Here’s a tip for those of you who don’t know and want to save battery, turn off raise to wake and leave on tap to wake. It will save a ton of battery. Not only does your screen come on in your pocket when the phone thinks it is “raised” but it activates Face ID sensors because it thinks you want to unlock your phone. Also turn off background app refresh for apps you don’t really use, turn off AOD (or if you want it have it without wallpaper). Turn off notifications from apps you don’t need them from (i.e games). Always use dark mode and reduce white point (search it in settings) and turn down to what suits your eyes. And stop swiping up apps after use. Just exit out of them. You use way more battery reloading an app than just resuming it. The phone is designed for multitasking 👍🏽

Bought the 14 pro max last week and plan to stick with it at least 4 years
My always on display is placed on naturally dim. And I don’t have any problems with the dynamic island like the ones you mentioned. Do you not know how to use the phone?

I just upgraded from the 13 to the 14 Pro Max. I’m throughly enjoying the phone and will be a long time before I upgrade this phone.
I always put a screen protector on my phones and tablets, It’s essential. I use the Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra and the iPhone 12 mini.
The *lighningggg* is definetly something else!

You don’t think it’s over processed ? I’ve been messing with my 12 pro and 14 pro and I feel like it over sharpens, not True Tone and doesn’t auto adjust very well in the dark. I just find it sharper and warmer

Good review, thanks. I think we all knew dynamic island was goofy hype from the keynote when we saw it. Not a bad way to deal with the notch I guess, but very gimmicky all the same.
Well obviously AOD drains your battery a bit...that's not a negative thing, it's just perfectly logical…and apple managed to make an AOD that only drains Your Battery like 1% per hour which is absolutely insane compared to other phones AODS
My S23 Ultra's Always On Display has used 3.6% battery in the 12hrs it's been on today (no charging). 1% an hour isn't as impressive as you think it is.

If i get it it would honestly be for the dynamic island even if its overhyped. I dont want a notch with no fuctionality at all
Just upgraded from SE2 to 14 pro max. I absolutely love this phone. I agree with some of your points. The dynamic island is not that crazy like apple makes it out to be but overall I am very happy with this phone. Even though the dynamic island is not all that I do like that they changed it from the notch. We had the notch since iPhone X and that was getting old. This iPhone will age very well as the dynamic island will become the standard for a while and you won’t feel outdated for a very long time. Overall a very solid phone.

For the AOD, you can choose to have it just as a black screen? I think that consumes less than just the dimming type of AOD.
Dynamic island mad annoying when you screen recording 😭 a big black bar sitting on the top when you screen recording is crazy
The camera is overall quite great, but I've noticed the focus distance is much further on the iPhone 14 Pro than the previous generations which is a result of having a larger sensor. It's definitely a trade off of having a larger sensor but it's pretty annoying when trying to scan a document or photograph something close up with the main camera-switching to macro mode sooner than previous generations.

That would keep me from buying the phone. Scanning documents is too important in my life. Maybe I will get the 12 pro when I switch from Google. I was upset with the mechanism and the way they carried out their layoffs. My A53 works pretty well, but it's the maximum size for my hand, and the A54 is even bigger.

I don’t know when I use the always on display I can definitely tell that I locked my phone they did however add an up t of it where it shows a black screen and just your time a widgets. The dynamic island is phone to have, I never had a problem with accidentally touching anything that I did not want to touch.
I am getting only 6 hours battery backup in my iphone 14 pro LL/A is there any problem?
I’m getting a 14 pro and sticking with it for a good 3-4 years and upgrading. What I usually do is do research and depending on what I think about the phone. Im upgrading from an 11 original so I felt as if I should upgrade so I can’t complain at all I just really enjoy how the newer iPhones look and how the notch on top is a pill now so I think I will be set after this one. I think.
I upgraded from 11 base to 14 pro. 😊. I needed a better camera, and I liked some of the other features. I think I’ll try and hold onto this one until Apple stops supporting it. I can’t imagine the iPhone getting much better than this in any meaningful way.
I upgraded from the XS max to the 14 pro max. It’s been a great upgrade! The camera is fantastic, and I’m just assuming that the dynamic island will become better once more apps start to support and utilize it. Like you, I’m hoping that I can hang onto this one for the next 4ish years. I’ve been very happy with it!

Is the default picture over processing? Not everyone Intrest in the proraw
The AOD issues don’t make sense for an argument. You can literally disable the wallpaper from showing with recent updates so you won’t be so “distracted”.
Honestly, there isn’t much I hate or dislike about the phone. I love the AOD and dynamic island. I kinda wish there was more exciting software features which are more useful then aesthetic ( like the pixel features).

I got the 14PM as my first iPhone and I feel I am underutilizing its features. I only ever use it for calls, emails, calendars, and the occasional social media browsing.
Why did you not take basic iP 14 then? Just curious. I am also thinking shall I take 14 or 14 pro
@@vladimirmoskal2988 Personally, I see no point in spending too much and not going all in so I took the plunge with the Pro Max. It was the same way I did with all the previous Samsung phones I had. It's like going big or not upgrading at all. 😰
@@danielleamber7353 no worries I felt the same like you. Either go big or not go at all since I used Android for all my previous phones, so no reason to go for the base iPhone unless for saving cost.
How about battery performance ?
I’ve just upgrade from iPhone 8 Plus to iPhone 14 Pro and I can say that Dynamic Island is great. I Think it’s useful since you can control music and other apps through it and the animations are incredibly beautiful. Of course that there’s not a ton of functions of DI, but if you compare with a regular notch, I’d choose DI everytime over a notch.
Are you getting a good battery health?
@@iamakifislam 1 day and a half in a regular use. More or less 6 hours of screen on time.

