- Exclusive content for the Foose Design RUclips Channel!!!
Part two of the series follows Chip Foose as he customizes the truck bed on his custom C10 - prepping, sanding, faux weathering, staining and sealing the wood planks; prepping, sanding and eventually painting the bed itself; custom fitting the Camaro bumpers; spraying rubberized undercoating and final installation; Chip also receives a special delivery!
In this eight part series Chip Foose chronicles his custom 1967 Chevy C-10 truck build, showing you projects and solutions you can apply at home along the way.
The build was inspired by an original '67 Camaro Z/28 motor Chip found years ago. He dreamt about a Camaro performance packaged C-10, offered by the factory in 1967 (hence the “C/28” moniker) and set out to create it.

Mr.Foose. I want to thank you for inspiring me to follow my dreams. You create THE most incredible pieces of automotive art ever. Thank you again, your devoted can.
The Tesla of Car Building 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful modification of the black painted bed wood these trucks came with. Your work reminds me of boat repair techniques.
Really cool to see *Foose* back to making videos... Even more cool to watch them here in YT
Mr. Foose @ play. Looove 2 watch that man play.
I didn't even know he had a RUclips channel this Mon can make anything cool and is very humble person.
C28 -- ??? Mean
TUNG OIL WORKS GREAT....WATERPROOFS...HARD SURFACE..SATIN LIKE FINISH..EASY TO TOUCH UP...WE STAINED FRIENDS 66 WITH THE PAINT USED ON TRUCK...MAROON...TURNED WOOD RED...LOOKS AWESOME..!.
Somehow, I missed this part of the build. So glad I found it now, just as I'm starting to do my wood bed short box.
Still humble and being the best...that is Chip. No selling and all telling. Does not matter what the media or format is, I always learn from watching.
Seriously you are the baddest ass man on the planet chip !!!! Absolute genius with art of subtle changes that give your work so much ahead of everyone else......Been a fan for over 20 yrs ..Thanks for what you do n give people hope to dream of coming pathetically minuscule close to what you do ...Kudos young man ... Glenn
IMO this is a LOT better than Overhaulin' . I could watch it with a one-hour long episode and still not have enough.
Chip! Don't forget to mention how great it is to have any kind of "tools" at your disposal to create what your imagination sees as the "finished" product!
childhood icon. he is still an idol of mine to this date and to blame for my love of cool custom cars! keep it going chip!
3 year old video still bringing the views!
Funny that it popped into my timeline, I just did my bed wood and joked while filming it that Chip Foose would eat his heart out, rofl....True story.
I Modified my crossmembers to avoid the big hold down bolts thru the wood. ;)
Now that stain technique was awesome, learned something new
It's safe to say as a designer an builder that chip will down as the best to ever do it. That's fact.
The Luckiest C/10 in the world.Gonna be fun watchin this Truck come together. Thanks for sharing with us Chip!
You're a Jack of all Trades, and a master at it all! Even your woodworking skills are top notch. This could double as an episode for This Old House!!!
Awesome Job Chip! Just saying hello from WA State
and thanks very much for sharing this with us! I hope
you and your dear families have a wonderful year!
Love the wood color , thanks for the tip.
I watch a lot of automotive youtube channels and they do great stuff. The one thing is that when Chip Foose shows up it is like Hank Aaron showing up at a little league game. Chip is a young man with old school credentials. One of the masters.
Chip Foose the Master at his craft ! wish he had a show...
A personal show with Chip Foose. The permanent backing music is unnecessary though, just Mr. Foose talking is enough
Welcome back Chip!! And on You Tube as well.👍🤓👌 Love your work! ❤
Of ALL your fantastic builds, THIS "C/28" is my all time favorite! I heard you sold it and then, recently bought it back... SO GLAD! Hope to see this in real life sometime at a show or on a S. Cal street!
I enjoy everything you do Mr Goose. Very sorry to hear your Dad passed away.
Chip you are an amazing custom car builder!! everything you touch you make a Diamond out of it!!! keep up the Great Work!!! wish I could afford you lol..
Good to see you on RUclips Chip.
Chip is a worker , hands on boss , he knows what he likes , me too
Im restoring a 64' C10 and this give me some great ideas when i do my bed. This is way better then the TV show builds. I hated the time crunch and always wonder about the time frame when building a classic. Paint drying and body work. Good job with the video series!
I shore do like the Patina of the Bed Floor the way you sand blasted and the color of the wood. I've used the chain effect on projects before and in the right project it is really good to do. I make Cross's for wall hanging and outside use and I do that from time to time for the `0l Rugged Cross ✝.
