for setup in garage. Wasn’t sure what I needed but wanted versatility. Do you think putting pulley system in is worth effort or stick with tension bands?

    • @ThatGuyHealth
      @ThatGuyHealth  3 года назад

      Good day. Thanks for the view and comment. Most of all being a subscriber. In my opinion, I wouldn’t waste my time with a pulley system setup. I utilize resistance bands just fine when needed.

    Great video! I hope someone from Dicks Sporting Goods has seen this and gives you some sponsorship! I'm headed to pick up the ETHOS folding wall rack, or the ETHOS 1.0 full rack. But after seeing this review, I may have to go Fitness Gear. Just cancelled my gym membership after 14 years and ready to turn that pole barn corner into my new at home workstation. I want something with expand-ability options. What about tricep press down attachments? Other than bands, dips and bench press...how do you recommend to best hit the tri's with this rack? Thanks in advance!

    • @ThatGuyHealth
      @ThatGuyHealth  4 года назад

      Man, thanks for the compliment and view. Most of all thanks for being a subscriber. The new fitness gear , I believe comes with a dip bar attachment. The version I have did not at the time. You should have that option , unless they have made revisions. I still have the rack and its still holding strong. Thanks for supporting the channel.

    If the fitness gear bench had a preacher curl attachment and a leg extension it would be a complete gym.

    • @ThatGuyHealth
      @ThatGuyHealth  3 года назад

      I honestly can’t say so. I haven’t really ever seen a great UB combo system with all that on that was actually great or had good alignment for ROM.

    • @cesarborunda5224
      @cesarborunda5224 2 года назад

      U can just use your bench for that preacher curl all u need is dumbbells but yeah there would be no leg extensions:/

    Nice review! A couple of questions:
    1) where can I buy those bands to have the same setup?
    2) does the rack wobble when benching or squatting 250-300 lbs?
    Thanks again

    • @ThatGuyHealth
      @ThatGuyHealth  4 месяца назад

      Thanks and I know this response is late. Been battling client training with content creation.
      Among other things.
      1) The band setup was purchased from a local equipment warehouse.
      2) The rack barely wobbles. Now if you rack it violently horizontal and it’s not bolted or have equivalent weight plates on the post it will move a bit.

    Any good budget options for a half rack?

    • @ThatGuyHealth
      @ThatGuyHealth  3 года назад +1

      Good day. Thanks for the view and being a subscriber. As for budget options, it’s rough right now with the home gym market taking off after COVID. Here’s a couple of ideas. Check your local smaller gyms that may be closing, play it again sports or a fitness equipment wholesaler. Dicks sports has a good one for roughly $400-$500, which is a decent price. Availability of stock is the rough part though. Good hunting!

    Does this half rack have a pulldown attachment?

    • @ThatGuyHealth
      @ThatGuyHealth  3 года назад

      Good day. By the way thank you for the view and being a subscriber. As to this question in this half rack, it does not have a pulldown attachment. I have utilized resistance bands attached to the pull up area to do my pulled down movements, such as tricep press lat pull downs and other.

    I have gymnast rings too. Would I tip over the half rack 🤣 with my weighted vest. And the rings etc weighted pullup. I’m not claiming to be a big dud it’s just a random fear haha. Many thanks.

      Spartan_ 4154 😆 Well..... I could see how that would cause a half rack phobia. I will say, not all racks are created equal. I’ve had as much as 135lb additional weight attached to my belt while performing some pull-ups and no tipping, while utilizing this rack. Thanks a lot for the humor, contribution and support the channel as a subscriber.

      That Guy Health thank you for the fast response. You seem like a humble guy and you don’t find that a lot on RUclips anymore. Just to be clear I have the same rack as you but it’s blue not orange and you’re sure I won’t rip over the rack, even if it’s not bolted. 🤣 other wise thanks for the content.

    Did this man just refer to triceps extensions as "reverse bicep curls"??

    • @ThatGuyHealth
      @ThatGuyHealth  3 года назад +2

      Thanks for being engaged and being a subscriber. I in deed rattled off exercises and misspoke while showing an example of a tricep movement and verbally saying bicep curl. I’m aware of the difference between the two and take full responsibility for my mistake in continuity of information.