@@iamakifislam Hard to say, I don't know any 14 Pro Max user. My mom has a 13 Pro Max and it lasts 2 days, but I don't know about her screen on time.

I turned off AOD after the first night when it glowed in the dark. Went very dim. But not completely off no matter what I did. Also like the reviewer, it distracted me.

For me I’m on the fence 😮the only reason why I would upgrade is because of the raw photos but do you take a lot of raw 48mp photos ? Or 4K cinematic mode a lot ? Or just regular videos and photos 😊great video!
It depends on if you’re into photography and want to take high quality pictures you wouldn’t be able to take unless you had a camera that costs over a thousand dollars in which the 14 pro max does an impressive job of doing that . I love taking pictures hence why I upgraded to the 14 pro max and it has the best performance I’ve ever experienced using a phone up to this point so in my opinion if you’re a few generations behind I’d highly recommend this device to you
@@JayPistol2000 I love photography but it's like an extra $1k Canadian to get the phone compared to my 13, and my 12 pro max. so I'm just wondering if I should just buy a regular camera instead but you got the 14 pro max what color and size and do you shoot raw photos or just regular photos? I'm not too far behind but I only like the new camera I don't need the extra features that you pay for
@@LouisLuzuka that’s why you see a lot of photographers switching over to the newer iPhones because the camera system in them have mostly all the features you could ask for in a Camera without having to pay more for an actual camera to take photos. If you don’t have the extra money for the Pro Max model I would recommend getting the Pro model because it’s basically the same phone but with a smaller form factor plus it’s a couple hundred dollars cheaper so it’s not over that thousand dollar price point that the Pro Max Models are known for

Why would you say Motorola, Samsung, xiaomi, etc can make “dynamic island” into a single punch hole?
The iPhone has FaceID and all the sensors needed for it, while the others are just front facing cameras.
I’m not gonna lie the island does have it’s issues. I’m not going to panic because I know we will get updates soon. All in all I love the phone. Coming from a iPhone 11 pro max is a difference.
Dynamic island is far better than a stupid notch. It's not ideal, but I love it for music, and gps. It's a software thing, so I'm sure there will be a lot more ways to use it, over time.

As for AOD I already knew from using my watch that I didn’t want aod and so I won’t use that.
With all the talk of lightning port for charging, I find it hard to believe that you don't just charge wirelessly overnight not used a cable in years not a reason to ditch iPhone maybe for file transfer but then again I just get my photos straight of the mac via cloud boom

Are you not aware you can turn off the picture of AOD? Sounds like you’re not aware of the changes.
Does anyone experience a camera problem with 14pro? Even after the 16.3 update, my cam still keeps on showing only black when using messenger and cam app per se (maybe once a week). I tried to hard reset it but nothing happens. When i was in 16.1.2, i had the same problem and the tech support told me to update. Still encountered the same prob. The problem still persists until now. Also, there are instances when the keyboard is not showing on apps where i need to type. Example app store, youtube, tiktok. Please, if anyone experience the same problem, let me know what you did to resolve it. Last resort would be to go to the service center.
I had these problems on my iphone 11 from time to time, but not that often. And I also camera experienced focus problems

I got a gold 14 Pro in mid December, wasn’t going to upgrade but Verizon finally convinced me to give up my 12 Mini. The software can be a little buggy sometimes but otherwise It’s a nice phone
Same, Verizon gave me a free phone I just paid taxes and am trading in my 12 pro. There’s nothing really new with the 14 from the 12 to make me want to switch but I won’t turn down a free phone.

Im really enjoying my iPhone 14 pro I’ve had the phone for 4 months I’m really enjoying it, I love dynamic Island ,The cameras and 120hz screen, I don’t really like the always on display I’ve got it off because It was draining my battery and I didn’t find the feature very useful. I can just tap my phone instead of using the always on display

Me thinks the only reason for the Dynamic Blob is so the iPhone will be recognizable by others.
Apple discontinuing the Mini has also made me upset enough to switch to Samsung as well too !!!!

People have been crying about the lighting cable for over 10 years for one reason or another. Anyone who cared about universal changing got a wireless charger. Everyone else just plugs into their same 5v brick when they go to bed.

Because the 14 Pro camera bumps are extra thicc, dust is more of an issue than ever. Solvable with a tech cleaner kit.

Have this phone. I prefer the notch over the gimmicky dynamic island that I never use. I also switched back to my 13 Pro due to the lack of a physical SIM card as I like to switch phones in and out.
I have a love hate relationship with my 14 Pro. I hate it’s size and I feel like my sisters 12 Pro takes better pictures even though this one has 48MP camera The size is what bothers me most. I should’ve gone with the SE3 or the Mini from the get go. 😂 Oh well it paid in full so I’m stuck with this iPhone for the next 4 plus years.

Did you change your camera settings.there is no way at all your sisters iPhone 12 Pro takes better photos than your 14 pro,I promise you😂 I literally have both.maybe just change up some settings and utilize RAW
