Nope. Best moment ever in WCW was when Sting won his first title vs Ric Flair at The Great American Bash in Baltimore 1990. One of the absolute highlights of my childhood and an awesome time to be an 8 year old. That match was wonderfully set up and still stands as one of Jim Ross's best calls of a match ever.

This list makes me realize that you could probably make a top ten of the worst things Kevin Nash has done in wrestling. As much as I was a fan of his as a kid, I have to admit he was involved in a lot of infamous moments.
Except the WWE is making money. Something WCW (outside of 96-98 and even that can be chalked up to funny accounting) could never do. The moment the WWE stops making money, that should start to make Stamford notice, but until then...
Fun fact: the David Arquette reign happened because Tony Schiavone once said, as a joke, "you know what could promote the movie? Putting the belt on Arquette!", and Russo heard him. This, the concept of TNA Lockdown and Katie Vick all prove one thing: you never, ever tell jokes like this to a promoter/head of booking. They might take you seriously.
Hogan/Warrior 2 was a 7 star classic. One of the most creative bookings they have done next to putting the title on Arquette. Putting the title on Arquette was PURE booking GENIUS of which was VERY underrated. It was a PERFECT way to tie in to Ready to Rumble featuring WCW. It was an opportunity to promote WCW.
The fingerpoke of doom episode is likely the most popular wcw episide ever, it comes up so many times, look at the star power though in that ring, i liked the luger heel turn, another big surprise after one surprise.
10:21 I will never understand all the hatred over the *cattle prod* incident... I always thought it was a good way to give *Goldberg* his first loss and not to mention it's a pretty wild _heel_ tactic.
Running the finger poke of doom against Mick Foley/Mankind winning WWF title that night was so bad. WCW never got as high 5.0 rating other then when Raw was preempted.
Bit of a negative list for you, Simon. Have to agree, though, David Arquette _is_ an awesome dude for donating all his pay to the families of deceased or injured wrestlers. He even made a return to wrestling last year and has made an effort to be taken seriously (possibly to make up for WCW debacle), although he says he's done with deathmatches after getting a severe cut on the neck and needing surgery from a match against Nick Gage at LA Confidential. Mad respect to the guy.
Honorable Mention list: 22 title changes in 26 weeks under Vince Russo The Shockmaster Pushing out Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, and Chris Jericho Making Jeff Jarrett the champion Blading at nearly every match in Starrcade 1985 Trying to sell out the Louisiana Superdome against Wrestlemania during a recession and only selling 5,000 out of 60,000 potential tickets Guaranteed contract money for being terrible Jim Herd and the 1988-1990 Creative control Jay Leno as a main event wrestler Letting wrestlers skip Thunder appearances
How I book Main event: Sting drops from ceiling, no sells everything Hogan throws at him, he hits numerous stinger splashes, scorpion death drip, and then the leg lock and Hogan submits, Nash and Hall turn on Hogan and Hogan gets to have his redemption arc... Instead they did exact opposite
I really liked the DoD lol. I remember when they showed the master screaming: sullivaaaaannn! lol. He looked like a power rangers villain. And when the brought the Yeti! lol
...the Goldberg/Nash/Steiner triple threat match at New Blood Rising was not the main event nor was it for the WCW Championship. It was the semi-main event and it was to determine the number one contender for the WCW Championship. The WCW Championship main event of New Blood Rising was a singles match between Booker T and Jeff Jarrett. Please do your research, WhatCulture.
Simon should do a new list like this featuring Vince McMahon booking decisions from the last 3 years. Shane winning “Best in the World”, Shane beating Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar squashing Braun Strowman to win the title back, Sasha Banks losing all her Women’s title defences, WWE completely burying the Women’s Tag Team titles after barely a month, Calling up NXT talents only to bury them or not even use them, Kane squashing Finn Bálor on Raw, Roman Reigns megapush, Goldberg vs Undertaker, everything associated with Saudi Arabia, etc, etc. I think you would have more material for WWE from the last couple years than all of WCW.
a common mistake people make is assuming wcw went out of business because of bad matches and insipid angles. it was all down to money and time warner hated wrestling. if an unsatisfying product REALLY killed companies WWE would not be #1 right now or even still on the air.
When the finger poke of doom happened I quit watching wcw and I was in the nosebleed section at starcade and said this is good cause I was all about Wolfpack
You list comes from some sort of Fairy tale dream that was shattered as a child. You forget everyone for the most part wanted NWO to win. Hulk Hogan beating sting was amazing and then how Nash dropped with one finger was genius. As an adult I can appreciate it even more so now. Your list deserves to be number one on the list. Hahah

Except the WWE is making money. Something WCW (outside of 96-98 and even that can be chalked up to funny accounting) could never do. The moment the WWE stops making money, that should start to make Stamford notice, but until then...
@@PYLrulz1984 Very true. However, the WWE product itself is abysmal.
Except WWE isn't losing millions like WCW was
#10: Vince Russo

