  • Here is another laser comparisons with some higher end models.
We tested the L3 PEQ15, BE Meyers MAWL C1+, Wilcox Raid X, and L3 NGAL
Due to the image being blown out last time I decided to use the Sionyx Aurora for recording. This did reduce the resolution but I feel it helps provide a more accurate measurement of the lasers performance without blowing out the white balance. If you are looking for a specific portion of the comparison check the links below.

The reason some complain about the NGAL and water is because it is sold in two variants - the A7 version which is water resistant to only 1-meter, and the A1 variant which is the 30-meter version. The A7 is meant for infantry/ground elements and domestic law enforcement, whereas the A1 is designed for NSW dudes and tactical cephalopods. Also, the A1 variant is reported to be hardened against prolonged exposure to designer haircare products. In short, look at the label on your NGAL and see if the P/N ends in A7 or A1. Every NGAL I’ve seen in civilian or LEO hands is an A7.
Lastly, the NGAL is the most expensive of the bunch, at the moment. Agency price is now just over $5K. Agency price on the RAID-X/Xe (Xe is the newer RAID and fixes a few RAID foibles) is around $3500 and Agency price on the MAWL-DA (the full power version of the C1+) is just $2250. So, strictly from a “performance per dollar” perspective, the MAWL-DA is the clear winner… for now.

I feel like due to the pricing and performance being really close between 3 of 4 lasers at a certain point it would all come down to preference and ergonomics. The MAWL is the heaviest of all lasers and has the best ergo for some users essentially mimicking the shape and positioning of a flashlight, but arguably has the widest offset while the NGAL is like half the weight but still has a typical offset for an IR laser and the RAID has the most diverse functions, similar weight to the NGAL and smallest footprint while having a centerlined emitter.

    • @Jewifer333x2

Out of all 4 the PEQ 15 under some circumstances has the least features, perhaps the worst illum and is the 2nd heaviest of the 4 but has the lowest pricepoint.

I have a vir2 and am mostly not happy with it. I LOVE the form factor and wish they'd improve the zeroing and give it a bit more power. It's ok as a pistol light, maybe on a pdw. But it lacks "clicks" on the zeroing, the illuminator is very weak and the zero may shift.
It's ok on a glock handgun, and yes you can run it at 12 oclock on a mk18 etc. But the terrible zeroing, weak illuminator and lack of precision make it dissapointing.
