Part seven of the series reveals the final look of this custom C-10! Chip Foose walks you through the many modifications to the exterior, interior, engine, wheels/tires, bed, exhaust, grille and more and even gets the truck on the open road for a test drive.
In this eight part series Chip Foose chronicles his custom 1967 Chevy C-10 truck build, showing you projects and solutions you can apply at home along the way.
The build was inspired by an original '67 Camaro Z/28 motor Chip found years ago. He dreamt about a Camaro performance packaged C-10, offered by the factory in 1967 (hence the “C/28” moniker) and set out to create it.
The weather striping is from a 2014 Chevrolet pickup front doors and trimmed to fit.

Honestly, Chip is one of the few builders that I would give a car to and just say "do what you want". nearly everything he does has a timeless classy look to it.
We need this guy back on television. Somebody, somewhere, please make this happen
Just send a team and film his everyday workshop work, even a livestream…. :-)
AWESOME!!! I love Chip’s attention to detail, originality with little things, and his overall vision with every build he does! Incredibly talented! God given talent!!!
Have had the opportunity to meet Chip twice. Actually walked down Woodward Ave with him during Dream Cruise several years ago looking at cars. A great talent and genuinely nice man.
Best quote ever, "My Dad always taught me that if you're going to do something, do it right." Your work ethic shines through brightly, Chip, but especially on this project. Your team did a GREAT job on this build.
You feel Mr. Fooses' passion for his craft/artistry. So rare for someone who follows their passion and doesn't give up. Congratulations!
I love the simplicity and period-correct look to it. Out of the countless builds, this is my favorite now from Mr. Foose. Bravo!
I've watched your builds since I was a young teen. Your thought process is so unique and I think that's what separates you from the pack.
This is a REAL build! Most people on RUclips have a company put on a new wrap, have a company put on an exhaust, and have a company tune and put on a big wing. Boom, new build complete! NOT. Chip stretched steel chrome bumpers 14 inches. By hand! Cut and weld, smooth and re-chrome. That by itself would take longer than the standard RUclipsr "build". Plus, he does it all, and doesn't pay someone else to then take credit. This kind of workmanship is going away. The younger generations just don't get it or aren't interested in hard work. It's become strictly a bolt on generation. Long live the fabricators!
Chip Foose is a class act, through and through! And brilliant one at that! Rarely do you find an individual who is at the top of their game in their profession, and who is also genuinely humble. Chip Foose is such an individual!
Beautiful job. What an honour it would be 2 meet chip foose.
I love Chips designs. Very timeless. And it’s nice to see him paint a vehicle other than silver or blue
Thank sweet Baby Jesus for letting Chip come to the real world of entertainment and show.YT and CF are an awesome combo. Thanks guys and keep up the hard work.
Attention to detail is next level!
Chip’s imagination, vision and execution are above & beyond!
Thank you for keeping the door handles.
I love the guys work and attention to detail... 👍👍
Uncle Foose, you can totally leave that in the will for me ❤️
Welcome to restoration from TV world . Using parts you'll never find , tools you can't afford , in a garage that's bigger than the town you live in . I'm jealous . I find watching Foose , Stacey Davis & the like to be intimidating . Like I'll never have enough money or time to do something like this .
Bud Lee, True that. Chip has the talent and drive. Glad to see him share that to us, car lovers. Foose, Leno, Tim Allen, etc have air conditioned garages full of toys. Pretty sure they have employees to do the maintenance and upkeep. I don't envy that, glad they enjoy it. Of coarse they have sponsors and make millions of dollars. Think of this. If a regular non celebrity drove a truck this nice 1 time, it would be car jacked or ran over by somebody without insurance in 1 day.
Master of master car builders! Chip Foose.
I love this truck..... Very awesome. Great Job Chip Foose
It's so nice to finally see Chip do something for him that makes him happy. Chip you deserve to have the truck.
Nicely done! Looks factory. One of my favorite designs 67-72.
So beautiful. To work in Foose’s shop would be such a rush. If I were forty years younger that would be the dream job.
Rmember seeing this man's work in the magazines back in the day before all the TV and internet Fame. Cool to see how his Brand has grown
It's a about the details! Love the way you updated the Service Parts identification sticker. Awesome truck!
the "foose is in the details"
I think the truck turned out great. And I have to say, this is one of the few vehicles done by Foose that has wheels that look good. Not going with monster 20" wheels for once is a nice change.
Old comment but I'm with you on that. Oversized wheels are the only thing that put me off foose projects and I was pleasantly surprised to see a functional, well-proportioned wheel choice on this truck. Everything else is as flawless as always with foose builds.
I just did write something like this. It´s so smooth and no strange big inch wheels
Every inch of detail was thoughtfully carried out. Fantastic vision
As a kid I daydreamed about cars and concept "what ifs". Chip Foose brings his daydreams to life.
Awesome looking truck ! Built from the worlds best artist..Mr Foose !