Saw Foose subscribed immediately!!!! Legend and innovator 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Just like finishing a guitar. Always have enjoyed watching Chip work. Very talented dude. Too bad he didn't know he would be putting a new paint job on before he took that chain to the wood.
Foose the best design in the world.
Since the time of the 1st episodes of Overhaulin that I am your admirer, I would have liked to have been one of the people caught up in the show but I do not live in the USA, one thing for sure, you are a humble person and blessed by God and, above all, knowledge to the small details, continue like this, I'm following your videos in the channel and may God continue blessing your life and your family, hugs from Portugal.
Great stuff, hopefully we can see long multi-part project videos in the future too.
Hey shoutout to 3M for sponsoring chip on RUclips! Great to have him back! I’ll make positive choices towards 3M products as a Thank You. Actually always have. Chip tone the background music down you don’t need it to hold the video together - you do it by being there.
Chip, I'm loving this build series. Great explanations of what you're doing and how you're doing it. Looking forward to the next episode!
Nice tip to use oil instead of urethane sealer. Also a nice tip to mix your own stain using acetone and auto paint. I'm building a '41 Willys pickup with a shortened and tubbed 46 chevy bed. Since most of the instructions won't "exactly work", I'm picking up tips and techniques as I get ready to put in the bed....
I've been looking for a wood bed for my 64 c20 and the color is off the charts going to have to try and copy it
Awesome work Chip
Foose you are the man, That truck will be a real badass.
so happy to see Chip making videos . i'm just gonna sit here and pray that Chip and cleetus mcfarland do a collaboration one day. #sweethoneybbq
Chip Foose é o Melhor.
Master foose , Love to c you work! Great teacher you are , best of best by far!..
Cool concept and great project.
Similar to mine (63’ C10 with 69’ Corvette 427 Tri Power).
Chip, thanks for your help with picking colors. You’re very gracious.
Looking forward to visit #12 to your shop!
That's amazing you are reading my mind Foose I used ebony for my 67 and I beat the hell out of it haulin stuff heavy it's a truck! Right on dude 👍 Man I know where there are some gems in the dessert 5 ton trucks that would hurt my feelings if you rebuilt them because your so good at it brother 👍 I hope someone tells you about this message I live up the street from you
did you notice how he keeps calling it a 67 but it has side signals and big back glass? its obviously a 1968. if you want to see a real 67, only year with no side signals and small back window, look at my profile banner.
Cool. And glad to see you using safety gear.
No detail over looked ever. Amazing!
Acetone will remove pencil marks from wood pretty easy. Never trust the boards to have a square end cut, so check and cut if needed before sitting to final length. Also to make a clean hole with no tear out using a forstner bit, is to start slow in reverse. Once shallow edge is cut, the wood fibers are cut and will make a clean cut. The old GM guys finish is simple, they used 1 part used motor oil, 1 part kerosene and 1/2 part linseed oil after cutting holes, final length and datos on all sides. Set over plastic on saw horses, set in sun to dry and repeat.
Keep it going Chip.
Awesome work love how you stained the bed!
Awesome Vid.. And a great master tradesmen. But it brought a smile to realize even the Foose, fidgets a bit on projects.
I could watch the Master work for hours. I love the concept too. Although the new Z28 wheels and tires would looks awesome 😎
I met this man in person. He was really really Cool.
Very nice Mr FOOSE
Finally you are here in youtube. Let's rock.
I sure wish I had the $$$ to have you guys restore my 66 GMC short wide box. Hopefully I can learn from your videos. Thanks for the videos.
Me too I have a 66’ SWB
Me 3! I have a 65 C10 LWB stepside.
Always great builds from Chip Foose.
This is great! Thank you for taking the time to explain what you are doing, rather than just showing before and after shots!
Very nice job. 😎👍
My dream truck, some day.
Very nice install. Wish Chip would have shown how he templates the cutouts around the wheel wells.
Hi, Chip!!! Regards from Guadalajara México!!
holy smokes, chip has a youtube channel? instant subscribe.
THERE SHOULD BE A RIDDLER AWARD FOR BEING SO COOL. THANKS.
I use the acetone/basecoat stain trick often, latest was a countertop and shelf I made for my laundry room
Mr Chip Foose.... The master craftsman!
Good to see some good rims and it's not brown!
Cool technique. Looks amazing.
Much respect to chip foose. I truly believe Robert Duvaul said it best in the western outlaw Joseie wells, you got keen eye seen ritght threw it.. He was talking to chip foose...
Love the look of that wood! I've now got to try something like that. Beautiful! Thanks Chip for the straight forward approach to these videos - nice and simple. Definitely looking forward to the next ones.
Awesome awesome awesome!! Two of my favorite GM models incorporated together! Your are a genius my friend! I so appreciate your amazing vidoes!!! I subscribe as soon as I saw your name! Thank you!