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd #1!:
Vince Russo
kyle mitchell you forgot Vince Russo in the (dis)honorable mentions
@@Docwilson91 you're right! I did
3:06 I could have sworn he called him Robby Piper
He did!!
Hogan, Nash and Russo lol, they are just poison
I'm also one of the few people that liked the _Finger Poke of Doom_ 😂😂😂
It was a total NWO thing to do.. I don't understand the despise.
Same
Fun fact: the David Arquette reign happened because Tony Schiavone once said, as a joke, "you know what could promote the movie? Putting the belt on Arquette!", and Russo heard him.
This, the concept of TNA Lockdown and Katie Vick all prove one thing: you never, ever tell jokes like this to a promoter/head of booking. They might take you seriously.
Sting vs Hogan next Saudi Arabia show, book it Vince
Oh please,Hogan looks like shitt now,and sting has nothing to gain by beating that old fart.
Robert Zajkowski facts
Noooooo
What, no Shock Master? I am shocked!
It's only a top ten. How much WCW awfulness do you want to watch?
Shock master was one of those it's so bad it's great moment
Shockmaster also wasn't as catastrophic for the company. Comparatively it was pretty inconsequential.
WWE basically did do that, except instead of Iron Man they used Black Adam
I can't blame David for his run. Of all guest to ever do things, he is the only person to keep doing this. Well ICP.... But that's it.
FlyBoyEnterprises lame
FlyBoyEnterprises - April 1st was over two months ago.
Sarcasm
A top 10 cannot cover all the horrendous things that happened to wcw.
Bet you could do a top 10 or even top 20 just for what happened in 2000.
The fingerpoke of doom episode is likely the most popular wcw episide ever, it comes up so many times, look at the star power though in that ring, i liked the luger heel turn, another big surprise after one surprise.
Wrong! The Yet-ay is always worth revisiting.
Hogan vs warrior 2 was absolute crap nothing compared to wrestlemania 6
10:21 I will never understand all the hatred over the *cattle prod* incident...
I always thought it was a good way to give *Goldberg* his first loss and not to mention it's a pretty wild _heel_ tactic.
c0pyimitati0n me too
Running the finger poke of doom against Mick Foley/Mankind winning WWF title that night was so bad. WCW never got as high 5.0 rating other then when Raw was preempted.
I don’t think you know how the Vince McMahon Title win went according to these words
Honorable Mention list:
22 title changes in 26 weeks under Vince Russo
The Shockmaster
Pushing out Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, and Chris Jericho
Making Jeff Jarrett the champion
Blading at nearly every match in Starrcade 1985
Trying to sell out the Louisiana Superdome against Wrestlemania during a recession and only selling 5,000 out of 60,000 potential tickets
Guaranteed contract money for being terrible
Jim Herd and the 1988-1990 Creative control
Jay Leno as a main event wrestler
Letting wrestlers skip Thunder appearances
Love the 80's theme guys
12:19 LMAO this is the most Lex Luger still shot of Lex Luger I have ever seen.
LOL...i can't unsee that now...thanks for pointing that one out
Wait wait wait wait... wait....
Simon used to have hair!?
some people dare say current wwe is like the old wcw. they clearly have forgotten how bad it was.
What if WWE brings back WCW or ECW in future again ?
What type of matches we will get to see just imagine?
It won't.
ECW would probably just be boring if Vince runs it, if he let's Triple H book it like he does with NXT it will be quite enjoyable.
We saw what happened when Vince brought back WCW and ECW. It sucked hard...
Goldberg vs Sting, WCW Saudi Show 2022. Book it.
@@BulletClub444Life but now many new wrestler came , generation has change now
Don't get me wrong
....so Simon has hair when WCW was a thing??? Wow that to me is mind blowing
2019 WWE is worst than 2000 WCW
Sad, but true, this company is going down and fast
Aew will rise up ,WWE will fall down and down
I have to agree :( I wish I could say you were wrong though
WCW was ineptitude on top of ineptitude. WWE and vince goes out of their way to make to damn sense and they do it 5 hours a week.
Vinicius Caldas Spot on. At least WCW was an entertaining sort of awful in 2000.
How I book
Main event: Sting drops from ceiling, no sells everything Hogan throws at him, he hits numerous stinger splashes, scorpion death drip, and then the leg lock and Hogan submits, Nash and Hall turn on Hogan and Hogan gets to have his redemption arc...
Instead they did exact opposite
Because the odds Terry Bollea would sign off on that are -500 percent.
The Dungeon of Doom should not be on this list. Zodiac is the Daniel Bryan is his day. 🤣
I really liked the DoD lol. I remember when they showed the master screaming: sullivaaaaannn! lol. He looked like a power rangers villain. And when the brought the Yeti! lol
That transition is Awesome...
...the Goldberg/Nash/Steiner triple threat match at New Blood Rising was not the main event nor was it for the WCW Championship. It was the semi-main event and it was to determine the number one contender for the WCW Championship. The WCW Championship main event of New Blood Rising was a singles match between Booker T and Jeff Jarrett. Please do your research, WhatCulture.
New Blood Rising was one of the worst pay-per-views WCW ever put on!
That thunder in paradise joke was brilliant. Im Laughing my head off right now.
😅....channel surfing.
I was fortunate to have two TV set's.😁
Me too
WCW did so much stupid shit, I'm amazed you guys narrowed it down to a top 10!
Let's be fair, at least WCW didn't give a reign to a 10 year ol...
Oh wait... -_-
Simon should do a new list like this featuring Vince McMahon booking decisions from the last 3 years.
So WCW firing Ric Flair while he was World Champion doesn't make the list?
Warrior vs hogan 2 is possibly the greatest match in wrestling history.
Undertaker vs goldberg blows that out the water
I knew by reading the title this was gonna be a Simon video.
DUBBYAH SEE DUBBYAH
a common mistake people make is assuming wcw went out of business because of bad matches and insipid angles. it was all down to money and time warner hated wrestling. if an unsatisfying product REALLY killed companies WWE would not be #1 right now or even still on the air.
(Dis) Honorable Mention for Bret Hart's feud with Will Sasso from Mad TV.
Is that one were he got a little to violent?
Nash didn't get booking power until early 1999.
Hahah
I really hope the next video is a horrifyingly stupid WWE moments
Good idea but where am I going to find the time to watch an 18 hour video???
Just tune in every Monday and Tuesday
Giving Hogan too much creative control was a major factor.