Amen 100%
Sos genio chip te admiro por tus obras de arte saludos desde argentina chaco
Love it, not too slammed, lots of really nice touches. A+
This is spot-on. A 1967 sport version that continues the "Cameo" truck legacy! Chip, you are a true wizard!
Absolutely love this truck, especially when Chip had the rallye wheels on there. White is my favorite color on a vehicle...just looks clean, and perfect here. Well done, Mr. Foose!
In 1989 I purchased a 69' Chevrolet C/20, it had a 400 out of a car with a broken piston. I rebuilt the engine, found all the parts from the junk yard and converted it to a 4 x 4 with a four speed on the floor instead of 3 on the tree with 2 wheel drive. Took the truck all apart and painted it midnight blue. Had the truck all restored and then was hit head on by a drunk driver. They totaled out their 86' Cadillac and I had to replace my frame, front right fender, and I built a new front bumper out of 2x3x1/8 inch tubing. Repainted the truck again since it was completely disassembled. Now it has 73' front axle, transmission, transfer case, a 72' frame, and 75' HD rear axle. Added power steering and power brakes. Still drive it and I love my dream truck.
chip ,,, you are the best. pleasure watching.
Definitely a nice truck I hope to see it in person someday!
The detail Chip goes into is just crazy. Properly OCD, exactly what you want out of a restorer. Love the truck👍
Just another class act from Foose Designs
The absolute king of design and fabrication. Well done Chip!
The perfect truck! Nobody does it like Chip Foose. I had a friend who passed that knew everything there is to know about 67-72 Chevy trucks and he always had one in the works. I wish he could have lived to see this truck. Thanks Chip.
Foosealicious! This is the absolute Best 1967 Chevy Project I've seen to date.
Very nice truck. I wish that a truck like this was available in 1967. The custom details are fantastic.
What an Awesome build! Just like everything Chip builds a work of art.
Love the sound the tailgate makes
In 1974 I bought my first pickup truck when I got out of the USMC. The truck was a 1967 Chevrolet CST [Custom Sport Truck] short/wide bed. It came from the factory with bucket seats and a "buddy" seat in the middle, which enclosed a storage compartment beneath the seat bottom. Big back window. Very cool. Also had a factory tach, full instrumentation, A/C, power steering and power brakes. On the outside of the doors, where Foose's truck calls out Custom, mine was CST. Very cool rig.
Gotta love it! Perfect! I have a 67 Camaro and love C10 trucks. Awesome combination, similar to when you put a 67 rs front clip on an el Camino on Overhaulin’. More classic Foose. Thank you.
The greatest custom builder and designer of all time 🐐
I tell everyone chip, Your the best builder out there, Great work Again. GOD BLESS
Chip, you are one amazing automotive artist & manufacturer. Very thoughtful design.
I've got a 67 Step Side C-10 that has been on a slow track, however, the Camaro bumpers have been part of my plan for a while now. Very nice detail. Mine is still in pieces until I finish my garage space. Can't wait. Thank you for sharing your incredible talents.
awesome project !!
I don't say this very often about Foose customs but... That is a great idea & a beautiful truck!!
Thanks Chip.....you are the king of kustom design......awesome.
Impressive. Very clean lines
great channel, keep up the great work....
You have put a big smile on my face. Thank You Sir!
the excitement you get when you talking about details like the steering wheel matching the dash is priceless.. love it.. still crazy how amazing this turned out also, would totally buy this if it was produced. cheers.
Love it. Simple, stock looking
Such a beautiful Truck, Chip you never cease to amaze me.
That is way cool, well done!
Just AWESOME, Chip. AWESOME, Indeed❕ I Like the first set (Original ones) of the wheels better though........its just me
Have to admit when I first saw this truck I didnt really care for it... but now that I've seen this thing close up. I'm loving it.
That Weather stripping idea is great.
Chip is Chip, he rolls with the client's desires and patiently works for them both Chip & his dad are Good people. The 67 is one day my dream truck I'm 61 maybe before I 67 I have one...
Love the details and all the subtle changes whilst remaining stock feel of the truck. Great work!
For me it's the bumpers. This is one of my all time favorite trucks and the bumpers and roll pans bring it to perfection.
this guys artistic skill is only slightly rivalled by his ability to build sick automotive art
Chip is the man! What an awesome C28! Orange is my color and I would certainly buy one just like that. Once again, you’ve outdone yourself!
Those bumpers look so good on it
Brilliant in every way
Wish you all the best miles with yet another trophy Chip.
Just love everything you build, they all get a heart and soul.
In true car guy fashion. Was going to leave it stock... but ended up redoing everything. Amazing Truck!
I think this is one of my fave C10 of all time.
Beautiful I had a 67 in light blue super truck had a granny gear and overload springs never failed to start even at 20 below ...true story back in the 1980s one of my all time favorite vehicles.
Mind has been blown by this beauty , just clean and it’s the idea of utilizing its factory lines , this hits all the right points in quality looks .
