That line gives me chills. It was the pilot of Gypsy 207, who apparently was arguing with his RIO the entire time. His RIO, Commander Enwright wanted to launch a long range missile while they still had a distance advantage. Pilot Commander Connelly protested this, but Enwright went ahead and launched the AIM-7. This caught Connelly by surprise, when he saw the trail leaving his jet. In that "Aw, jesus" you can just imagine Commander Connelly assessing everything that is going on, what is going to happen, and even though he's not happy about it, you can tell he knows what's next. Ultimately 207 would miss both their AIM-7's due to a launch error, and 202 would bag the first MiG with their AIM-7 launch, while 207 would go in and sweep up the last one with an AIM-9 (that he also didn't launch immediately because Connelly didn't have solid tone, but in the middle of the dogfight managed, to correct his error, activate the AIM-9 and hear a solid tone even with the RIO blasting him like a backseat driver). My favorite part of that, is when he says "I can't! I don't have a fucking to--ooh". He apparently catches his error right when he's saying 'tone', flicks a switch and is greeted with solid growl

I though this was gonna be a new AC video, what a pleasant surprise.
Yeet.
The special music made bu meteor for the Heatblur F-14 DLC for DCS
Love listening to that and playing games like Ace Combat or wings of glory
My favorite RUclips channel tbh.
Love the work bud! Glad to have worked on this skin for you.
This is gold right here... Well done man.
Thank You Mr. Kangalee!
NO... THANK YOU so very much mate. It was my son who discovered your channel last night and we've been watching it since... He's 12, I'm 43 and I'm a (furloughed) Captain for an airline based in the Caribbean.
You now have 2 new forever fans.. Your work is top notch man. Again, well done mate.
@@JensenKangalee Wow, thank you for sharing, Jensen! What a nice story (not the furloughed part!!), glad to have you two aboard!! Happy Easter!
Absolutely amazing video!
Every time you upload some great works, I wanna play acecombat.
So in dogfights theres allways a third jet to record it from bank gamer angles
Was that Troy Landry piloting one of those F14s? Choot'em Choot'em! 🐊
Finally someone using the Meteor songs!
Every single time I watch one of your videos I'm just left awestruck at how good it is. I found your channel 6 years ago after you uploaded the stigler tribute and fell in love with it after I went back and watched "Kerbal". It's amazing that you're still producing extremely high quality content six (and a bit) years later. Kudos!
Just love that Sidewinders growl tho
This is not gold, this is not even diamond, this is Void Opal-levels of awesomeness.
I want a multi-thousand dollar 8k large monitor setup just to watch your spectacular films. If I had to describe your channel in one short statement it would be: “Nonstop beauty.”
A good, short remake for a DCS portrayal of the Gulf of Sidra incident. Keep it up m8. Hoping for more Ace Combat videos.
Damn! Another quality uploads! I'm admiring your work, well done!
More Tomcat goodness? Nice.
Fun video. I wish they animated the jinking the Floggers did that provoked the Tomcats.
Dude this is more realistically insane that the HISTORY CHANNEL graphics... Amazing talent man!
reminder that this dogfight actually happened weeks before Top Gun came out
this is what possiblt inpsired the final bit in the movie
Top gun came out 3 years before this encounter actually.
You may be thinking of the Gulf of Sidra incident in '81. Libyan Two Su-22s fired on F-14s from VF-41 and were shot down.
Next can we get some Falklands/Desert Storm/Korea vibes?
Fantastic, as always!
This was awesome. And you learn something new everyday, didn't know about this encounter!
