Why not make it Jason and shed more light on the character? In Arkham Knight, we only see him as Robin for a second and it was in flashbacks.
Tbh if the robin in this dlc was jason, it would make 99% sense for continuity. It would make sense of tim Drake being new after arkham asylum, it would make sense as to why joker is angry and would want revenge on these two characters by crippling Barbra and torturing jason, all of this would make sense story wise if this robin was jason Todd... Plus it would be cool to at least play as jason Todd robin at least one time in the arkham verse
Yeah
While I'm kindve indifferent towards Robin being Tim
I have to say it would make a hell of alot more sense for it to be Jason Todd and BatGirl teaming up
as their part of the two hallucinations you see in the game and batman sees those hallucinations as a reminder of what happens when
"he drags his friend into this crazy little game of ours"
So it would make sense as to why Joker did the things he did to both Barbra and Jason
***** we need something to lay out a full story timeline of this so it would make sense
***** no Keep I mind joker had Jason for a year, and within that year Arkham Asylum happened and tim became robin,
ibravosp5 The problem is the timeline doesn't even make sense now. Then again, I kind of stop caring when they showed Tim being the new Robin 6 fucking months after Jason's "death". It takes about 4-6 months just to train them so that means Batman got over losing a Robin faster than anyone gets over their ex leaving . I can see why Jason turned against Bats.
wonder how many times barry had to save his mom for this to happen.
I see what you did there ;)
BoringMan That dirty flasher
HA
BoringMan I understood that reference
And Batman is now Harvey Dent
They should have just used Jason as robin at least that could have explained his deal by the joker. At the end the DLC the joker could have kidnapped him. Hence the back story of Jason explained
ODC DATSME and it would have gave the title [matter of family] a better meaning
ODC DATSME Hey OCD DATSME what's going on man!
No, Tim wasn't robin until after asylum. In arkham city the joker just meets Tim for the first time in Harley Quinn's revenge. The batgirl dlc would have to be Jason to make sense
Red Hood23 what's up bud!
Not much man, kinda cool to see you here.
If I had to guess, I'd say the Arkhamverse's storyline is as follows.
* Pre-Batman Years: Initiation (Bruce Wayne DLC/Arkham Origins).
* Year 1: Unseen. Probably played out like the Frank Miller comic, albeit without Catwoman.
* Year 2: Mostly unseen. Ends with Arkham Origins.
* Year 3: Cold Cold Heart (Mr. Freeze DLC/Arkham Origins). Origins Blackgate. Later in the year, Dick becomes Robin and Harleen becomes Harley Quinn if Origins' Multiplayer is any indication.
* Year 4: Barbara is likely Batgirl at this point. Dick is likely still Robin.
* Year 5: Dick or Jason is Robin.
* Year 6: Jason is Robin. Dick has gone off to become Nightwing.
* Year 7: Jason is captured by Joker. A Matter of Family (Batgirl DLC/Arkham Knight).
* Year 8: Assault on Arkham.
* Year 9: Arkham Asylum.
* Year 10: Unseen. The prequel comics for Unhinged take place here, assuming nothing in-game contradicts them.
* Year 11: Arkham City. (Stated to take 18 months after Arkham Asylum.) Harley Quinn's Revenge (Harley Quinn DLC/Arkham City).
* Year 12: Harley Quinn DLC. Arkham Knight. Red Hood DLC.
CheesyGranola Let's hope though that they change Robin in the dlc... But your time line seems pretty GOUDA
CheesyGranola Very bad timeline
CheesyGranola THE ARKHAM TIMELINE
Year 1: Batman begins
Year 2: Arkham Origins
Year 3: Barbara becomes Batgirl & Richard becomes Robin
Year 4:
Year 5:
Year 6: Richard becomes Nightwing & Jason Todd becomes Robin
Year 7: Jason is killed. Tim Drake becomes Robin
Year 8: Assault of Arkham & A Matter of Family
Year 9: Barbara is paralyzed by the Joker. Barbara becomes Oracle
Year 10: Arkham Asylum
Year 11: Arkham City is build
Year 12: Arkham City & Arkham Knight
Michael McKenzie Arkham Knight takes place one year after Arkham City.