Maestro at work

Absolutely awesome as always fantastic job Chip
Chip Foose on youtube! Hell yeah!
I wish I could afford Chip's consultation on "Project Cheylark"... a '71 Cheyenne with Buick 455 running gear. I started it with my father, before he died in 2009. I drove the truck for 4yrs after the drivetrain swap.
The goal, was to have a phantom truck that would appear as if it were a real 1971 Buick production... Vinyl top, "GST 455" badging, Buick script on the tailgate panel, etc. .
The debated options were:
-Functioning Ram Air with '70 Skylark induction
-small "custom" badges from a '70 Electra 225 vinyl top
-"Cheylark" script on the glove box panel
-Riviera/Skylark influenced console (idea was later scrapped, for rides with the Mrs.)
-Period correct Buick paisley pattern black upholstery, or use the material as an accent to period black vinyl.
-15" Buick rally wheels, "Wide Oval" tires, and custom "GST" center caps (white "T" in same font at 20% larger in background, with red "GS" overlay)
- adapted air suspension from a '70 Buick Riviera (later scrapped, because I hate the feel of air suspension... drove an 18 wheeler for 15yrs).
-artist rendering, or retro photo shoot and faux brochure, featuring the truck in the 1970 Buick lineup
-we tossed around the idea of hideaway headlights, but couldn't settle on anything that didn't take away from the looks of the truck (hence why I still prefer the '64 Riviera to later models).
Sadly, my father's cancer diagnoses rapidly progressed after the drivetrain was installed. He died in 2009 as a result of his exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam. The country was still reeling in the economic recession, and my profession (trucking) was slow to recover. We were forced to sell the family property, along with the shop. Several life hurdles took place since then, and the truck was parked after a transmission failure, and a mechanic who tried to scam me out of my truck. On a more positive note... I now have an amazing family of 7, and am enjoying my children's growing years before they graduate and I can return my attention to the truck. With our newest addition, that's AT LEAST 18yrs away. Lol
It still has the 1970 "X-SF" code 455 (Riviera, Wildcat, and Electra 455 engine) rated at 370hp. The truck is OEM white and blue, that I really like, but we thought silver with a black vinyl top would suit the Buick theme much better.
My father was a HUGE FAN of Chip's work, as am I. His contributions have shined from his early customs, through the Chrysler and Coddington days, and have been a beacon to those aspiring artists in his more independent work.
Chip you may never see this or respond to it but I feel that what I have to say is why more and more people come to you for work that your competitors! I do not know all of your closes competitors, one that I will single out. Is West Coast Customs, not nocking him. It is if I lived out there instead of Louisiana, it would come down to him or you. And the reason I would choose you is, years ago when training people that worked for me. Was when you talk to someone remember that they most likely have talked to or will be talking to a competitor. Now the competition will most likely have everything you have to offer. Except for you so you have to sell them on liking you over all others. And you sell yourself better than your competition. Because you rise above them say true to your self, and do not let someone try to convince you to change! for what it's worth that is how I see it.
people don't realize how much work a subtle change takes
Keep em coming. Gives me some ideas for my 67 C10. I like the black. I think that a lot of people don't realize that most if not all wood beds came black or body color from the factory.
if you have a 67, you should notice that this truck has side signals and big back window. it pisses me off that he's calling it a 67 because 67 is the only year with NO side signals and SMALL back window. doesn;t that irritate you, knowing how your 67 is more desireable, but completely different from a 68? he's lying about the year of this truck. its a 68, easy to tell
@@613Builds We understand you are passionate about your 1967 C-10, so are we, but the panoramic big window was an option in 1967 and the side markers that piss you off so badly, were aftermarket that the previous owner put on.
@@FooseDesignInc wow that's alot of work, to require a different wiring harness, different fuse block, different steering column, flashers, amazing that someone would go through all that when the 67 is a much more rare and clean look. visibly, 68+ was the only years with side signals and large back window, i know that much.
Excellent explanations. Thank you for that Chip!
The best in the business.....
Love watching you work.... thanks
A God among us mere Mortals ....
❤️ that Chip is on RUclips!
As always beautiful work Chip!
That is one awesome build chip... At home I'm building my 74 mustang II. I used your mustang Tyre design in the stripes of my mustang. When I'm done I will send you photos. Fan from Johannesburg South Africa

Foose magic...
Very awesome
Not crazy about the color of the wood but it's Chip's truck. He can do what he wants and it will look good.
Primer video de Chip que veo y de una vez suscrito
5:10 50 shades of Foose
I just learned more about sanding in 10 mins , than 3 years of hot rod Boyd
Excelente video. Gracias por compartir. Saludos de Argentina.
