    I like how Sr Gonzales put theory in there in a practical way for those maybe less familiar with subject. I will use some of these ideas in my teaching

    Extremely happy to see you back and with an great video :)! Not only you share your work freely to everyone, still have time to make this incredible tutorial. When I saw Sampo in your old channel (leonbloy), I bought my first guitar and since then I've been studying music.
    I give you my best regards and sincerely thank you for inspiring me to play guitar.

    Your way of seeing music on the guitar, putting a melody and a bass line inside harmony using chords is very inspiring to me. I'd be really happy if you would make some music theory lessons or more videos like this, I watched this whole video twice without even touching my guitar (I'll start practicing it after I've got the piece down I'm currently learning), it is a lovely glimpse into the inner workings of one of my favourite "anime songs". Thank you for this video and the great arrangements you make!

    Hola. Después de mucho tiempo vine buscando un contacto y veo que los videos han mejorado mucho. No me refiero a la guitarra, porque de eso no sé más que escuchar. Pero la producción y el diálogo con la cámara. Bueno, espero no estar acosándote por todos los medios. Te mandé un mail. Salute.

    hey man ur fuckin great! not sure if u have gone over this before, but what advice would you give to a beginner guitarist who wishes to achieve the level of play/knowledge you are at? what should i focus on and what kind of learning timeframes should i have in mind? thanks!

    • @LeonBloy
      @LeonBloy  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks.
      For me, it's essential to understand basic theory (read partitions - no tabs - learn notes, chords, basic harmony). I don't think I could enjoy playing guitar (and put some emotion in it) if I did not understand what I was playing (the harmonic structure).
      Also essential, to train the fingers, is to get some classical guitar lesson books (I learned with the old typical ones: Sagreras, Sor, Carcassi, Coste), don't pretend to learn just by playing the music you like.
      Another thing that can help to understand "what is going on" is to practice guitar accompaniment (singing and playing chords), specially with harmonically simple-traditional songs. And also the practice of discovering the chords and the melody by yourself.
      A teacher is surely a great help -perhaps a need. At least for a couple of years.
      Music learning (playing technique and theory) can be painfully slow. But the progress is steady. Every little bit you learn gets engraved in your brain-fingers, you'll never forget it. This accumulative effect makes possible what at first try seemed impossible, even if you are a lousy student (bad discipline and bad musical ear) - as myself. But you must be patient.

      THANKS MAN... Have had a guitar for like... 12 years... was too lazy to REALLY learn (all I did was tabs for like a few months... then I would forget and give up for years, and repeat...) but I'm doing it slowly like u said, it's HARD but it is really fun... lookin forward to bein as good as u one day! I'll def check out those books too, bc finger technique seems really important and I gotta get it down right...