CheesyGranola actually Arkham Knight takes place 9 months after the events of Arkham City
The robin should have been Jason
Or dick grayson but mostly jason
I'd have taken dick at least he'd make sense
Jakemufcfan I see were ur coming from it just depends on how long before asylum it was if it was like shortly after orgins then dick if it was longer than jason but definitely not tim I want to see a jason todd dlc like a prequel or a actual red hood story
I say Jason because the reason he went after joker and got caught and tortured was partially Barbara's crippling
Jakemufcfan the thing is we dont know its the killing joke because on the trailer when arkham knight had his boot on batmans chest most people belived he killed him but for now we will just have to find out and wait but i agree with jason he hasnt had a lot of love
kNIGHTWING01 What if this DLC is concurrent with Arkham Knight? There was a pretty large span of game time in Arkham Knight during which Barbara was in the hands of Scarecrow. Perhaps this story is about her being under the influences of Scarecrow's toxin. Having her father kidnapped by Joker after what he did to her is probably the most logical thing for her to be afraid of. And since Scarecrow's toxin is a hallucinogen, it wouldn't be outlandish for her to hallucinate having her abilities back again. Also, since in this canon she is in a relationship with Tim Drake it is more logical for her subconscious to choose him to be present in the hallucination than Grayson. This is obviously me only speculating, but I feel like some people are inserting context onto the trailer where no context was given.
It has been stated that this is a prequel
It's not like this is the first time Rocksteady has fudged the truth a little. They claimed the Arkham Knight was an original character which clearly turned out not to be the case. It's entirely possible that this DLC may not be exactly what it appears to be on the surface.
Blake Mecklenburg You are Brilliant SIR! Well done. But they will mess it up. Excellent writing. Bravo
Blake Mecklenburg in the clock tower, there's a newspaper clipping of this particular mission. And one of the riddles unlocks a Gotham city story about it, too.
Okay. That's fair. Batman did hallucinate past events throughout Arkham Knight. So there's still no reason why the same couldn't be happening to batgirl in this dlc. Basically, I'm still holding out a little bit of hope that the timeline inconsistencies weren't a complete oversight by everyone involved.
Ahhh..I see that my toxin is working wonders.
Omg almost died reading this
Scarecrow Totally.
Scarecrow I wish this was DLC was a result of psychosis.
Scarecrow I love you! :D
Scarecrow Get out of my head Crane
Want more evidence that Tim was NOT Robin during Arkham Asylum? Here. Screen Shot Straight from AA Walkthrough twitter.com/KwingReviews/status/619942135048065024
kNIGHTWING01 I think i can safely say that Tim Drake have officially ruined all the lore in the arkham verse.
That's still an assumption. He never referenced Tim all he said was "make" robin wear thd suit or whatever. He could just mean in general seeing as there are are at least 2 by that point.
You can use present tense to refer to a trend (robins suit) even if its not active at the current time. For example "I like lego Star Wars" I have not played lego Star Wars in years but I can still say like rather then liked. Also I never said I thought Jason was alive, I said there had been 2 robins therefore he can treat it as a consistent thing hence the tense. Your just putting words in my mouth.
Not neccissarily. He can be referring to robin as a singular entity overall and that fact that Bruce makes "him" (whoever robin may have been or may be in the future which does not really on there currently at the time being a robin) wear that suit. It can be interpreted 2 ways. You can't say that joker 100% is talking about an active robin. He can just mean that 2 times in that past batman has made robin wear that suit. Its dies no rely on there currently being one. It can go rather way therefore it is not able to wholely disprove the line kwing pointed out. Same as how the line kwing pointed out can't be proven to be referring to robin or oracle definitively. So if we let assumsions be treated as correct 100% then its still a logical paradox cause then robin is not around and is.
Yeah but it still contradicts so much other stuff esspecially the comics. It just easier more questions. I think like is right, we just have to take each games as single peices with rough connections or just exept that they are playing really fast and loose with continuity like really loose. Its really kinda sad since they acted before like the arkhamverse would be an interconnected universe with no confusing timelines. This is what flashbacks, tie ins, and prequels do to franchise that are unprepared for continuity errors. Its kinda depressing.
The timeline doesn’t add up this DLC takes place before Arkham Asylum but after Origins so the Robin in this DLC should be Jason Todd since Jason Todd was being tortured during Arkham Asylum.
I'm hoping the costume/haircut in this trailer is just a placeholder and there'll be a different one in the DLC
the dlc releases in a week. there is no way that was a placeholder
Well at the end you se joker firing a gunshot. So it my be Jason getting killed or in this case brainwashed
Jeff D i guess that makes sense i mean like in the arkham knight trailers the things we saw whernt in the game so it makes scene cuz it could be some mild spoilers they dont want to show when the dlc comes out
Maybe it's a placeholder to prevent spoilers at least that's what I'm hoping
Lewt Shogun-Shien WB Games Montreal could have made the trailer before the DLC's release, or simply gotten lazy and reused the Tim skin when Robin was Dick or Jason.
knowing kwing he actually ripped up his prequel comics.
they should have had batgirl and nightwing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YES
Haljordan4life I agree.
