Thanos' tears for Gamora were 100% real, he did legit love her (in his own insane and twisted way) as a daughter otherwise the sacrifice wouldn't have worked.
I think you missed the significance of obtaining the Soul Stone. Gamora was initially relieved and amused because she truly believed that Thanos loved no one but himself, but it turns out that he truly did love Gamora, or he would not have obtained the Soul Stone by that sacrifice, so the tears were absolutely real.
Thanos did truly love Gamora, but he loved himself and his delusions of godhood even more. To him, it was all about doing something horrible that no one else wanted, and overcoming every obstacle to prove his superiority. And he fooled himself into believing that he was the misunderstood good guy who was doing what was "right" and best for all. And his argument was so pathetically weak, on top of that. With that kind of power, he could have doubled the available resources of the universe, but then he wouldn't have faced so much opposition, so he murdered half of the living beings in the universe instead. He just had to do something horrible instead of positive because it was more of a challenge in many ways, perhaps even for his own conscience (if he had one). Thanos was the most despicable and delusional narcissist and megalomaniac. But yes, he loved Gamora.

A lot of people say Starlord didn't follow Gamora's instructions to kill her...but we can clearly see that he did pull the trigger while aiming at her and shot her but with harmless bubbles. He had no control over Thanos and his stones.

Fun fact, Thor didn't actually learn to speak Groot on Asgard. Thor has what's called all-speak (or all-tongue) which enables him to speak and understand every language in the universe. In other words, anything he hears is automatically translated for him to understand and anything he says can be understood by a group as if Thor were speaking in their own language. Funnily enough, this is why we can understand Thor as the audience because he speaks every language simultaneously and whoever hears him speak is hearing it in their own language, so we hear him in English. He was just making a joke about it being an elective.
That’s the great thing about Thanos - he’s an absolute pragmatist. He sees himself as the unsung hero, digging his hands in the dirt to do the job no one else is willing to do. He lives for a purpose that will likely take his life, and he’s made peace with that. You can’t debate someone with that kind of conviction. In his mis mind, he’s a force of nature.
No, you're missing his point. He didn't destroy (or slaughter) her planet. He JUST killed half the population. You know, like he wants to do to the whole universe.

“Look at that little goat in the background” 😂😂 you should watch the bloopers. That little goat started to bleat during Chadwick’s lines. It was too cute.
One of my all time favorites. This movie really hit me in the feelings spot, if you know what I mean. Also, in the one of the last scenes when Groot vanishes, is one of the saddest things I’ve seen in any marvel film. Groot just looks at Rocket scared and confused and simply says “Dad?!”. Finally confirming that he really is not just Rockets best friend, but also his son.
This film was an emotional roller coaster and I can’t wait for you to react to endgame! Both Infinity War and Endgame are my two personal favorite MCU films.
35:48 - "I don't believe those tears" - the tears are real. Remember, he had to sacrifice what he loved most, otherwise it wouldn't have worked and he wouldn't have gotten the stone. He really did love her as a daughter.
This isnwhat I have been waiting fornwhen you started into the MCU so long ago!! This movie has the capacity to break people. My wife cries at this one anytime we see it either on DVD, Disney+ or TV. What was your favorite scene? Who has the best interaction with another Avenger? What scene, in the first half, broke your heart? Can't wait for the second half!! Keep doing what your doing!! We love you!!!
This one’s always better in two parts. Soooo looking forward to your part two. And, congrats on the move and everything you’ve accomplished! You are inspiring :)
I'm excited. This is 1 of 2 that I think we've all been waiting for. Smart move splitting it. Now I had to get your patreon..I couldn't wait till Monday.😆
Actually Ashleigh, you are forgetting the ending scene from Thor: Ragnarok. Loki has absolutely nothing to do with what happened here EXCEPT for the fact that he has the tesseract. Remember that huge massive big ass space ship that Thor and Loki saw at the end??? That is what is happening now. That ship was Thanos' ship and he came for the tesseract. Or more accurately, the Space Stone inside the tesseract.
A longer video is always better than splitting into two parts. I'm fairly sure thus is the first time I've had to Dislike one of your videos, I mean it isn't even in the title that it's split into 2 parts. 👎
Of course no one minds a 2 part reaction. To do this movie, or End Game in a short single reaction would be an injustice. Thank you for the longer reaction!
The Maw and the others aren't Thanos' actual children, unlike Gamora and Nebula. The better term for them would be devoted followers. His henchmen, if you will. Edit: Also, the Iron Spider suit is the same suit Stark showed Peter at the end of "Homecoming". The one he wanted him to try on.
- Ashleigh: "Hey, imitation is the highest form of flattery..." - Me, some kind of man of culture: "Identity theft is not a joke, Ash, millions of families suffer every year!"
Glad you split it up, that way we get more footage. This is my favorite MCU movie ,so I'm looking forward to the rest of the reaction. Congrats on the new house.
