It would be good to specify the distance for each stop block from the edge of the board, and the corresponding angle it is expected to create. That is important but we got one (1.5" for 25 degree angle ... what about the rest?). Thanks too for all the info in the video.
Great to see you starting more long form videos! Re: keeping the angle stop blocks square while screwing them in, you (or anyone building this) might try tacking them down with thin CA glue and activator instead of (or prior to) clamping. A pin nailer might also work for this. While square might not matter for plane irons, it will come into play with smaller chisels if you don't use the same spot to reference every time.
Excellent tutorial on the sharpening jig. Like you, I’ve bought a lot of sharpening gizmos over the years, and watched a lot of tutorials on the subject. Have the Veritas Mk2 honing guide, along with my original, decades old Eclipse and the more recent Veritas, Eclipse style guide. The Mk2 lives in a drawer. Too much of a fidget to setup, and the tool has a tendency to shift slightly, giving uneven results. Retail regret on steroids! Anyhoo, with the new, much cheaper Veritas, everything works just as it should. The addition of the angle setting jig and a shim should make sharpening less of a grind, so to speak. Thanks for sharing!
Love the highly scientific term "Wee waw". Thanks for sharing this informative video. Sharpening for relatively new woodworkers like me can be intimidating, and it need not be with a jig like this.
Good tutorial. It would at least have added entertainment value if you had shown how you place the honing guide and make adjustment on it to get the chosen angle. I suppose that is obvious with tool in hand, but some of us are all new to this.
Can you explain how you calculate the distance from the edge for the individual angle stop blocks. Also which number grit do you use for your 3 stones.? THANKS. Terry in England.
He actually gives measurements, but, the two he shows are for two 'brands' of honing guide. I guess we do the 1 1/2 inch etc measurements if you don't have an "Eclipse Honing guide"?
When the video hits 1,000 views I’ll choose a winner 🙌
Just curious if you have already chosen a winner for this. Thanks!
@@trailmixking Not yet! I was getting ready to. Just recently passed 1,000 views.

Good call on the CA glue!
Amazing and informative. I am interested in buying a jig. I am getting old and am limiting the use of power tools. Thought I would ask.
Thank you
Very good presentation of useful information. Thanks for posting.

Good video. Thx!

Hello, if the distant is 1 1/2 inch for 25 degree, what are the others measurements and degrees, Tks.

Thank you@@LDU2U I actually now use an angle gauge on top of blades or chisels and adjust the jig.
this is how to make the jig🤣✌️👍
You should sell these!