No
Nah looking at the timeline it should’ve really been Jason. That would have made more sense
@Haljordan4life facts, I actually really like Tim and Barbs together
I just want a Nightwing free roam... is that too much to ask... to go around Gotham as Nightwing?
Forget that. I want a Nightwing game.
TheKGamer Ah, but would you want a Nightwing game by WB Montreal?
Irku Kenta no id want it by rocksteady
Kwing Tim is actually a time lord
MainlyPardoo Well all is forgiven then
kNIGHTWING01 when is the finale of Arkham Knight?
kNIGHTWING01 lol
Yeah, it makes absolutely no sense as to why Tim is Robin during this story. As far as gameplay goes, I really hope they make the hacking optional and not some gimmick that is constantly shoved down your throat.
Like how there was so much Batmobile in the main game.... Hopefully this isn't another gimmick that they're "So proud" of. And just have way to much of it.
TheKGamer Exactly.
Just have fun my gosh always complaining just. Shows that fans are never happy.
PerfectSuperSaiyan We will have fun when they story makes sense!
PerfectSuperSaiyan You don't understand the danger of prequels OR how EASY it is to keep to what's been established. If they want to make an additional story, keep in line with the OG story. It's not hard. That's the basics of creative writing 101! Even George Lucas could do it.
kNIGHTWING01 Is Geroge Lucas that bad xD ? I never watched or saw anything to him :3
kNIGHTWING01 well shit.
He never said he wasn't gonna have fun playing the game he just hates the storyline. And for all fans to be happy you need a perfect game and that's never gonna happen.
Man they really screwed up this game first they insult us pc gamers with the terrible port, then insult Paul Dini and the fans of the hush side quest in arkham city with the 1 cut scene side quest of taking down hush in arkham knight when he had so much potential of being a bigger threat. Then they insult Deathstroke so badly with the overused batmobile instead of a cool hand to hand combat boss battle. Jason being arkham knight wasn't a good choice and there is no Wayne Manor or batcave despite it being their last arkham game. Then rocksteady used to have such good respect to the source material in arkham city and asylum but in this game they kinda screwed up especially with the relationships. In the animated series and comics I believe when Barbara became batgirl at that time dick Grayson was robin so few more years later he became nightwing and then Jason became robin then died and then Tim became robin. Barbara is much older than Tim and they never date in the comics it's Nightwing and Barbara. Batman and catwoman should be together it's the last game yet they screw up, I mean when you try to save her she doesn't like batman then when you save her she's like how she is in the comics liking batman but then batman say's no because... no good reason.
***** During arkham asylum Barbara Gordon was oracle on a wheelchair which means she was batgirl before arkham asylum but robin could've been Tim drake before arkham asylum I suppose. Man this is getting more confusing.
Personally. I believe that ANYTHING that WB Montreal makes doesn't exist to me. Arkham Origins has never existed to me (unfortunately, the Batgirl DLC, I had a lot of hope for, but I may have to consider it as a nonexistent cash cow also). Rocksteady's universe is the main thing, the blood-sucking cash-in WB Montreal is completely different. You have perfect points Kwing, but just think of the WB Montreal stuff as completely non-canon. It makes me much happier.
KR Presents you must hate knight because of all the origins references the game has.
Yet there are multiple Origins references in Knight, including two villains in the game that only appeared in Origins, and even THEY reference Origins.
KR Presents to bad there stuff is canon as proven in Arkham Knight.
Hey you wanna be negative about it by all means it's your opinion. but it doesn't mean it's the truth sorry.
I love you man, you say it how it is and its a hella entertaining watch!
New subscriber
I am with you on this, i just hope this and the other DLCs are fun and (hopefully) make sense
Guys here is the solution to all of the Tim Drake arguing.
ARKHAM KNIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!
Before the events of Asylum, Jason Todd sets off to kill the Joker because he knows Batman will never do it. While doing so he is captured by the Joker and taken to an abandoned wing of Arkham Asylum where he is beaten, tortured, branded and "Killed" on camera for Batman to see. Jason was in that abandoned wing of the asylum for a year and half way through Batman presumed Jason dead and brought in Tim Drake to become the next Robin. Joker shows Jason a picture of Batman and Tim Drake Robin after his six months in captivity. This is why Jason hates Batman so much in Arkham Knight. After Jason is "Killed" on camera this DLC takes place and then Arkham Asylum takes place after that! Hope that cleared up any confusion! :)
Strike U That... could work. Thanks based Strike.
