    Hey everyone, Kevin here. I figured I’d start a RUclips channel that felt a little more personable as I brought you all along on my adventures. Florida can be a tough state to camp in. I usually camp twice a week from November until March with friends. I still camp through the summer, just not as frequently as other adventures seem to take up the long summer days. I work rotating 12 hour shifts that allow me to have off 14+ days a month. Combine that with my sense of adventure and I'm able to see what the states really have to offer. So please, go ahead, subscribe and follow along for some fun outdoor adventures!

    Thank you for telling the masses they don’t need to charge their cards to go out and camp.

    Man, that was a ton of garbage! Hopefully, someone can organize a clean-up.
    Great looking food at that campout 😋🤤
    What an awesome time out you had😁

      They do have clean ups, but its hard to hit all of the areas of the forest. It's roughly 430,000 acres.

    Nice video! You know how I’ve harped on keeping it simple for years. I have no problem with the “stuff” but I get upset when people push the narrative that it’s actually required. I tend to bring way more if I’m camping with a group, but I’ve got my personal setup whittled down to something you could easily put in the backseat of a Corolla, yet still be very comfortable. Thanks for coming out again!

      You are right about that. Thanks for the invite. Hopefully we can do it again before March.

    Crazy rain with this front! I saw your buddy’s Florida Trail sticker on the front of his windshield. Very cool! I help with the trail maintenance in our Indian River Chapter. Yall should check out Bull Creek and Prairie Lakes to camp at. Beautiful out there. You’re absolutely right that you do not need all of that expensive gear. I brought a butane burner for last trail meet to warm up coffee as we were there a night before food was provided. We enjoy y’all’s videos! Thanks!

      I don't think it was really bad here in the Tampa area. But other parts of the state got strong wind. I donated money to the FT a couple years ago and got a hat and some stickers. I don't think many people know that the trail system even exists. Thanks for helping maintain the trails.
      Thank you for watching.

    Totally agree my wife and I just bought a Coleman Skydome Darkroom 4 person tent at REI in Orlando to use up in Ocala. Thats why I was asking where you camped at. All we can ever locate is the campsite y the bombing range. I think that’s Haines Prairie if I’m not mistaken by the lake.

    Awesome overnight and great advice to those wanting to get into camping. Truly hated to see the dump area with all the trash...great way to ruin it for everyone else wanting to enjoy the great outdoors..one of my favorite fishing sites got closed for folks dumping stuff all over...and the sad irony is that they have a dumpster right there to use. Great mantra you have...leave it better than you found it. Great content as always and I appreciate you sharing your adventures with us. Thanks again for all you do.🚙🔥⛺🇺🇸😎😇

    I have an Ozark trail tent that is 15 years old and I still use it on occasion. Agree with the coleman stove as well.

    • @OverlandFlorida
      @OverlandFlorida  9 месяцев назад +1

      The biggest complaint of the Coleman stove is controlling the flame to an even low temperature. I don't really have that issue with the foods that I cook.

    • @sunshinestatebushcrafter3049
      @sunshinestatebushcrafter3049 9 месяцев назад +1

      @KevinHillyard yes, that and the wind guards are easy to knock down. But otherwise it's a good stove.

    I just came across your channel. A little bit of advice. I wouldn’t leave your tackle or poles on your boat. I’m 40 now, but when we were teenagers, we would take our little Jon boat out and take tackle boxes and fishing poles off of boats on the St. John. Not proud of it, but that’s what we did. Just trying to look out for you. You can’t trust anyone.

    • @OverlandFlorida
      @OverlandFlorida  9 месяцев назад

      Well, luckily I don’t fish. So no tackle or fishing poles 😂. Thanks for the advice.

      I've seen a lot of trash all around Ocala National Forest. The Forest Service has had to close areas because of it. Such a shame people act like pigs.