You are mistaken, Ashleigh. Loki had the scepter that had the mind stone, it is now a part of Vision. The Tesseract (aka. the cradle, of Joddenheim, Odin's finest treasure) was holding the space stone. Which is why they used it to open a portal for the Chetauri in the first Avengers movie. One thing that many people miss about the reality stone scene with Thanos is that in order for the bubbles to come out of Starlord's gun he had to have pulled the trigger. He kept his promise to Gamora to kill her if Thanos ever gets a hold of her, but Thanos rendered it harmless.
Things I knew going into this reaction: Ashley was going to be pumped at seeing everybody getting together; how much I was anticipating her reaction to the movie. Things I didn't know: how deflated I would be at having to wait over the weekend to see the second part. Well played.😉
Still baffles me how Thanos actually cared for Gamora enough to earn the gem. Also blew my little nerd brain when Red Skull showed up again, that was fantastic.
Can't wait to see the new studio, I know you guys are excited. I agree with your decision to split the review into two parts because there were too many storylines going on at once and no way to give a decent review in the span of time allowed. I am now caught up with the Marvel Universe at this point and seeing as you're seeing it. Pretty crazy so far. Anyway, congrats on the move, and as always, loved the review, love you and tell Beans hi 👋.
The four new villains alongside Thanos are the other members of the "Children of Thanos", alongside Gamora and Nebula. I'm sad they didn't get more introduction than they did, but it is what it is. Ebony Maw is the squidward looking telekinetic dude. Cull Obsidian is the big beefy guy with the claw-hammer Corvus Glaive is that evil elf looking guy with the spear (aka a glaive) Proxima Midnight is that creepy horned chick. And no, Loki is proper dead this time :P This is the first film in which we see all 6 Infinity Stones too Purple = Power, grants the bearer super strength and endurance, as well as creating volatile energy blasts Blue = Space, allows teleportation and manipulation of spacetime Red = Reality, letting the user change the laws of physics in a local area around them. Yellow = Mind, giving one telepathic and mind control abilities, as well as fortifying one's mind against same. Green = Time, should be obvious. Orange = Soul, allowing the holder to directly manipulate the souls of living beings, and to also resurrect and conjure the spirits of those who are dead. The strange orange dreamscape at the end after The Snap is a pocket dimension inside the Soul stone known as Soulworld, where the souls of all living beings can be found. Also that flip-phone is the burner phone that Cap gave to Tony in case he ever needed to call him.
An alternate time line version of Loki still exists - thus the Loki tv series. It's great - you should check it out. Now that you've seen Infinity War, their are no spoilers to ruin future MCU movies in Loki.
Paul Bettany, who plays Vision, also played Jarvis in the "Agent Carter" TV series on ABC, a spin-off of both the "Agents of SHIELD" TV show and the "Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter" blu-ray bonus short.
Squidward is actually called Ebony Maw. The lady & man with the spears are Proxima Midnight & Corvus Glaive. They are a married couple which is why she was concerned about him.
At this point in this "roller-coaster" of a movie you have been subjected to so many twists and turns you probably thought that you are nearing the end of the ride. All I can say is "buckle up Buttercup" because you have just reached the middle of the ride and there is still a lot of excitement and drama coming up.
Don’t worry Ashleigh! You’ll get to see the use of the cauldron of the cosmos and what it does in the Doctor Strange sequel The Multiverse Of Madness. I’m glad that you finally got around to watch Avengers Infinity War and i can’t wait to see your reaction video to Avengers Endgame. This is one of the most emotional and intense movies throughout the MCU so there’s no shame in letting the tears flow before it’s even over.
"Who is more irresponsible -- teenage Peter Parker, or teenage Groot?" (laughs in Far From Home) Natasha was in hiding, so she dyed it blonde, and cut it. Considering that's closer to Scarlett's actual hair length and color, there wasn't much for the hair/wig department to do.
There's so much to say about this. While the "Agents of Shield" aren't strictly necessary to appreciate the MCU phases 1-3 they give soooo much more backstory to it. That's what happened to me as I tried to slake my addiction thirst of MCU stuff to watch inbetween the movies. Then came this insane whopper of a banger. Bawling my eyes out at certain scenes was definitely on the menu. So take heart, you will get through it. There is still a lot to come.
A lot of people forget that Cap, Natasha, and Falcon have been fugitives for the last few years and probably changed their looks (blonde hair, beards, etc...) to disguise themselves somewhat.

“Look at that little goat in the background” 😂😂 you should watch the bloopers. That little goat started to bleat during Chadwick’s lines. It was too cute.
This movie deserves to have two parts.
Can't wait for Sister Act! And it's fair that you broke this one into two parts- it's a LONG movie!
This is such an enjoyable channel; it’s like getting to watch movies with a friend
Yeah, if your friend is loud and talks over everything in the movie, then sure
This isnwhat I have been waiting fornwhen you started into the MCU so long ago!! This movie has the capacity to break people. My wife cries at this one anytime we see it either on DVD, Disney+ or TV.
What was your favorite scene?
Who has the best interaction with another Avenger?