Jonathan Zhin That's what is described in game. It's not just a theory!
In AA Joker says that Batman could use a new sidekick. Which means he's never heard or seen of Tim before.
Nick B. Or he just isn't Impressed with Robin and thinks his idea is better.
Well, okay? In AC he acts all surprised when he sees Tim during the challenge map.
Kwing , you should lead a pitchfork army to WB games Montreal now !!! And I wanna be your right hand guy , let's do this !! #DickforRobin
Get your cotton candy can't have a riot without cotton candy
This is now one of my favorite videos from your channel
I just made the same freaking video! I'm so pissed!!
TheSalvageArkham Lol dude I saw that too, love your videos by the way.
***** this isn't official. just people in the community talking about the idea.
***** It doesn't say New Guy or New Robin, so it's really not for me. But whatever you think
***** Yeah, Joker says that. What you forgot is that Joker also says "It looks like you can use a new Side-kick." So Tim can't be Robin during Asylum.
***** Okay :) Thanks for the warning.
I wish it was Jason because he's my favorite robin and It would be cool to see him break some bones
The comics have always been dubiously canon. I mean the Arkham City Sirens comic contradicted the plot of City, which you can't blame on WB Montreal. My theory is Tim has been Robin for maybe a month in this DLC, which takes place maybe a year before Asylum. Two months later, Babs is crippled, leading into her becoming Oracle. Ten months later, Asylum happens, then City and its aftermath (meaning post Arkham City, Tim has been Robin for two years) this makes the Arkham City and Knight prequel comics still canon, (I've read both, so I know that it doesn't contradict those) but Arkham Unhinged (which was already not canon since Origins contradicts there Black Mask story) isn't. As for Joker's "you look like you could use a new sidekick" line, I assume Jason was still locked in Arkham at that point and he was just making one of his cruel, cryptic jokes. I assume Jason escaped Arkham during the events of Asylum, but that's just me. Hope at least one person chooses to adopt this headcanon with me.
Been waitin all day for this rant finally!
You can see the batgirl dlc synopsis when you scan bargirls suit in the clock tower. You open city storys where the bios are and you can read how it says, batgirl and robin save Gordon from joker so I don't think it's just fear gas or hillusination. Love your vids, keep up the great work.
I love the classic Harley Quinn outfit, but I hate Tim with babs -_-
If WB Montreal decided early onto give continuity the finger, they could've AT LEAST given Tim his Arkham City suit!!!
Also, this is just a minor gripe I have (on top of a few that I have with the main game and all the other dlc) I get that they were going with the new 52 batgirl design, but couldn't they have given her suit a more believable utility belt? I know this is something most people wouldn't mind or care about, but it's minor details like this that just show how lazy WB Montreal, WB in general and even Rocksteady have gotten.
Hey kwing, I was thinking that Jason's torture scenes took place before asylum mabye he didn't replace Jason with Tim but joker just showed Jason fake pic to make him hate batman more, also the Tim Drake skin might be a placeholder until they finish working on the Jason/Dick costume keep up the good vids
This does make sense to me, basically what CheesyGranola and Strike U said. This could fit into the continuity providing it took place about 3 months before Asylum.
Tim was in college in City not high school, in Knight it was established that Jason was replaced after 6 months which happened before Asylum so it would make sense that Tim could in training to become Robin or has become Robin and hasn't been out much, unless he was chaperoned.
Well Jason was replaced in 6 months according to AK so for this to make any sense like you said this has to be Robin's first big outing. I can kinda see that as he wants to just call Batman right away in the trailer
Arkham Knight is screws continuity
Have u gotten then audio files of Jason talking to oracle when she was kidnapped ?scarecrow is talking to her and knight comes in and says get the hell away from her then on the last audio file after telling oracle who he is he tells his guys if she's harmed he will kill them
A mature fanfic writer have more constant than a developer. I laughed so hard. Either that or that laughing gas got me in witch case JOKERRRRR.
The game canon overwrites any other canon from comics or books.
In Knight, Joker is fully healthy and free when torturing Jason, during which he shows him a picture of Tim as Robin, meaning Tim had to have been Robin before Asylum, since Joker was sick and imprisoned after Asylum. Therefor, other than the shaved head and AK costume, this could actually work in the continuity set up by the games.
