@user-wb5lx5zu7u The cultural impact will be absolutely no comparison. Secret Wars is not going to have the same effect on people as Infinity War/Endgame did.
Mostly because the MCU has squandered a lot of the goodwill they built the first 10 years of the Infinity Saga by making extremely sub-par movies and shows for the last 5 years. Not to mention the interconnectivity of the MCU seems to be fraying. It's all very disconnected and directionless right now.

I remember going to opening night for most of the old Star Trek movies and I can remember audiences cheering in every single one of them. We had the same with the Star Wars prequels and a couple of other movies. Then of course this and Endgame. I personally love when audiences cheer and applaud. Sure, it can be annoying because you might miss a line of dialogue, but honestly it is an energy that makes a movie memorable

My local theater quickly and quietly ushered everyone out the back exit each time a showing ended. To prevent anyone coming in to watch it, seeing the dejected looks on everyone who was leaving after watching it. It actually was pretty impressive, since those first few days there were showings starting every 10-15 minutes during peak hours.

Thanos has his own code of honour. He doesn't lie and he only uses the force he needs to in order to accomplish his goals. He isn't cruel or vengeful and doesn't doesn't even kill defeated opponents most of the time. He really is a unique villain.

It became a BATTLE OF WILLS as Steve was in physical contact with the glove he could affect it, the Stones were stuck between the 2 WILLS now over them and Thanos was unable to use his arm or it's power in that moment, hence why the perplexed look on his face ("What is happening, my arm is stuck, the Stones aren't responding, how's this Terran doing this?") and why he had to strike with his OTHER FIST, as a master tactician he figured a way to break out of that and not just stay FREAKED OUT like someone else might.
Example: Wanda stopped to mourn Vision instead of dealing with Thanos standing right next to her.
Like try attacking the Gauntlet or other stones like she just did to Vision.

It’s a great tear jerker. I think the one that really gets me is Spider-Man. It’s easy to overlook that he really is just a kid. A kid who feels it’s his responsibility to use his powers 😉 to the greatest of his abilities, not only for those in his neighborhood but in any situation he encounters. This burden has him fearful of falling short, especially not wanting to fail and letdown Tony (a strong male presence in his life since he’s lost his own father and uncle.) Really he’s a just boy coming to terms with his power and finding himself and his place/role in the world while taking on problems, enemies, and dangers that the men, and women, adult heroes around him have a tough time with. It’s A LOT for just a kid (started choking up even writing that.)

    Cristy, two things:
    1) Almost everyone invested in these characters at the very least teared up at the end of this movie. Some of us straight up bawled too. You are far from alone.
    2) Never be ashamed of crying or let anyone shame you for it. You obviously cry due to your big heart and that’s one of the most valuable things in this world. It is not a flaw of your person in any way.

As someone who lived through the 90's comic book films being jokes and ridiculed. I sat there in the movie theater in 2018, knowing full well the snap was coming, and was able to sit there and absorb the reactions in the room. There were people screaming and crying, the credits was nothing but sobbing and chatter. After a decade, that's what had been built and the respect that had been earned. Although Endgame IMO isn't as good, the credits to that is the perfect endcap to what is basically a flawless 10+ year story run that was finished off surpassing all expectations. Marvel may have dipped in quality since, but the Infinity Saga was a masterpiece and this is one of the best films ever made. People cried at the end of a movie about people in spandex fighting space aliens. That's how far we have come and it was a beautiful moment to reflect on.

It was an absolutely shocking moment in the theater when it happened and no one spoke a word throughout the remainder of the movie, cut scenes and leaving. Tony: No, this is where you ZIP IT, alright? The adult is talking! What if somebody had died tonight? Different story, right? 'Cause that's on *you*. And if you died, I feel like that's on me. I don't need that on my conscience.
    Peter: Yes, sir, I...
    Tony: Yes.
    Peter: I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
    Tony: "Sorry" doesn't cut it.

Love your reactions. Joined in late so I’m behind the curb. But still love it. Also, I’m sure someone already mentioned it. But something interesting is notice Spider-Man took way longer to die then everyone? It’s because his spider sense was warning him of what was coming to him and his healing factor was trying to heal him as he was vanishing.
Again beautiful reaction! Love your Authenticity. Keep it up!

The end of the movie just had Cap flop down on the ground in defeat. His whole journey was him getting back up and saying "I can do this all day." That was so powerful for such a small thing in the movie.

Happy to see you get to this one, its tough. Saw it in theater and guy further back got so mad he threw his drink which hit my buddy in the head. Movie almost made me hurt somebody, but my friend didn't want that thankfully. Can't wait to see how you enjoy the journey beyond this. There's great things to come.

On that day, the Avengers were born-to fight the foes no single super hero could withstand! Through the years, their roster has prospered, changing many times, their glory has never been denied! Heed the call, then-for now, the Avengers Assemble!”

The theater was silent as we exited. Now, you can watch what happens next tomorrow or today. We waited in numbness for a year.
And yet, it will continue to get better.

The only proper way to bring yourself back from the depression which this movie leaves you in is to watch "Team America" - a lighthearted look at America at its best!

Just some things to be noted:
    1. thors hammer only has the spell for not be picked up, so the new axe can be picked up by anyone
    2. hawkeye and antman are in house arrest (they mentioned briefly), they were never forced to come because nobody thought it would be going be this bad
    some fun things to know:
    1. Phase 3 plot was very well written, producer kevin said that avengers lost because they were not together, and they wanted it like that, to make them something unprepared, thats why they made civil war before infinity war to tear them apart to make them vulnerable.
    2. In the age of everything gets leaked avengers endgame title was never leaked, nobody knew what the title of last movie will be, even the 1st teaser they uploaded was titled the video as Avengers - official trailer, its only at the end of that teaser they reveal the title, that too very slowly (it still blows my mind, it was just worth of everything)

Great reaction to a purely devastating movie.
A friend of mine who served four tours in Iraq and lost friends over there told me about going to see this movie with some of his other ex-Army friends on opening night. Five guys with varying levels of PTSD expecting to see the usual heroes win Marvel movie and instead they saw this. Five guys bawling more than you did in the theater, and they weren't alone. There was no conversation, just the sounds of sorrow. They straggled out with the rest of the audience, looking more like zombies from The Walking Dead than people.
On the better side(?) they proceeded to go get moderate amounts of alcohol and then cue up insane amounts of Looney Tunes and Scooby-Doo cartoons to cheer themselves up. It more or less worked. But as he said, "Having to wait a mother effing year to see what happened after that was effing hateful for them to do to us." Can't argue with that.
And no shame on your tears. I got even more teary eyed than usual because my heart broke for you, you poor sweet lady.

The Soul Stone is the most fascinating of the Infinity Stones, IMO. It does indeed hold a special place.
Within the Stone is a pocket universe, where all souls - past and present - can be found.
When Thanos did the Snap, he was momentarily in the Soul Stone, where Gamora's soul spoke to him.
