Cant imagine it’s a decision most companies want to make but we live in strange times. Rep is def out innovating Rogue lately but it’s rather easy to get stuff from Rogue. During my purchase last year I ended up going with Rogue simply because I could not complete my build the way I wanted with Rep. • @GlucksGym
      @GlucksGym  Год назад +3

      Rep recently switched the PR 4000 to have hole spacing that is the same as the 5000 (or Rogue Monster, etc), meaning every 2" up the side of the rack vs the old system where it was ever 6". So you can now get westside and the equal hole spacing. There are still other differences between the racks and attachments though. For example the leg rollers on a 5/8" require a mount /brace and the Ares on the 4000 has the adjustment pin in the back. The list goes on but most differences are fairly subtle between Reps options.

    Bottom line is Rogue simply charges entirely too much money for their stuff and REP offers fair pricing for their stuff.
    If the loyal Rogue supporters ever decided they were gonna stop overpaying for home gym equipment just to have a "R" on it then Rogue would have to get their pricing in line with the market or get out of the home gym business and work commercial setttings like Sorinex does.

    I have to go with REP
    I might be wrong but I think REP is equal in quality to Rogue.
    Yeah Rogue has a few more bells and whistles on some items but across the board, I believe they are equal.
    The only difference to me is Rogue's prices are 15%-30% higher than REP's

    • @GlucksGym
      @GlucksGym  Год назад

      I'd still give Rogue the nod in quality overall. Rep has come a long way and their new attachments are much improved (Ares for example) but things like J cups, pull-up bars, etc Rogue has a lead on. I do think in a few years Rep will be even closer though.

      I'm going with what U say, U know better than me on such matters but man it's hard for me to tell a difference taking in consideration I have only compared a few items. I still like REP better because Rogue IMO, price gouges.
      When I see a price tag to my door of over $4,000 for a
      lat pulldown/low row, well does it sing or dance.
      It's not the money, it's the principle. Rogue gouges the public because they know people want that "R" on their equipment and to me that's wrong and anyway, I can get BOS's for half that and it's sharp too.
      Heck U can buy an entire cable selectorized system from REP (Ares, Athena) for less than Rogue charges for a lat pulldown. U got to admit that is crazy!!
      Take Care, Man

      I'll see a lot of Rep's new stuff at the Arnold (and we'll make a video) so I think that gap is closing and going to close even more still. In a year this might be a completely different conversation. I think the quality we get from Rep is perfectly fine for 99.9% of people and Rogue pushes into that commercial quality at times but I agree, it can come with a heavy price tag.

      It's not a discount code, Rep doesn't give those. It's just a link that gives us credit for your purchase. You can find our general Rep link on our website or in the videos description.

    The only reason I chose Rep is the rack width. I had a 49" wide rack for a while and got rid of it. While the width was an annoyance when it came to un-racking and re-racking a squat, the biggest issue was hitting the safeties when doing a heavy squat. This was even further compounded when I used my Transformer bar.

      @GlucksGym  Год назад

      Their innovation and expansion in the last year or so (and it looks like this year as well) is what pushes me in their direction. I'm not sure I'm ready to concede the quality argument quite yet but we'll see how this new batch of updates goes.

      The PR-4000 adding equally spaced holes on the sides of the uprights is a welcome recent addition but they'll all have the same amount of 2" spaced holes on the sides. There are other touches and differences between the lines but I think the 4000 is an exceptional rack and shouldn't be overlooked.

    I have a 15 year old Powertec Rack and bench. I have been tempted to replace it with Rogue several times, but then again...why should I? I can do everything I want to do with my old rack, so it's essentially just about wanting to buy new stuff instead of training hard(er). Nobody really "needs" a 3x3 Rack...for what? A 200lbs benchpress or 300lbs squat, of course with calibrated, camouflaged plates and heavy duty J-cups? That's somehow ridiculous. Focus on training, guys, not on knurling, uprights-diameter or 9657 unneccessary accessoires. Money can't buy muscles, so can't uprights.

    Ok. I have been thinking about this. Tell me if I’m crazy. I want to build a REP monster cave. So this is my plan. Buy a 30 inch PR5000 and a 16inch storage plus 16 inch rack with dual Athena. So what I would do is connect the 30 inch rack to half of the 16/16 rack with Athena on each side. (I would use 30’ Rogue crossmembers so I would be able to use the storage option rogue has, and as you mentioned the crossmember length varied slightly between the brands). Is this crazy? What do you think?

Like I’m not gona buy a whole new rack even though I really want the integrated parts the Athena and Aries offer when I have a rogue already and vice versa I think they both have great products and the attachments vary from one to the other but I think Frankensteining a mix from different gives the consumer best bang for buck or just do what Gluck said and buy both 😂😂😂

    ROGUE customer service and their handling times are fucking garbage. REP had the PR5000 shipped out, warrantied the pull up bar and had the replacement show up on my doorstep before ROGUE had even had the order processed. 2 weeks passed and all ROGUE could offer me was "Your order has been processed and is in que, you will receive an email from our shipping department when it leaves." It sucked because ROGUE was the only place that sold the Concept2 RowErg at a decent price but they can pound sand I'll pay $500 more and get it right from the manufacturer. Awful customer service deserves to be the end of a company. REP every single time guys, every single damn time.