Titian made him sick (an overdose of it) during the ending of asylum
That was before Asylum. Joker was completely healthy throughout Arkham Asylum & then became sick from his Titan overdose after Asylum and into City.
Bomberman101 No not really, because Tim still doesn't have Batman's full trust in City or Knight, and they refer to him as the "New Guy" in both City and Knight. Also, DC and RockSteady have said that the comics are fully canon
Bomberman101 No because Joker said in asylum that Batman needed a new sidekick
***** no robins are referenced directly to in asylum both of you could be right or wrong.
I've never heard of you before but when I heard your intro I had to subscribe.
I actually like this robin a lot from how he came to be and his interesting personality like during his training and everything 😃
I'll just wait and see until it comes out. There could be an explanation for Tim being there, like dialog suggesting Tim is new, just starting out,or something.Never read the Arkham comics,so I can't really comment on the continuity of them vs Matter of the Family.Nice to see Harley in her original outfit though.I don't know really,I'll wait for it to come out before making my opinions.
When I saw the trailer I thought just about everything you talked about so it was kinda funny listening to you say it out loud
i honestly i could not give a damn because in the grand schemes it really does not matter and im referring to the Tim and Barbs thing especiialy as tbh that kinda makes sense as they have similair interests with both of there techy side of their life, but even so does not matter as it is Rocksteadys choice for the story that they want to go for
I learn a lot from you about batman. Thanks!
I think you're right about the continuity errors taking away from it a little, but I still have high hopes and I think it will be good.
I love your rants...aaaahhh. Dude, you're awesome.
Let's face it: WB Montreal is just not real good with continuity. But even still, they DID make Cold Cold Heart, which was phenomenal! This one, although in the sense of Harley Quinn's Revenge where it's in one section, still looks pretty fun!
Like I said with the trailer, aside from the design, they only said: "Robin" instead of "Tim." Maybe we're dealing with Dick/Jason with a bad hair day instead. (That's my head-canon. XD)
lol Cold Cold Heart was phenomenal because it was based almost completely on Batman the Animated Series episode Heart of Ice.
I loved Origins but when they made Harley meet Joker in blackgate made me slam my head
MyNameIsLeroyJenkins Why is that a bad thing? Keep in mind that Harley was only meant to work with Joker in Asylum. It said nothing about where they met exactly.
***** Lol you have been pasting the same thing on so many comments dude.
***** Touché
Remember the Officer Down gameplay trailer, and the one after that with Poison Ivy? Remember how Batman was wearing his new armored suit in both trailers, even though we now know he didn't even have that suit yet at that point in the story? They could be doing the same thing with Robin here to avoid any important plot points. Sure I could be wrong, but there's nothing to worry about until there's SOMETHING to worry about.
You should make a rant about the lack luster challenge map and the characters we CAN'T play even though they gave us so many characters in the game to be playable. Also the fact that they took out those characters JUST so they can sell it as DLCs.
Joker shooting Barbara should be very soon after the doc, because there is a newspaper during that scene in knight that says batgirl saves commissioner.
Thanks u i thought i was the only one to realize that rocksteady messed up the timeline at the end of arkham knight and the batgirl dlc
I think in defense of rocksteady it could possibly be a placeholder. I remember in one demo for arkham knight u interrogate a thug and you have your armor on but in the game you have the post arkham city skin. It's possible that Tim is a placeholder.
I think a big reason that they don't keep everything identical story wise between the game and the comics is so that the experience of playing the game and reading the comic will each be fresh and not exactly spoil things for those wanting to experience both the comics and the game. Still, they could have don't better at keeping their consistency with Robin's hair being shaved and such.
Wanna know something bad. It would be incredibly easy to make an idea like this work. All you have to do is have Batman team up with Batgirl and have them face...anyone other than the Joker... To ultimately lead them to run around a few set-pieces from Arkham City, and voila! You'd have a way to include the biggest part missing from Arkham Knight and it would only take the effort of setting up a few quest lines in the old Arkham area model. WB Montreal even made a city model that looked newer, so it would only require pallette-swapping the model from Origins..
Unfortunately they want to somehow be EVEN LAZIER than that and use freaking challenge maps and shamelessly pull the character models from Arkham Knight's assets. (And then they decorate Joker to look like Jack Nicholson's portrayal in the Batman film.) That's just... do they have an art department?!
Woah! K-wing i think this is the first time i heard you freak out like that.