What scene, in the first half, broke your heart?
Can't wait for the second half!! Keep doing what your doing!! We love you!!!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!! I am going to be hovering over my phone waiting for your part 2 reaction to drop! Great work as always Ashleigh 💓
Mantis and Drax their chemistry together is spot-on and priceless; movie comedy magic!
Mantis, "We're here to kick names and take ass!"
Drax, "That's right"
their delivery is EVERYTHING 😆
Ashley I’m so glad I’ve watched you go on this journey. As good as this one is, the best is yet to come!!
Nah, this was the best. Endgame is a step down.
@@faded1to3black agree to disagree!!
I hated endgame to, they ruined Thor and the Hulk, just to give other characters the shine.
"Oh, we're using our made up names." I love that line.
Aww the 2 part thing took me off guard! You should put Part 1 in the title!
- Ashleigh: "Hey, imitation is the highest form of flattery..."
- Me, some kind of man of culture: "Identity theft is not a joke, Ash, millions of families suffer every year!"
"Red Skull! I haven't seen him in years. Well... not years, but many movies ago..."
No, Ashley, "years" is accurate.
Things I knew going into this reaction: Ashley was going to be pumped at seeing everybody getting together; how much I was anticipating her reaction to the movie.
Things I didn't know: how deflated I would be at having to wait over the weekend to see the second part. Well played.😉
Love your reviews, haven't missed a one since I started watching them. Really wish you would have marked this as a part 1 of 2 in the title.
Still baffles me how Thanos actually cared for Gamora enough to earn the gem. Also blew my little nerd brain when Red Skull showed up again, that was fantastic.
James Gunn revealed on Twitter, that when Groot is fading away and say's "I am Groot" to Rocket....the translation was him saying "Dad".
Ashleigh making the same face as Spider-Man when Quill said Thor wasn't that good looking is perfection.
3:50
"Voldemort looking ass, with the power of the Force" - LMAOOOO.
The four new villains alongside Thanos are the other members of the "Children of Thanos", alongside Gamora and Nebula. I'm sad they didn't get more introduction than they did, but it is what it is.
Ebony Maw is the squidward looking telekinetic dude.
Cull Obsidian is the big beefy guy with the claw-hammer
Corvus Glaive is that evil elf looking guy with the spear (aka a glaive)
Proxima Midnight is that creepy horned chick.
And no, Loki is proper dead this time :P
This is the first film in which we see all 6 Infinity Stones too
Purple = Power, grants the bearer super strength and endurance, as well as creating volatile energy blasts
Blue = Space, allows teleportation and manipulation of spacetime
Red = Reality, letting the user change the laws of physics in a local area around them.
18:37 "Dogs and cats living together....MASS HYSTERIA!!!"
we're here!!! Been looking fwd to this for so long!
An alternate time line version of Loki still exists - thus the Loki tv series. It's great - you should check it out. Now that you've seen Infinity War, their are no spoilers to ruin future MCU movies in Loki.
Here we are, the emotional gut punch my mother equated to watching The Empire Strikes Back when it first came out
Gotta say... I love your reaction. Just popped on my recomended videos and I am glad I clicked on it. You have a new fan.
The “shoutout to the bags under my eyes” had me ROLLLLING. Your hair tho is gorgeous. So ya got that girl! 😊
Paul Bettany, who plays Vision, also played Jarvis in the "Agent Carter" TV series on ABC, a spin-off of both the "Agents of SHIELD" TV show and the "Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter" blu-ray bonus short.
ACK!!!! Nooooo ... *pouts* ... I don't want to have to wait! Also, how do you only have 130k subs? You're the best reviewer around! Dang.
Squidward is actually called Ebony Maw. The lady & man with the spears are Proxima Midnight & Corvus Glaive. They are a married couple which is why she was concerned about him.
11:10 "I love that cape!" His name is Cloaky McFlap-Flap. And he is a good boy.
Grats on the new house!
Have fun setting up your new little studio. Putting up tapestries or something for acoustics ?
At this point in this "roller-coaster" of a movie you have been subjected to so many twists and turns you probably thought that you are nearing the end of the ride. All I can say is "buckle up Buttercup" because you have just reached the middle of the ride and there is still a lot of excitement and drama coming up.
31:39 I love how you called this in a previous movie, the avengers and guardians fight each other until they realize they have a common enemy.
"Flash Gordon, I've never seen that movie"
Well, GUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S GOT TO BE NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Who is more irresponsible -- teenage Peter Parker, or teenage Groot?" (laughs in Far From Home)
Natasha was in hiding, so she dyed it blonde, and cut it.
Wonder what her reaction will be, two movies from now...
A lot of people forget that Cap, Natasha, and Falcon have been fugitives for the last few years and probably changed their looks (blonde hair, beards, etc...) to disguise themselves somewhat.
It never fails, every time I hear Star Lord say, “What am I supposed to say, Jesus?” I crack up, literally lol! 🤣🤣
Ahh! Its finally here and I'm so excited! :D Also excited to see your new studio!