Boys and their trucks! I know this was fun for you.God bless you and your family Aloha
I watched all your overhaulin shows u have a talent that nobody else doesn't have keep up the great work
Awesome truck Chip....your a true master....
I have been a faithful fan of you Chip and watched Overhauling religiously. I often picture having my 1968 Impala 2dr done by you but it's a pipe dream because i had to sell it due to some Financial hardships and the loss of my mother. What you do and the love of labour you pour into these fine vehicles is true artistry.
Just awesome your attention to detail is what makes your project so much better than everybody else 👍
Sweet. Love the glove box sticker with all the details.
Great work Chip 👍
"Beautiful truck," What a Special piece of Art Mr. Foose you have designed!!! I hope one day I will get the chance at restoring my all original 72 Chevy Cheyenne 402.
I think it was some great ideas. I like everything about. Your ability to create onto a truck / car is amazing. Glad I met you in person.
Man, this truck is so nice. I love the little changes you make! some people won't even notice them. And the details, like the service parts sheet in the glove box. So cool! I know I will never to be able to get one of your cars, but I can dream while watching your videos. I have been following your career since you worked a Boyd's. Keep it up!
Awesome one of a kind truck! Great job.
Foose is an absolute master at modifying vehicles. I enjoy his builds and how his mind works.
I really like the way it turned it. I'm glad you painted the truck and I'm glad to see the original dash still installed. I love the new wheels too. Thanks for making these videos.
Out of all the car builders out there you are the best by far. Love your work.
Beautiful truck Chip!
Such a talent, I am in my mid 40s but I am welling to sweep the floor and get you coffee, in return I get to watch you do your magic firsthand👍👍👍👍👍👍
Sweep your own shop floor. Become your own man.
Nice C10. 25+ Years ago i took a 67 Ford F100 Ranger-352, 3 on the tree manual steering ,manual brakes. Used 3 other trucks and other vehicles to finally make one- 69 F250 Camper Special for H.D. 5 bolt suspension, Gauge package interior, under dash A.C. system. 71 F100 for the Power steering and coloum shifter, dual M.C & front disc brakes. The rear leafs out of an old "Iron side" 1 ton camper van and it's 4:10 gears. 390 and C6 trans out of a 1970 F250. Took said 390 and went and got a 67 Mercurys 410 crank shaft. Over bored the block, new rods and pistons. "14 bolt Mustang heads" basically making it into a 428 C.J. engine. Chrome front and rear thin bumpers, LOST all the mouldings. Painted it a Custom mixed Brandywine/Pinkish course metallic. Painting the cab/doors inside and out & the Aluminum grill putting in Chrome Cat eye's headlight covers. Tinted windows with add on chrome drip mouldings and rear slide window. 79 Mustang steering wheel and dual 67 Mustang Chrome side mirrors. After market Chrome tubular bed rails. Funny story. Horry County Police use to have the D.U.I check point under the "big bridge" on peachtree rd. Some police do not believe that a 67 truck came with out seat belts, day night rearview mirror, not even door locks! Use to have to carry a card in my wallet from the judge stating my truck confirmed to ALL 1967 laws pertaining to trucks. Lol
So admire your work.
Pure genius!
When I was a little boy in Spokane WA I used to ride my 1968 Apple Krate to Dishman Honda and Dishman Cheverolet. I would go in the Honda motorcycle store to look and actually smell the Trail 50 in Blue. I would get so excited that I would eventually throw-up outside at the SE corner of the building. I just could not help it, I wanted one just that bad. Then, off to the Chev store to see "my" cars and trucks. 67', 68', 69', and 70 oh, those were my years indeed. And while I enjoyed the full line-up, the Camaro's and C/10 Short Wide pick-ups, were there for me. The sales guys used to let me wipe down the ones on the showroom floor with cloth baby diapers. When I would show up and let's say my 1969 DZ Z/28 w/302, Muncie close ratio 4-sp, 4:11 limited-slip differential, manual steering, disc front brakes, Houndstooth interior and RADIO DELETE! (I was gonna see it race at the new Spokane International Dragway, I just knew it!) was GONE, I would go sit outside and cry. I just wanted to wipe it down one more time. And the small block C/10 4-sp, short wide, you just knew that a "Racer" was gonna buy that doggy to Drag Race cuz "those little trucks cant even carry a piece of plywood or some 2x4's, they're worthless!" said all my Uncles and my Dad. I would mutter something about them waxing their jolopies in the quarter, cuz with slicks I just knew they would turn a 12, I just knew it!
Man just looking at that truck makes my stomach feel like I'm gonna throw up or cry, and im 58, the hells wrong with me?
If you ever were to sell it, we I know this kid from Spokane WA that sure would like to buy it.
I grew up seeing Rydell emblems on everything Chevy in town. It’s cool to see it on the C10.
What a sweet truck. Gorgeous details.
Cool. Nothing less. Watched you for years. You started the rest you did.
Thanks for keeping the windwings!
Well done. There are enough "patina" trucks running around :D