Question: My Arkham Comics are digital, how do I go about ripping them up?
I will say that
1. I will like being able to play as Batgirl.
2. I would have to agree to it maybe being a alternate earth situation OR
3. This is going to be some weird messed-up storyline that turns out to be a dream of when Barbara was crippled (think dream sequence of BTAS when scarecrow makes Barbara see her death and the repercussions.)
....That's all for me.
kNIGHTWING01 Kwing I believe the continuity errors were rectified shortly before Arkham Origins release and I don't know why everyone just ignores the fact that on the official description for Batman Arkham Origins it says that the game takes place "several years" before Asylum, so the date for Origins is unquantifiable. This description is on both their website and on the game case. Since Origins is cannon and the developers constantly changed the time period at which it took place (Seven years, a decade, five years, etc) it's easier and more reasonable to assume it's just "several" since it's the official description for the game. As far as the DLC is concerned WB Games Montreal isn't only to be held accountable but Rocksteady as well. This DLC was going to make it or break it for me whether I was going to buy the season pass or not and I think I'll just wait. I can't stand this forced romance between Tim and Babs. I also hate how every Robin has gotten the short end of the stick in the Arkham Verse besides Tim.
I think that during Jason's six month torture Dick found Tim and had batman make him the new robin but because batman didn't trust Tim was mostly training but when batgirl needed his help he disobeyed batman and when to help and while he was helping batgirl joker must have taken a picture of Tim witch explains how joker had that picture during the Jason Todd torturing and why every one thought that robin was not around because that was the only time until he was seen until Arkham city but the joker and when joker wants something to be unknown it says unknown like Jason Todd still being alive
This seriously makes me wish I hadn't pre-ordered the game with the season pass. Thanks for the update on the Batgirl DLC.
Wait so from the flashbacks of Jason dying joker shows Jason a picture of Tim and batman fighting together so that means he would have had to kidnapped Jason before arkham asylum and had him till a little bit before city
Man I was really hoping that Jason would be Robin during Matter of Family. That would make so much sense for them to do that considering they put him in the main game, and this would be an excellent chance too show off his history!
Plus, Think of it this way. After Jason and Babs capture Joker, free Gordon, and get back to Gotham, Joker escapes later, and knocks on old Jimbo's door to cripple his little girl! Jason gets pissed off and goes after Joker, getting caught, tortured, and "killed" which we see in Knight. Dick's with the teen titans during all of this so he doesn't know until way later and feels very guilty when he does find out.
Boom. Continuity established.
TheKGamer OOOOH!!! That would be so freaking awesome!!!!
kwing remeber in the death in the family flashbacks joker said it been six month since he kidnapped and torture jason todd and the joker show him a picture of a new robin(tim drake) so what about that
Year 10: Arkham Asylum
Year 12: Arkham City & Knight!!!
this is probably how the Arkhamverse plays out
Initiation
Year 1- Deals with the mob and assembling his gear slowly. Also deals with a killer around Halloween that Alfred called a long night for Batman.
Year 2- Finishing the mob while investigating the Red Hood and capturing The Calendar Man near the end of the year. Joker is created during this time. Blackgate Riots(Origins) occurs during this time
Year 3- Cold Cold Heart, Blackgate breakout(Origins:Blackgate). DIck Grayson becomes Robin in the Fall of this year. Batman finishes the mob off and meets Harvey Dent, whom then become's Two Face in the winter.
Year 4- Arkham Asylum is reopened and Harleen becomes Harley Quinn. Dick is still Robin, Barbra become's Batgirl. Bane probably breaks Batman's Back around this time as well, leaving Dick and Barbra in control of Gotham. Criminals won't take him seriously so he quits as Robin and become's don's the Batsuit during this time becoming Batman briefly.
Year 5- Batman returns as Batman and takes down Bane. Around this time would be a 4th of July incident Joker that Batman mentioned during the Arkham comics. Dick become's Nightwing due to successfully protecting Gotham in Batman's place and leaves Gotham to further his training and moves to Bludheaven. Jason become's Robin in the fall
Year 6- Dick returns as Nightwing and meets the new Robin. Jason attempts to kill Joker on behalf of Batman and is instead captured and tortured by Joker for over a year in Arkham. Assault on Arkham film now happens
Year 7- Time Drake become's Robin and the Batgirl Matter of Family incident occurs. Tim is Robin in this episode as Batman has asked Barbra to train him while he is taking a small break and this would in fact be one of Tim's 1st outing as Robin and his 1st without Batman at his side(this is backed up by the fact Tim say's in the trailer"maybe we should call Batman?" with a uncertain voice. Tim wearing his Arkham Knight suit can be explained as Bruce got paranoid and made him wear a heavier outfit with more protection since he isn't there to protect him. Shortly after The Matter of Family concludes, Barbra has her fateful encounter with Joker(leading into the Killing Joke arc) Jason is finally free from Joker and begins his quest of vengeance against Batman. Also an incident occurs with Poison Ivy and Plant Spores in Gotham(mentioned by Batman in Arkham Asylum)
Year 8- Arkham Asylum occurs and the aftermath leads to the creation of Arkham City. Tim switches to a new outfit( the wears for Arkham City) during this time, seeing the outfit Batman made him was to heavy for him to wear easily. Batman assisted Tim in this process helping him find a balance of protection and mobility that suited Tim. Batman secretly modifies Tim's original outfit to match this.
Year 9- Arkham City and Arkham City aftermath. Dick creates a new outfit as Nightwing during this time to better match his style and Tim begins to wear the Robin outfit Batman originally made for him as it is easier for him to wear now do to being stronger. Batman begins work on a new Batmobile and new Batsuit.
Year 10- Harley's playable arc occurs shortly before Arkham Knight. and the actual incident of Arkham Knight incident followed by Red Hood's taking down Black Mask or his stand in which will be followed up by Gotham City Stories of Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood and Catwoman ending with Season of Infamy DLC.
Tyrineal Not bad
Tyrineal SPOILER: The Killing Joke arc doesn't happen in the DLC.
I think it sucks that Rocksteady and WB games are just not thinking about story anymore, but one thing that is good about this is that Kwing said there basically is no continuity anymore, so you can make your own. You can just say whatever you want is canon, whether it's that Long Halloween happened pre origins or after for example.
Try and think of it like this: WB Montreal universe for Batman and the Rocksteady universe. Different developers, different universes.
In arkham knight in the Jason Todd moment Tim is already Robin and it takes place before arkham asylum joker says so this is not batman then but when the joker is showing a photo of batman and Tim as Robin to Jason so Tim has been Robin before arkham asylum or Tim has been Robin but he is still the new guy because after he was Robin for a little bit he put through more training dering arkham asylum but how far dose the batgirl DLC take place ? Thank you
hey kwing its all fear toxin because in the trailer jim looks the same as he does in arkham knight and she would imagine him in his most recent form in her hallucinations, same thing with robin and also she uses the remote hacking device which was CREATED during the events of arkham knight which were many years after the events of she got paralyzed
Whats the name of the arkham comics that are before arkam city. I want to read them. I more just want to read more about the past with nightwing and robin in arkam
What if the batgirl dlc is a A.R mission for Tim drake to get in training or because he never saw how Barbara was like before joker shooting her.
I remember a thug in Arkham City states that his dad got locked up in the old gcpd building 20 years ago.. but how can that be when arkham origins is five years before and the gcpd building was a train station? i hate screw ups.
I aware of that.
The only way this can man sense is if Tim is replaced by Jason a while before Death in the Family
this Joker with the hat look so much at "Jack Nicholson"
I am happy about Harley and her classic look, and I was happy about having a competent female in AK. Well, other than Ivy.
Truth is, there are very few comics I like because of the accursed continuity issues and discrepancies, and this one just proves again to me that I should keep my involvement in this media as just lore, without investing too much into the books themselves, and appreciate references and tributes in more cohesive takes on the characters.
Will you ever do a Lore video on Tim?? I would love if you did.
It's ok kwing you know how superman and flash like to change time that's what's messing with the continuity. Either that or they never cared about the continuity in the first place.
The only way that I think they could make up for this is if they say that batgirl was just being oracle in arkham asylum because she wouldn't risk joker blowing up Gotham, as stated in asylum. Then have this take place before arkham city, but after asylum. Also make Batman constantly worried about Robin.
Tim was Robin During asylum, but after Jason died why would Bruce let Tim come to the Asylum if it was that dangerous?
I think the DLC takes place while Jason Todd is in captivity. About half a year after he is presumed dead. Tim is most likely out without Batman's knowledge so Batman doesn't know he's with babs. I'm also assuming the DLC will end with the killing Joke. (Not the actual dlc, but a cutscene that takes place afterwards). Which will cause batman to be even more protective over Tim resulting in his attitude toward him in Arkham City. As for the robin skin used in the trailer I'm just assuming WB got lazy like they did with Origins.
Hey, did you ACTUALLY rip the comic book or was it paper?
You can see the location in between old Gotham (Arkham City) and Arkham Asylum
maybe in arkham asylum tim was robin but kept secret about in case joker heard and for tims saftey.
I honestly think we should hold judgment till we've played the game...by we I mean you and everybody has played the DLC then pass judgement....but I do agree on certain points you havenpoijted out owing....like the robin combat and the storylines that have been told in the past
maybe in arkham asylum tim was robin but kept secret about in case joker heard and for tims saftey
All you have to do is play the DLC with the New 52 Robin (Dick Grayson) skin and filter the word Tim with Dick using your mind
At first I thought that it wouldn't make sense but it can if they say that Jason Todd wasn't killed but captured and tortured for over a year. And if Batman got Tim drake quickly unlike the comics, they can PROBABLY put it together.
Thank you Kwing!!! I was thinking just about everything you said after watching the trailer. Thank you so much for getting it. because they are ruining the timeline with this DLC
The best move they could of done is they should of made it jason (as robin ) and barb (not romantically) but it would of allowed us to get a first hand glance of jason going too far when he puts them down which is documented , could have a scene were barbera finds him torturing someone for Intel or chastising him for being too harsh with criminals. It would also of allowed Jason and joker to have an interaction that leads him to his belief that the only way to stop joke is to kill him
First to say first. Also I have never seen kwing so angry since he found out what divergence was about.
You never know lets just wait till the release
If they ever make another Arkham game they should put Barbra back as batgirl
Daym! Kwing was pretty gangsta in this video, pretty dank yelling!
Are you referring to the 'Arkham Unhinged' prequel comics. Those comics are a mess in the timeline as they contain events that never happened in AC, such as Poison Ivy abducting Batman during Protocol 10, Joker being put on trial and rescued by Batman, and an unfinished plot involving a villain, called Bookbinder. Those comics are way too much of a mess to be considered canon because they directly contradict Dini's prequel story and the game. I will take Dini's prequel comic over Unhinged because Dini also wrote the story of AC and his comics are referenced in the game as well.
In the Unhinged comic, where Robin shaves his head , it takes place during AC, which contradicts Dini's prequel, where Robin already had a shaved head before the events of AC. There is also a flash back in Dini's prequel that shows a much younger Tim before showing us how he looks in AC. Also, Tim does not sneak off in AC; he specifically says that Alfred sent him to meet Batman and give him the line launcher because he was worried about him.
Why does Joker making a joke about Batman needing a new sidekick mean Tim Drake has yet to join him? Could it not be Joker's sick humor to remind Batman that Jason was tortured and supposedly murdered by him and Tim is simply a bad replacement? And why do you assume Oracle has existed for a long time in AA; just because it seems so? Why can't it only be a year or so prior to AA? Joker abducted and tortured Jason for over a year, during that time Batman trains Tim, who works with Barbara and falls in love, eventually going off to rescue Gordon. Some time after these events, Barbara gets shot.
Arkham Unhinged is when the timeline really falls apart and directly contradicts events in AC, and were never truly confirmed canon as Dini's was.
I think I heard Troy Baker's voice in trailer. So I think that they just used Tim's skin, but Jason is the Robin?
I feel like DC and Warner Bros. don't know what to do anymore and Jim Sterling did do 2 Jimquisition on Warner Bros. 1 that on Warner bros. Business decisions & another one on the PC version of Arkham knight
I hope in a future DLC u can play with all ROBINS
Kwing, you are awesome!!!!!
They better say this DLC isn't cannon or I will throw a hissy fit
Some people have made theory's saying that this takes place during arkham knight when oracle is kidnapped and gets exposed to fear toxin so she's remembering when her father got kidnapped but she's seeing Tim because that's her love interest ?? Idk any thoughts guys ? Or maybe they will change that robin at the last minute and they are just fucking with us because not a lot of people know Jason is In the game yet so Tim is just like a place holder until the game releases ... Thoughts guys ?? Please ?! It's killing me
The Arkham comics haven't been consistent since Arkham City. I mean anyone remember that Catwoman, Harley, Ivy story that had no logical place during the games hectic timeline? Also, what about retcons? I remember Sefton Hill saying Batman had no Robins in that timeline at the time of Asylum's release. And now we have Batman having 3 before that time... Obviously, it just doesn't matter, and really shouldn't be that big of a point. If it was so important why only pay attention to continuity right now? What about the other dozen or so mistakes up to this point? Is it because it's Knight and it's popular to hate at the moment?
